Man I’m Hooked I’m Glad I came across your channel.. love it .. my father was a big time cabinet maker back in the 80s and I was the helper just like you , sanding ,spraying, cleaning , painting I did it all. now after I gave up Tractor Trailer driving for 26 years. I have found the love to paint cabinet and more again 😂.. I definitely will be learning a lot more from you thank you Brother..
I love pneumatic paint guns . I use one to spray my plants for bugs ( perfect coverage without saturation ). I also want to start using one to paint doors and apply poly to bar tops and other things . So much control and smooth finish . These look gorgeous! Great job 😊
Over my head for most of it but of course a thumbs up for your efforts. Still thoroughly enjoyed watching you work and that beautiful finish you create it
Wow! I'm in the cabinet refinishing group on Facebook with you. 2020 our goal is to grow our refinishing business. I'm out here in Las Vegas. I think the PPG store carries this. Man great work.
I’m a woodworker who uses regular products (off the shelf as you mentioned) , and I must say I love that look. I will look into it, and all the best to you with your new venture. You are obviously very good at what you do, and business oriented 👍👍
I don't know how some people get on cable TV pretending to know and telling others about DIY projects. I think you should be on TV with a DIY show. Good luck and I'll be watching your channel.
Hi I live in the UK and am a furniture sprayer. Your video got my attention and I would love to now more as I am thinking of going out on my own and this seems like the kind of product that would suit me. I hope to hear from you soon, many thanks Iain.
Hey Iain, looks like Axalta has gone out of business. I'm also in the UK. Not sure where abouts you are but you should look into Spraymastersuk who do kitchen stuff with some amazing new finishes I've seen and offer a course that I'm going to book on.
This is awesome. I wish I could come work with you for a few days to learn. Will I find a vid about exactly what guns you are using, your air filtration system, that whole setup? Love all of it.
Great video! You have convinced me to use on my cupboards and a bunch of other stuff. BTW: Do you have a pet dragon there with you? I can hear him in the background.
Just came across your channel a few days ago and I quickly became a fan. A quick suggestion: It would be great if you included links in the description to the different products and tools that you are using in the video. You could even profit by doing this as an affiliate link ;). Looking forward to more of your videos!
Hmmm.... On June 1, 2017 Axalta Coating Systems completed its acquisition of the Valpar Corporation’s North American industrial wood coatings business, which includes the Zenith brand. Valspar divested the business in connection with the antitrust approval of its acquisition by the Sherwin-Williams Co.
Hi Louis and hope all is well, thanks for showing us the good work and the expertise that you have and if you don’t mind me asking, where can I get the product from, thanks Dan
Louis, Thank you. Very informative. We are considering changing our kitchen cabinet painting systems. Where can I find a local distributor here in Colorado. We are also considering Target coatings EM 6500. Most cabinet jobs either choose a Ben Moore or SW color for their cabinets. Thanks again Louis.👍
Louis, Just watched an amazing video of yours and really enjoyed it. Question: Is this product available or offered in 'dye' form? Or have you any videos on refinishing using dyes? Thanks and best regards. (P.S.) The best comment and complement by far is your son's. All the gold in the world can't compare.
Woooow that is nice, great explanation thanks, the red looks great I never thought, I live overseas and there is not glaze at all over here, any suggestions of what could I use instead? Thanks in advance great job, pro
Louis, is this base product from axalta still available. I really like the recoat time. Also is there anything else available that is comparable with this axalta base coat. Just wanting to know my options. Any help is appreciated . Thanks man
wow looks great, Louis Im a novice woodworker how just picked up a shinny new 4 stage turbine HVLP system I'm these produces would spray fine with an HVLP?
Hi Louis Have you ever used the general finish products? If you have ,on top of stained pine ,how many coat of the sanding sealer and how many coat of the precat lacquer Thank you
hey got a question what warranties do you offer customer when you do a full kitchen cabinet painting job..just wanted to get and idea..i wasn't sure about that maybe you can give me some help or tips on that,,thanks brother
Hi, just watched your video, I really enjoyed it. The part I enjoyed the most was that you did not talk much , you introduced yourself and got straight to work. Question; How does the oil from your fingers effect the product? Question 2; Where can I buy these products? TY GBY🙏🏽
Thanks Carlos! I ensure to wash my hands religiously when in the finishing room. When this video was made I was using a lot of solvent based products but now switched over to Waterborn. Where are you located?
In the video you could not see but did the grain stay in the pore. I've used filler stain to a to achieve this and of course they did the grain I think your product would work better
Can you top that vinyl base coat with a 2k lime Milesi? Say I want to use the basecoat tinted to white as a sealer to stop tanning bleed and then top it with white milesi.
Do you have a video setting your spray gun up? I know you have a pro gun set up there but it seems like you are hardly using any product and getting an amazing finish. Would like to see how you calibrate.
Louis, this product is very hard to find at a local distributor. Can you help out on where to find it? Can it be shipped and what is the cost you are seeing and the spread rate? Thanks for your help, I’m in Southern Nevada.
Awesome video!! Fun to watch! Do axalta products have to be sprayed? I’m redoing my bedroom furniture that I paid a “ professional” to do that she completely ruined. Therefore my wood is not smooth from stripping sanding etc. so I need more coverage with brushing paint on . I would love to use this product line
Hi Shannon! Axalta products are best sprayed. I would look into a waterbased option. Wise Owl has a product called one hour cabinet enamel that can be brushed and seems to hold up well on furniture
Louis, great info. Thanks for sharing. What spayers are you using? Air assisted airless and a gravity fed air gun? What about processing at the face frames and panels that need to be finished on site? Any lingering smell? These products all water based?
Kremlin eos 15:1 and Apollo 7700 hvlp. These are solvent based products and definitely have a smell. Make sure to use proper ventilation when working in an enclosed area
Nice work , i have cabinet shop and using chemcraft precut lacquer , nice finish but im having issues with durability,, would you recommend better quality precut like cambell maybe or should I switch to post cat lacquer? And again you do nice finishing, !
What is the temperature of your shop? We use a lot of lacquer at our shop for trim and doors, but fight the temperature as far as drying goes here in Northwest Montana. Thanks man, the product looks great!
Hi Louis, great video, very well done. One thing I'm confused about, though, is the initial (red) base coats -- since the intent was for the doors to have a mostly red finish (with glaze too of course), the vinyl base coat serves as both primer AND final color? I've done a little bit of cabinet spraying using water-based Sherwin Williams Kem Aqua Plus, and the recommended schedule is 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of color. If you had not intended to do the powder glazing, and just wanted red doors, are you saying that with the Axalta materials you can just tint your base coat to your desired color and spray a couple of coats and you're ready for clear?
How do u spray both sides with out damaging the fresh coat ? Or do u wait for one side to be fully dry and then spray the finish coat on the other side ?
What brand of gun are you used?? Can I use the same gun on pps system ?? I work on wood finished . Thank you for your respond. That's a great job you doing it.👍
Thanks for sharing this video Louis! Do you still sell Axalta or strictly Renner now? How well do you think that precat lacquer will perform overtime compared to Renner 851 catalyzed or 688 catalyzed fully?

