This movie was done incredibly well and holds up beautifully as the decades go by, and I never even knew there was a musical thirty years ago when I first saw it, just the comic strip. I wouldn't change a SINGLE thing about it, it's absolutely great the whole way through, especially that cheer-time of an ending with the fireworks and 'Tomorrow' reprise. The musical is the one that's not the best musical out there...this movie is lightning in a bottle.
I still have this VHS and the opening remains the same. I checked the closing that it has the duplication/FBI screen and the closed captioning screen and then WSOD, and the moaning sound in which you don’t see them on any RCA/Columbia VHS tape anywhere which was quite strange.
Yes, i kinda figured it would have that same Warning screen, that first appeared in the late 70's as part of Columbia Pictures Home Entertainment, and continued on though RCA/Columbia Pictures Home Video, until they developed a new warning that they used alongside their "Rotating Cube" logo that they used around the same. As for the WSOD and the "moaning" noises, there is alot of bizarre stuff that occur at the end of videotapes, that you have to hold on to your couch and pray that your not scared to oblivion
Yes, the time when they had to squash the image together from 2.35 to 1 to 4.3 so that you can read all the credits. It was a film law that every credit must be seen.
