My dad used to listen to this all the time Eli was one of his favorites, Played in my work today didn’t know weather to be happy or break down. God bless everyone who reads this and pray we are all okay
I listened to this while studying for my EMT license exam. The song hit harder after I failed the exam the first time. It was the first song I played after I passed it and knew I was gonna fulfill a dream.
That is a very hard test and I am so thankful that people like you are striving to reach that goal. Keep your head up and thank you for going through what you have to become a life saver.
This was always a favorite song of mine. I am disabled and wanted to be a cook since I was 15 I didn't think it was going to happen until at 27 I interviewed to be a busser at a restaurant and ended up as a dish Prep cook instead it took 4 years and Covid until I got to be a cook so I've been a cook for 7 months now and I'm 32 I was 15
This song came on when we were on the bus on the way to family night at basic training. Everyone on the bus was singing. It was one of the most genuine moments I’ve had in my entire life, I think about it every time I hear this song.
😆Bunch of dumbasses... I recently found a bunch of pictures I took in OSUT, and seeing those young faces, pretty much all of whom I've long since lost touch with, brought a smile to my face, even if I was never super popular. I wonder how many of them went the full 20+ like I ended up doing, and I wonder how many of them died along the way.
This song reminds me so much of my musician son. Growing up, I couldn't give him much, but someone gave him a guitar, and he taught himself to play. Those words, "I can hear the ringin' of a beat-up old guitar" always brings tears to my eyes, because I remember him practicing, playing the old songs, Johnny Cash, John Denver, when he was first learning. Our house was filled with music. Some of the sweetest days of my life. ❤️
”that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.”“ Romans 10:9-13 NKJV
So I just turned 15, it's sad they don't play this song on the radio anymore, I remember riding with my dad in his mustang and hearing this song(it was my favorite) and it still is one of my top 3 to this day. By the way anyone listening to this in 2018 by any chance?
I was walking around a farming store today and this song came on. I hadn't heard it in years, but I used to listen to it constantly. It triggered an inspiration in me that I'd long lost, a drive to continue working towards goals and dreams that feel just out of reach. This song always gives me that little push I need to keep moving.
Ive been dealing with the worst anxiety since June. Lost alotta family and this song keeps me dreamin of the day i can wake up again and go out without being scared.
"goodbye" by night ranger. brother of someone in the band died of drug overdose. they didnt get to say goodbye . i listened after i lost my family . helped loads.
This song helped give me the courage to start my own business. Now I’ve got one truck and make a comfortable living. My real inspirations are my dad and my uncle who taught me the carpentry trade.
When this song came out, I was going through a bad patch with a friend who had become toxic and abusive towards me. Every time she’d get pissed at me or tried to put me down for wanting better for myself, I always heard this playing.
I love how you can see when he sings it he's almost walking through his memories of pursuing his dream, telling you to keep on trying, because none of the truly great people out there started in convienient circumstances
Only one thing I gladly received from apple was digital copy of this song. I didn't even heard any country song before (just because it's not major genre in korea) and I'm not listening other country song now. I think this song has a power to inspire my life and keep motivates me under hard circumstances. This song's album is still the only country song of my bookshelf, and I think It deserves.
About 2006...at frontier city,an amusement park,in Oklahoma City,a little known band back then named Eli Young Band.Hot summer evening, not a lot of people showed up,a summer shower, didn’t know if the rides would resume,These guys fkn killed it! I’m 55 now,and really back then not much would impress me,but, I have to admit these guys did.Thank You again Eli Young band, some great memories!👍
I first heard this song in 2015 when I was working. I was in a dead end job with no plan for the future. This song made me remember a dream I had when I was a kid, to become a soldier. I kept grinding at the job for three years until something happened. It ended with my aunt deciding to get me out of this slump and move to a better life. She helped me get in shape and I enlisted 27 August 2019. Right now, I am living the dream that I wanted to be as a kid. And from then on, I keep on dreaming on going far in the army. And yes, even if it breaks my heart in the end.
I really did enjoy Eli Young Band's cover I just wish more people would recognize Will Hoge for the great song he and Eric Paslay have written for us all to enjoy.
I really needed to hear this. I am a healthcare worker going through the COVID pandemic and my dad getting heart surgery. It’s enough to make me rethink furthering my career. But then I heard this song and it gave me hope. Thank you ELI YOUNG BAND!!!
Way back on the radio dial A fire got lit inside a bright eyed child Every note just wrapped around his soul From steel guitar to Memphis all the way to rock and roll
Once upon a time a gentleman by the name of Waylon Jenning's was told his music was not country nor would it ever be country. But he stood true and held his ground and is now on of the greatest country music musician's known. Music is a form of life and life must evolve to continue.
This honestly maybe my favorite country song of all time! After so many years since I first heard it. Still hits me in the feelings. Some might give me crap about it. But to me this will forever be a classic!
I used to play this song for my mom every chance I got, haven't picked up the guitar properly since she passed away... maybe I should for old times sake
This song opened the pilot episode of Nashville in 2012, as the camera showed incredible aerial footage of the beautiful locations in and around Nashville, TN. I just went to the Nashville In Concert Reunion show the other day and the whole cast opened the show with this song. It was so F'n cool.
I was on my internship in the USA last year and I came across this friend from Colombia who let me listen to this song and since then, whenever I come across this song, it reminds me of that good friend.
This song came out when my baby daughter 4 years old. She would sing the chorus perfectly...as she has grown she has kept dancing, playing drums, and performing. Just did 3 shows as a main character and people were shocked that she could sing that well & strong (same people would probably fall over if they ever heard her speak Russian or Ukrainian, too). Made her laugh, but this song takes me right back to her in the backseat singing her heart out
This song reminds me of my oldest sister that passed away 3 years ago on my birthday and every time I here this song I cry this was her favorite song.😔
I’ve loved music ever since I was little. I grew up on country and classic rock. It’s always been such a safe place for me and I used to dream of singing in front of a thousand people screaming my lyrics. And I still do. Just recently I went to Nashville with my friend who’s an amazing guitarist btw and we both have the same dream. The second verse really got to me because we are both too young to get inside the bars and stuff so we waited outside for our parents and listened to the live music. I told him that could be us someday. And it will be us someday. Our dream won’t be a dream for long. Soon it’ll be reality. But as of yesterday he has an audition for a band in Nashville. It’s a one year contract and he will get to travel every state and Canada with the opportunity to perform at the grand ole opry in October. I hope he gets it. He deserves this. And at the ending of that year we are going to start our own band and go back to Nashville to hopefully be something.
It's been a long while since I've heard this song, and it all of a sudden, the tune came into my head yesterday. Still one of the best country songs- if not the best country song, in the decade.
Mike Murph Wouldn't it be, "improperly spelled"? Or just "misspelled"? It's kinda like saying "also" at the beginning of a sentence, and then "as well" at the end. I always thing grammar comments are funny cause I don't think people care about spelling unless you're in Wisconsin.
+Mike Murph Wouldn't an "improper misspelling" be a word spelled correctly? Logically, the only way to improperly misspell a word is to spell it correctly.
I just stumbled on this song and I haven’t heard it in so long!! It brings back so many memories of a wonderful time in my life many years ago. I used to jam to this song over and over when I was about 10-12 years old. Never knew the true meaning til I started playing music myself. Definitely going to learn this song on guitar now. Love this so much!
Want an Oldie that will give you chills? "I'm Gonna Be Somebody" by Travis Tritt. Keep on trying new things. I was like you, and I now listen to every genre of music there is! Good Job! Don't let anyone tell you what you can and can't like! :)

