I feel sorry for Tianqi; his world crumbled in chaos; all his friends died or were sacrificed to save the Three Realms; he is burdened with unrequited love and for all he is a demon he is still accepting responsibility for everyone he cares for. I kind of feel bad for him.
Tianqi is a true god, but in order to save shanggu he was willing to destroy the three realms, and he gotten yuemi killed protecting him. The same thing happen again with the demon realm in order to save houchu honor, he took away purple moon and gotten the demon realm into chaos, zhihan died as a result. Tianqi is really irresponsible, for shanggu he's a true friend and that why baijue entrusted shanngu and his son to his care. Baijue took over his duty to the demon realm and now mediating the peace between the immortals and demons, he really is a cut above tianqi when it comes to his duty as a true god. If shanggu knew he would destroy the three realms to save her, she would've feel so guiilty, he really doesn't think things through at all, that's the difference between baijue and tianqi and why shanggu fell for baijue and not tianqi.

@@kace97514 Not exactly. Baijue goes all out for duty and love, while tianqi goes all out for love, but what has he accomplished other than made a mess out of it. The reason wuhuan has a reason to start a war against the demons was because what he did in the god realm, his reputation of trying to destroy the world made all immortals distrust him. Also him protecting houchi honor and starts a fight with baijue, gave wuhuan a chance to attack houchi and seriously injured her while everyone was preoccupied. His intention was good, but he made a mess out of it, and cause chaos instead. Even he realizes it himself once zhihan died and made a promise that he will not be so careless any longer. I'm glad he finally understand and want to be more responsible.

The problem with his sacrifice is that he is hurting the people he loves most. I'm all for him risking everything to save Shanggu but it's his method that I'm having a problem with/it's the reason that I'm having a hard time feeling any sympathy for him. He literally stood back and watched as Houchi was almost killed to keep up his charade/because of this Gu Jin ending up having sacrifice himself to save her.

@@kellygears8514 he never learns...lol He took away her choice once before/she was pretty pissed off at him. Now he's doing it all over again but this time his sacrificing himself. She isn't going to be too happy knowing that he took away her choice again but this time she's unable to vent her frustration because he'll be dead.

mother and son team work is funny, my god so alike in many ways loving it. memories weren't taken she understand more, what bummer. her son crack up, must be hard not calling shangu mom, but aunty instead. least good has mother always by his side.
I came back to rewatch the last 10 or so episodes. I really like the True Gods (plus Yuemi who grew up with the True Gods). For some reason, I feel like the True Gods are the most human characters in the drama. Exemplifying family bond, true love, brotherhood, sisterhood, sibling bonds, etc (Sangu’s relationship with Gujun is even more complex from Teacher/Disciple bond to Father/Daughter bond.) I think no matter what kind of bond it is it shares something in common: love and care for that person. They were the most human and powerful beings in the universe but they were also burden with the duty of protecting the entire universe. At which point, they have to make themselves the sacrifice….
