Fun fact about Daemon Summoner : at one point, you're captured and locked inside an insane asylum. Your wife is there too, but you have no weapons, and there is a werewolf prowling around. You have to do a long sidequest with a ghost, helping him to retrieve his body and finding the necessary items to make silver bullets so you can kill the werewolf, which puts the ghost to rest. As a thanks, he opens a door to a room with weapons you can use to fight your wife. Oooor you can pick up a lantern and toss it at her face to clear the level in like two minutes. Also, the final boss can turn invisible... but your reticle still turns red when aiming at it, so it's no big deal. I heard the game was done in THREE MONTHS. I don't know if it's true, but it would explain a lot.

Project ARMS?! Oh crap, this got a game?! Man, that had one of the best panel pages I've ever seen where the MC's mom gets held hostage by a gunman. He does the typical "I don't know how to solve this!" thing. Then his mom tells him, "Oh sweetie.... didn't your father teach you not to panic in situations like these?" Followed by her whipping a gun out of nowhere and blasting her hostage taker away like a boss.
Garo is an awesome show. Darker Tokusatsu for adults. Highly recommended. I also appreciate that the game has the skyscraper fight with Zero as a boss fight. That scene was insane in the show.
Yeah, it was like "look, Hollywood, we can do an cooler action scene with 1/100 of the budget". The fighting scenes in the series in general are really good.
The first night of my study abroad in Japan I turned on the TV in the business hotel and the last episode of the first season of Garo was playing. Naked demon ladies flying around? I had no fucking clue what was going on but I liked it.
I actually know quite a bit about Garo. its actually a super cool tokusatsu series. Like... an adult-focused Kamen rider. Basically, the weird skull ring is Zaruba. They are a horror-detecting ring. Horrors are basically demons that kill people and posess their bodies. Makai knights have armors and kill these horrors to help humanity. I think all the Horrors (the moth horror, chain horror, and the gooey armor monster, etc.) all appeared on the very first season. The red timer is because the Golden Knight Garo armor can only be activated for a very limited amount of time.
I'm a simple man. I see Garo, I click on Garo. Matt, if you're interested in watching the show, it's a little hard to come by, but they DID release a series of Blu-Rays of the first two seasons (and all the movies) a while back. Look for something called "Garo TV Collection." Knowing your tastes, I'd definitely recommend it!
*Project ARMS* (the manga was originally titled just *ARMS* ) is some amazing sci-fi action nonsense with great mechanical and monster design, although the game is just an okay beat-em-up. And yes, all the villains are clones of a dude named Keith. *Buccaneer* is indeed a Simple 2000 game, but it seems to be one of the more playable ones.
The phrasing of "Monster-turned pirates" makes me more think they were monsters first, that then decided to become pirates. Garo was a toku show created by legendary designer Keita Amemiya, who made stuff like Mirai Ninja and Zeiram. The show was about wire kung fu fighting Final Fantasy bosses to JAM Project. While "mature" so it could have blood and nudity, the writing wasn't great and came off like cosplayers LARPing. Still the action was mostly the good kind of exploitation even if the CGI is dated.

Interesting choices to have you decide which god you worship and who gives you real, testable powers in Ben-Hur, adapted from the 1880 book Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ, in which the 2016 film apparently features Jesus even more prominently than the 1959 original. I can't help but feel like a polytheistic divine magic loadout might be, just a little, missing the point.
Raging Blades ! I was thinking about it when the video started and it appeared! The game has a lot of characters a fighting mode similar to power stone and multiple campaigns, branching paths and endings

I did not know project arms had a game . Sadly they never finished making the anime.
The anime was made while the manga was finishing up, and the 2nd season pretty much cut and change things. Could really benefit a new Anime Remake.
fun fact: the creator of Attack on Titan Hajime Isayama has stated that project ARMS was one of the inspirations for him to become a Mangaka I believe that Eran's attack titan form was inspired by the main character's Jabberwock transformation.
YO, GARO WAS SICK!!!
A chariot racing vehicle combat game is a really cool concept. Shame the combat and physics seem kinda off.
You pressed Y and B on your 100% authentic PS2, Matt?
I hate when I do that.
wow, the moment I saw the title I remembered having Raging Blade, what a forgotten memory! Isn't that the game where if you finish it you unlock a fight mode where you can use any of the mobs in the game? Also, project arms is an anime, a very good one too! If only I knew that game at the time... I was fairly informed on anime games back then
Moons were always ginormous in old 6th gen games, apparently. Its bigger than it needs to be in even GTA games.
Raging Blade actually looks like a pretty decent 3-D beat`em up for its time.
46:21 you never heard of Microīds!??? Wtf!?? The SYBERIA saga anyone? The Dracula games? Still Life and Post Mortem? Frikkin SHOGO?
Those are all very EU games.
@@flophouseplaysI'm in Argentina Matt 😅, we have worse coverage then you guys in the North

Interesting choices to have you decide which god you worship and who gives you real, testable powers in Ben-Hur, adapted from the 1880 book Ben-Hur: A Tale of the Christ, in which the 2016 film apparently features Jesus even more prominently than the 1959 original. I can't help but feel like a polytheistic divine magic loadout might be, just a little, missing the point.
garo ps2 game sadly only game made for promotion material for the main show.
Raging Blades looks like a sequel to Dragon Valor!!!
Man Garo. What a great series. Was introduced to it with the HW garo event in xiv then fell in love with the series going back. Nice seeing it here.
Raging Blades reminds me of Dragon Valor on PS1. Love it!
The moment Matt said "Daemon Summoner" i laughed because i knew exactly how it was going to turn out
Dude that sonic racing song brings back memories!!!!
Raging Blades ! I was thinking about it when the video started and it appeared! The game has a lot of characters a fighting mode similar to power stone and multiple campaigns, branching paths and endings
17:40 Well there WAS a problem with London sewers, but it was that it was filled with poopies and dookies.
HOLY SHIT IS THAT GARO?!!?
Buccaneer's opening sounds like someone trying to rewrite the narration at the beginning of most One Piece episodes.
Pompeii is doing great, I heard they even have successful museum that keeps the entire population employed!
There was a really good garo anime
Plays PS2 games
"The A Button does nothing!"
......
Uuuuummmmmmm
Project arms is from an old 90s anime that is pretty badass.