In the summer of 2012 I took a month-long roadtrip across several Western and Midwestern states. This song was playing on the radio as I pulled up to the Buddy Holly/Richie Valens/Big Bopper plane crash site in northern Iowa, and it was one of those moments where the music you're listening to perfectly fits your circumstances. "Ohh ohh , I can hear 'em playing, I can hear the ringing of a beat up old guitar Ohh ohh, I can hear 'em singing... keep on dreaming even if it breaks your heart"
Few heart breaks later and finally found the guy I needed all along. He lived right up the road we where best friends took us both going through heart breaks to realize this is what we want. There’s always a light at the end of the tunnel and he’s mine.
Just heard this on the radio today never really gave this song mutch thought for some reason until I heard it today. I would not be where I am today if I didn't give things a second chance. Even my wildest dreams I never thought I would end up with the job I have and have two CCNAs and working on a CCNP. First CCNA took me two tries on the second test I almost said forget it but didn't.
I’ve loved this song since first hearing it!!❤️🔥 Country music needs to still be playing this song!! I can remember when I first heard it on the radio!❤️ Keep up the great job!!❤️🤍💙
July 2021 and this song still means so much and hits as hard as it did the first time I heard it!! Can't help at sometimes getting teary-eyed listening to these honest and beautiful lyrics!!!
Great lyrics. Nice to hear something else besides lying, cheatin', heartbreaking, music. Good story and will help others pursue their dream. Like your sound and presentation. Best wishes for a long career and successful!
Some songs no matter how hard you try to hum it in your head...you hear the beat drop, the drums(I'm a drummer girl), the strings and you just have to sing out loud
when i was younger i played guitar a little bit, went to lessons that my teacher taught and learned a few songs. Then i moved 4 hours away and the music left me for some reason. I sold my guitar and never gave it a second thought. However about 2 weeks ago i was sweeping up at work when this song came on, even though i had heard it many times before but for some reason this time it seemed to awake the music in me again. so i put together some money and am eating ramen noodles for a couple of weeks but i now i have a guitar that i love, a book of songs, picks and a tuner and i'm learning from online lessons.
Thank you for this song guys, I just saw the video and the scene where the kid asks for an autograph prompting the guy not to give up on his music was the inspiration I needed.
2024 anyone?
Song still catches my ear

