I like the friendly, conversational tone of these videos. Thanks for taking the time to make and share them!

I love these types of videos. Highlighting channel-related games is my favorite part. Ohanami is one I definitely need to try.
Forest Shuffle is definitely fiddly. But, I think it’s worth it. It’s great on BGA as well. And I think the Alpine expansion is essential. Finally, I absolutely love that you shouted out other videos - I might have to copy that in the future. Lovely video.

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it! That's four votes for Forest Shuffle (and none against), so I'm going to try to pick it up during Nerdz Day tomorrow - I will look into the Alpine expansion as well, thanks! 🙂

That is an interesting paper about autistic folks and boardgaming. I am a solo gamer who’s favorite games are the puzzly ones 👀

I love Forest Shuffle. You can find a file with a nice Solomode on BGG.😊 The handling is a little bit fiddly. But it's one of a few games where I sleeved the cards, that makes it much easier. 😊

It looks like it will be part of Nerdz Day tomorrow, so I might have to give it a try. Thanks for the heads up about the solo mode! I will also keep in mind about the sleeves. 🙂

Nicely done - thank you! I ordered Earth when I backed the expansion, Abundance. Based on your comments and my research, really looking forward to receiving and playing it. Also played Verdant again - it’s seems like my daughter ALWAYS wins that one - lol. Regarding Mental Health and Board Gaming, “Watch it Played”’s Rodney Smith did a video a bit ago which was also good (and I really like Rodney Smith’s enthusiasm when describing games!). And I see “Daybreak” on your shelf - our family played it a couple days ago and we sold my wife - YAY! Again, thank you.

Thanks Steve! I haven't played Daybreak yet - I'm looking forward to it!

I really enjoy Verdant and Cascadia and I hope to play Atiwa and Harmonies sometime. I play a lot of forest shuffle on board game Marina, with the Alpine expansion, and I have the base game. The tucking of cards is not so bad but it takes up a lot of table space. I don't think it's as good as earth and wingspan, which are in my top 10, But it's absolutely a tableau builder that I really enjoy. I have only played these games multiplayer.

It looks like Forest Shuffle will be one of the games offered on Nerdz Day - I might have to pick up a copy 🙂

It's a fun, puzzly game - I think you would like it. A playthrough video is in the works. 🙂

I really like the format of the monthly vlog of yours. I think it that s a very good summary of the month. Nothing becomes boring, many aspects are being covered in 30-40 minutes. I think thats very unique. And also earth is not a surprise for me and I think the most essential part of the game is that regarding a tableu building game, the game setup and game duration is not frustrating. With all the tension, I think the game just ends exactly where it has to end. Most of the other tableu building games have a couple turns in it where you get annoyed until you set your board ready to do some cool stuff. However in Earth, you have this from the beginning of the game until the end.
Also I would like to ask you that would it still be worth to get Darwins Journey while I have many medium- heavy games. I consider it to buy for solo but I am still not sure if it offers a real unique experience like Feast for Odin or like Earth.
Thank you in advance and please keep up this beautiful work ❤.

Thanks so much for your kind words, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I agree, Earth is a great game! Even if I do enjoy Darwin's Journey a bit more. 😉
Regarding Darwin's Journey, I suggest taking a look at my playthrough to get a sense of how it plays - I also give some of my thoughts at the end of that video (there are timestamps to make it easy to skip around). I'm happy with my purchase of it, even if I were to only play it solo, but I am also very much drawn to the theme, so I can't say how much of my passion for the game is because of that. The gameplay is definitely solid, and it is well-loved by many people. It doesn't hurt that the art is fantastic as well.
As far as being unique, I don't think it is unique on the level of FFO or Earth in the ways that it combines established mechanisms - it's basically worker placement to move on tracks combined with set collection, but it gives me a feeling playing the game that I don't get from other games I have (you can see my owned games on BGG, see the link in the description). I hope that helps! Maybe somebody else will chime in here too. 🙂
      Thanks for watching and commenting!

I bought Tiletum this holiday, like the action selection. It also works very well with 2 players, because the spots on the map are limited. First time I won, the second time my husband beat me. He plays more strategic than I do, so this is a game I think I will lose in the future. The first time I always have the advantage of knowing the rules better, because I always learn the game and teach it.

Haha, I usually have an advantage with first games for the same reason. 😁 I'm looking forward to getting Tiletum to the table again - such a fun game! 🙂

Thanks so much for the video! I also want to check out primates, hope I can get a sense of it before the campaign ends. I appreciate the shoutouts to videos on other channels. Room and Board is one I follow and I appreciated the video of his you discussed here. My wife and I have been going on a July long weekend tenting trip on the west coast (Canada) and have incorporated a stop at an FLGS. On average we've bought a game per visit (two this year). A bit on the pricier side, but great shop and owner. Apparently, they got the designer of Weirdwood Manor into board gaming, got so into it he designed a game! Just another contribution of the FLGS community that makes them worth supporting! I definitely love stopping into FLGS's in my home community, though I don't always buy stuff there. It's relatively easy to stay away from the big online players like Amazon in Canada as the selection and pricing is pretty poor though I'm sure that will change.

What a cool story about the designer of Weirdwood Manor! How lucky to be able to visit the west coast for camping - I grew up in Seattle, and have fond memories of hiking in the lush forests and camping on the coast. 🙂

@@bitsandbiology I do love the west coast! I've been fortunate to visit the US west coast as well, including Seattle. It's an awesome city, really enjoyed it and would love to get back! I'd also love to get out east!

Both I and my son are autistic and we love boardgames.
