Ted talks about changing I vi ii V (Fmaj7 Dm7 Gm C7) making the ii dominant G7. you can make each chord dom7 F7 D7 G7 C7 then tritone sub the D7 to Ab7 and G to Gb so you have F7 Ab7 G7 Gb7 for chromatic motion.
    The final melody line I have A A F C and bass line G F# G D G chords are Gm9 Gm9 D7#9 C7sus/G

He was made of music. It was in him. It was him. I want to ask a very smart man, “what is the difference between Doc Watson and John Pilla?” He thought a moment and then said, “Doc Watson doesn’t wait for the next John Pilla record to come out before he learns something new.”

if you're still wondering: it's 'a foggy day', a jazz standard. Judy Garland and Louis Armstrong with Ella Fitzgerald have great vocal versions if you want to hear the melody with lyrics.

Q use your ears and figure it out. You will get much more out of it than just reading tab. You can see his fingers to know the position.