Sadly, that's what the world does to all of us when we are down. God bless.

"keep on dreaming even if it breaks your heart"
One of the most underrated bands ever

Even If If Breaks Your Heart Lyrics
Ely Young Band
Way back on the radio dial
A fire got lit inside a bright eyed child
Every note just wrapped around his soul
From steel guitars to Memphis all the way to rock n roll
Ohh ohh
I can hear em playing
I can hear the ringing of a beat up old guitar
Ohh ohh
I can hear em singing
Keep on dreaming even if it breaks your heart
Downtown is where I used to wander
Old enough to get there but too young to get inside
So I would stand out on the sidewalk
Listen to the music playing every Friday night
Ohh ohh
I can hear em playin
I can hear the ringing of a beat up old guitar
Ohh ohh
I can hear em singing
Keep on dreaming even if it breaks your heart
Some dreams stay with you forever
Drag you round and bring you back to where you were
Some dreams keep on getting better
Gotta keep believing if you wanna know for sure
Ohh ohh
I can hear em playin
I can hear the ringing of a beat up old guitar
ohh ohh
I can hear em singing
Keep on dreaming even if it breaks your heart
(x2)
Keep on dreaming even if it breaks your heart
Oh oh oh
Keep on dreaming
Oh oh oh
Don't let it break your heart

2:16-2:25, this part gives me chills!
I can't believe this song is this old!
"Ohh ohh
, I can hear 'em playing, I can hear the ringing of a beat up old guitar
Ohh ohh,
I can hear 'em singing... keep on dreaming even if it breaks your heart"
Every note just wrapped around his soul 🙌
I love this song it feel like the good old days when kids use to be kids and adults use to just be stressful and just live a life that full of joy ❤😊
98.3 still plays it rarely
Keep on Dreaming Even if it breaks

12 years ago and still love it like it's yesterday!!
Hell yeah
9 years later we still dreaming but this song makes more sense. Great song!
Did private security for these guys in Phoenix years ago. They were so damn chill and friendly.
Lol Just ramen for a couple weeks
Hannah Kahrs it sucked, for 2 weeks that's all i had and i never want them ever again
David Schaible I wouldn't want it either after that. At least how i read it in my head, it seemed kind of funny how you said it so casual. thats all
i'm a casual guy, haha
David Schaible We all can be sometimes ha
what a powerful ending to the video. I got chills and teared up 🖤🖤🖤
Thank you for this song guys, I just saw the video and the scene where the kid asks for an autograph prompting the guy not to give up on his music was the inspiration I needed.
Do that thing you’ve always wanted to do, even if it does break your heart. And don’t do it for others, do it for YOU.
“Some dreams keep on gettin better, gotta keep believing if you wana know for sure”. Hits different
This was the first song that I heard from the band that got me hooked on listening to them.😅
Brings back memories of when I was young and innocent I miss those days