Where do you get powder glazes from and do they only work through an HVLP. I've been using flat paint to get this look but this looks easier.

Hi, great video, can you get same speed to finish schedule with Renner?
On the force drying. can you use a ahir dryer or would that force it to much as cause it to blister or cause runs?
Can you top that vinyl base coat with a 2k lime Milesi? Say I want to use the basecoat tinted to white as a sealer to stop tanning bleed and then top it with white milesi.
Very nice
Muy bonito gracias 🙏

Hey.. una pregunta, que clase de pintura usas y que tipo de sellador?
Hi, What king of HVLP spray gun and spray turbine are you using? Great job!
Yup I'm in..
great educational video , thanks for sharing

You can speed up the dry time by reducing the glaze 5-10% with isopropyl alcohol
Do you have a video setting your spray gun up? I know you have a pro gun set up there but it seems like you are hardly using any product and getting an amazing finish. Would like to see how you calibrate.

nice work man! just wondering , whta sprayer are you using and where can i get this product in the san francisco bay area?
Louis, this product is very hard to find at a local distributor. Can you help out on where to find it? Can it be shipped and what is the cost you are seeing and the spread rate?
Thanks for your help, I’m in Southern Nevada.
How much % more will I charge the costumer for the glaze I just did one job by hand.
pre-catalyzed lacquer? sounds like blinker fluid. whats the bake temp for proper cure?
Wish I can use your services, from South Africa!

whats the dry time on rack for flipping
