I love this song because I watched this movie I think 4 or 5 years ago at my cousins house and know I can't see them or hardly do. I haven't seen them and actually stayed there for longer than 20 minutes in months. I want to go back to when this movie barely came out.

This song is like satan and his fallen angels singing a song about wanting to go back to God's kingdom and wanting to fix things back up, like in the lyrics it says "do you remember when we fell under". It's like one of satan's fallen angels telling satan and the rest of his fallen angels do you remember when we fell under to hell, and in the lyrics it says " did you expect me to reason with thunder", it's like satan telling one of his fallen angels did you expect me to reason with thunder, like how in the Bible it says that satan fall like lightning, and in the lyrics its says " I still remember when time was frozen, what seemed forever, was just a moment", like how there's no existence of time and age in heaven. In the lyrics, it also says " hurry up hurry up, there's no more waiting, we're still worth saving", it's like how satan and his fallen angels are singing and begging to be released from hell. In the lyrics, again, it says "feel the light shining in the dark of night, remember what we forgot, I know it's a long shot", it's like one of satan's fallen angels saying remember who we used to be, angels that had no concept of sorrow, pain, and suffering, and it's a long shot to go back that way.
So it wasn't just me, who thought about something like this. However for me, it was more like Eve, who is singing this, when they were cast out from the Paradise. She is talking to Adam, and the reason with thunder part means to me, that she couldn't argue with God and the We're still worth saving part means to me, that they and their descendents one they will be saved, and be with God again. The shining light refers to God, and the bringing it all back part can refer to the loss of paradise, and that they want to go back there.
Now, thats weird. I thought I was the only one who got that kind of connection from this song. I always thought the song was from the perspective of humans as a species, realising that we were destroying ourselves because of our own ways. This song to me represented us finally embracing the truth that we were created by God & are one nation - under Him. God gave us abilities far beyond what we limit ourselves to now & this song was the unlocking of those abilities through the understanding that love is the key. Jesus, Himself; had no bad bone in His body. When they judged & ridiculed Him; He spoke to them with kindness but truth. When they crucified Him, His first words were; "Forgive them father, for they know not what they do".
His way is love. Our way is anger & rage & vengeance. The reason why Jesus was sent to redeem us is because God once had a dream that was Mankind, & that dream was so beautiful & powerful that God & demons, foughtt over it for thousands of years & still do. The thing that I find funny is that the only ones who don't know their true potential, is us. The thing that will truly break your heart is the fact that God still believes in us. And so does Satan, otherwise he wouldn't be attacking us so greatly. This song to me, is the unification between mankind & God. Love your perception. I thought I was a loner for putting a religious connotation with the song but am glad I'm not the only one who got redemption vibes from the song. I only just found this out but do you know why God forgave our sin but won't forgive Satan? When we sinned in the garden of Eden, God kicked us out of the garden to save us. Satan was created as a spirit only. Formed where there is no time. His sins were created outside of time so will last forever. Inside the garden of Eden, all things live forever. God banishing us was Him sparing us from His wrath. The moment we left the garden, time began & so our sin was limited WITHIN time. It was His way of keeping the sin to the flesh & keeping the soul from the sin that the flesh commits. When we really strayed from His path, He put His own soul in human form & then paid for the sins of all mankind throughout all of time, in one hit. Thats why He had to die on the cross. He had to face Satan & tell Him that the debt was clear & that all sins of the flesh that would even condemn the soul were redeemed & forgiven & that Satan could no longer make souls stray so far, that redemption wasnt possible. God did this because He believes in us. This song to me, is us remembering what we have strayed so far from & returning back to His love, His way. I loved your take that satan seeks redemption but it will never happen but you got me thinking about a concept that I never have before. What if mankind remembered God's way & returned to Him & became pure beings again & in doing so, begged God's forgiveness on behalf of Satan? "Forgive them father, for they know not what they do". What if the reason why God won't destroy Satan is because inside of mankind's redemption, is Satan's? Jesus forgave the very ones that were putting Him to death. What if that is the true intention of God. A lesson not only for us but for Satan, too? Lessons that would lead ALL of His wayward children HOME & back to Him. Thats why He is God. He doesn't lose. Not a single soul. Satan isn't looking for redemption, which is another reason it isn't given so God won't forgive him but the sins of Satan are against us as well as God. What if we did what Jesus did & forgive the sins of the ones who sin against us? God cannot punish Satan for crimes against us if we have forgiven them. What if that's the plan? We are Satan's redemption as Jesus Christ was ours. What if that is what God is waiting on? Us finally embracing His way & redeeming our souls as they were intended to be & in that moment, forgiving all sin. We forgive ourselves for the sins that we have committed, we forgive all the sins that have been committed against us & sin is washed away. Jesus asking forgiveness for us on the cross, is what saved us. We would have had to pay the price for it, if those words hadn't been spoken. Forgiveness is the key. God made that clear all along. He forgave us, Jesus forgave us. He CAN'T & WON'T forgive satan though......
Sounds like there's a part missing there & I'd like to think that's the final piece of the puzzle. Father, Son & Holy Spirit. God forgave - Father. Jesus forgave - Son. And us - filled with the Holy spirit but if that's true, that would mean that all souls that came from Him would be redeemed. God created Satan's soul too. What if we are the reason why God doesn't destroy satan? We are Satan's only hope of salvation. His one & only chance is on us & whether we can find & embrace God & ask forgiveness on his behalf. What if God knows that every single soul that He created can still be saved? Like every good father, He doesn't want to give up on His children. Any of them. What if that's the plan? Not a single soul lost, not even the ones that seem way beyond saving or even looking to be saved. What if we were the ones who made satan remember what he gave up & made him see what God intended him for & in forgiving him; took all of his hatred for a being that he always thought inferior & washed it away; replacing it with an understanding of the mercy that he has been shown by both God & mankind. What if we were the ones that spared him God's full wrath & he knew it? Just a thought 😊
