At 22:54 on the time stamp, the instructions are for Rows 21 and 22. At 23:02 you provide the instructions for Row 24. Can you provide the instructions for Row 23?
Thank you for noticing, that's a mistake. Treat row 24 as 23, 25 as 24 etc.
I miss matched row numbers, but instructions are correct.

I made this in worsted weight yarn and beaded a hat band. It looks amazing.
Very detailed, thank you so much ! My raffia is a bit thicker, will use hook 3 and try to adjust.
I discussed this with my wife who is going to make one for me. We are thinking thin strips of bamboo laid up, steamed and bound in a hoop would be a better outer ring material. Stainless wire rope is heavy, limp and will make metal detectors go off. Many thinner strands of bamboo lashed together and formed as desired will be light ridged and wont make metal detectors go off.

What is the mesuarement ultil row 7? And the circuference of round 25? I am using a different thread and my hat turned out very small, i am trying to enlarge it. Thank you.
How do you find part 2 for doing the brim?
Missing row 23. I don't know of this means 3 rows of 81 or if row 24 is mean to be row 23.

Thank you, unfortunately I cannot help you with thus info, because raffia is not regular yarn. The only thing about thickness that I can tell you is how many meters there are in a ball. This raffia has 50g = 165 m

You forgot row 9 so I’m figuring 54 as in row 8. I’ve made this once and it’s very nice but o forgot how I got around this. I’m using a different yarn too, Dendy!

You can wrap ends with raffia and glue it, because it's a paper

Thank you so much! Unfortunately there is no pattern, I just have this video tutorial. For bigger hat, you need to keep increasing to desired width, and then repeat everything the same way like I show in the video.

Hello @TheJins83 I hope my wee request finds you well. Yours was the 1st in the comments that tackled my exact issue! I too have volumous hair/dreads and am attempting to widen this pattern. It has been a great wee pattern thus far and I'd like to thank @daryacrochetlife for their video. I'm guessing it's at the lasts increase in the pattern before the long stretch of rows that I'd need to increase again firstly. I'm just curious if that was your take on things @TheJins83? And possibly if you might remember what you chose to do in the end? Again I hope these request finds all involved well! I thank anyone who might be able to help in advance 😊

Will cotton crochet thread held double (or triple) work as a good substitute?
I don't think it will hold the shape the same like raffia
Darya i purchased fibra natura raffia multi colored yarn since I was unable to find the Katia Marble raffia yarn that you used. Will this work the same as yours? I am concerned that I won't be able to form it as yours. Mine seems to be very floppy as I continue with the pattern.
Fibra Natura is good yarn, it will hold the shape just perfect. I was making my Bucket hat with Fibra Natura and I love it. You can check my video for Bucket hat to see how it holds the shape.
However, for this pattern you probably have to adjust a little bit. Maybe to to make so many increases. The best way is always trying it on yourself.

Hi Toni! You could use smaller hook and thinner raffia or you could skip last 2 increase rows. Just work those rows without increases
@@daryacrochetlife So for row 20 and for row 24 just do sc and no increases? Do just single crochet for rows 20-35 for a total of 81 stitches instead of 84 for a smaller head? Thank you and I love your tutorial. Going to start part 2 today :)
Beautiful hat. When you get to the end of Part 1, should the circumference of 58cm fit on you head around forehead and back of head area before starting the brim in Part 2?

Yes after finishing Part 1 you can try the hat, it should sit not too tight nor too loose on the forehead and around the head back
Thanks so much. I'm finding it a bit too big still. If I'm finding 84 stitches is to big, do I just makes increases only to 78 stitches (Row 19) and then do rows 20-24 with 78 stitches and no increases? Will the hat shape look ok? Thanks for you help.

Hi Shannon! You have 2 options: take thicker raffia and work with bigger sized crochet hook or you can make 1 increase row on the last stage (where I tell to crochet rows 25 -35). Let's say you make increase on 27th row.

And if you'll make increase row, add 6 increases in that row. Start crochet brim from the second row

@@NguyenThao-to2ed yes, you can, however you will need to recalculate sts in each row yourself. I would recommend you to have the same amount of increases in each row
Raffia to me is known as dried grass. I've never seen his raffia yarn, what is it made of??
Raffia Yarn looks like paper, it's made from cellulose
The head I am making the hat for is 53 cms. On which row should I stop at for the hat to fit?
Don't do last 2 rows of increases. That should work.

What do you mean curve? For the top part? You just follow the pattern and then you push the top down to form a Fedora top.

My raffia yarn is a weight 3, not the weight 4 that is used in this video. Does anyone know the size hook I should use in order to still make this hat?
What hook is recommended on the label? Try with that number and then experiment with smaller or bigger hooks and stick with the best result.

@@daryacrochetlife Hello I did use waterproof spray on them couple coats Scotchgard 3M craft spray and it worked really good I put a couple coats on inside and out. It doesn’t change the color at all

This crochet hook is very old, I got it from my grandma, it was made in USSR, I'm pretty sure you couldn't find the same now.
I dont understand where do you close or finish a row
I don't close rows, it's spiral method. Marker shows the last stitch in every row. When I come to marker, I know it's the end of the row. And I don't do any slip stitches at the end of the row. Just keep crocheting into next space

I like your hat I like your pattern instructions seem somewhat easy to follow but I find it hard that you have not put the written pattern back in the comments like you said you would I find that really hard it’s been a year since you put this pattern down why is this so hard for you can’t just do what you say to re-put the written part down thank you for the pattern anyway

If you'll find raffia with the same thickness so order 2 balls (each one 50 g). That would be more then enough
