We moved to Switzerland in our retirement and never tire of the views. But the main thing is everybody is happy and friendly, we go for a hike or bike ride and everybody we pass smiles and says hello. OMG, we're sitting here nearly in tears...both happy and sad. We were blessed to have a once in a lifetime opportunity to visit Europe four years ago, and spent nearly a month there primarily in Germany. We spent four days in Switzerland, seeing Lauterbrunnen, Gimmewald, Murren, Wengen, and Zermatt (& the Matterhorn). While we loved our entire month in Europe, we definitely left our hearts in Switzerland...it's truly Heaven on Earth. Incredible landscape, BUT the best thing for me was watching Willa singing, speaking & having fun. This will for sure put a smile on her face remembering her lovely childhood while watching those videos lets say in 15-20 years from now. My parents took such videos using an 8mm camera (no sound) back in the 1960's and I was overwhelmed watching them later on seeing myself walking for the first time, the different fashion of the time, the stroller with big wheels which was like a fantastic journey back in history...

If you are going back to Switzerland, I recommend a day at Lenzerheide. That's close to Chur. In any case, take peanuts with you. In the forest next to Lenzerheide there are a lot of squirrels and birds that come to get them from your hand. There you also have a cable car to the Rothorn. Insanely beautiful. Switzerland is actually beautiful everywhere, but this is one of my favorites.
Fantastic video! I hope Willa grows up to realize how lucky she is to have parents who truly enjoy her company and even are eager to play WITH her instead of just sitting there like lumps(or, worse, neglecting her). Oh, and Tanner especially is quite the athlete so I have no doubt that Willa will at least consider wanting to be a physically fit and active child, teen and adult having seen how much FUN her parents have had in making the most of their athleticism.
Three amazing hikers. and beautiful mountains very beautiful Willa is so sweet singing in the mountains like in Sound of music 🎵🎶🥰 ....now just waiting for some yoddle Tirolian music and Swiss 🫕

Beautiful views!! Willa just makes these videos even more special. Love seeing the cooler temps... It's HOT in Texas right now! This makes my Sunday ❤️
I do feel really blessed right now to live in Switzerland. I live near Lucerne, the view of the Alps, the snow covered high mountains, I can enjoy it everyday. But Switzerland has by far more to offer than just Wengen and the Berner Oberland. The Wallis (basically on the other side of the Jungfrau) is gorgeous, more like the Dolomiti. For your next trip to Switzerland, check the Swiss Railroad (SBB) for a "Halbtax". I don't know the specifics, but they do offer it also for tourists. It cuts your price for the railways by 50% (excluding the really expensive ones - like the Jungfrau)... But still. Also the ride on the Bernina Express... Of course they have nice cars, but it is also can be just a normal train ride, for normal prices. My favorite in Switzerland is the Ticino (Italian speaking part) and also Lac Leman (Lake geneva??).
A great video of my favourite place on earth. Hoping to be back in September. We have visited about 10 times and never ever tire of it. Did Willa realise she was channelling Julie Andrews from Sound of Music. It was lovely how you said the cable car was tickling her tummy so it didn't seem scary at all. What great parents you are 😊

I could not understand the route as I do not know in which direction lies Grindenwald or Wengen. Could you summarize the better route please?
It's so nice to see your excitement. Seems like you had a wonderful trip! I have to say that I have never been to the Jungfrau region (except passing by several times), although I've been living in Switzerland for over ten years now! But there are so many other amazing mountains here, and to be honest, there are too many tourists there for my liking. ;) Did you know that most Swiss people have never been on top of the Jungfrau? It's just sooo expensive, even for residents. So don't feel bad about not going - it's what the locals would have done, too. Btw, next time you visit Switzerland, check out the Lötschental, the Aletschgletscher and/or Arosa! It's incredibly beautiful there.

Wauw the Footage & scenery is just Breathtaking. So agree you could sit and look out at it all whole day 😍 You were very lucky with the weather ,which helps the hike too ( not really nice to hike in heavy rain ) Willa your such a joy to watch ,her sing dance etc ❤️ I been to Basel really enjoyed our selfs, beautiful area , was bit more expensive to buy shopping , but i think you get use to What everything costs once you settle in .( at the moment everything very expensive with the rising cost in General) Have a Great week 🥰 safe travels
Switzerland is a very beautiful, albeit expensive, country and I well understand why you enjoy visiting. The United States has many splendid sights and national parks but, as you are discovering in the short time you have lived here, nowhere beats Western Europe for the variety of wonderful terrain, cities and culture in such a relatively small area. It is great that you are being so adventurous and exploring so much of it during your tour of duty.
Thank you so much for all the pointers and hacks. We are booked to head out to the Alps for 10 days first week of September and we are a family of 5 so strictly camping will be our main accommodations. Do you happen to any suggestion on where we should setup our basecamp? and will it be even possible to do a day trip to Austria considering the amount of time we have planned?
Love to watch your videos, you guys are so great in conveying the awe, wonder and appreciation for the beauty of our planet, which is full of breathtaking views and experiences where ever you go if you can open your eyes to them :) Thank you for making this aware to so many people :D
Beautiful video. Can you tell us exactly where you are at the 47 second mark of the video for the "best view in all the swiss alps"? I can tell it's somewhere in / slightly above Wengen but do you have any more specifics about how to get there? A street address or gps coordinates or anything?
Ok thanks. See it now. Sorry. Is that a difficult / strenuous location to walk to from the Wengen train station? I’m traveling with a group that has some older people in it.
Was there last year beginning of June and you couldn‘t do any hike up there because still snow everywhere. If that was breathtaking for you: Aletsch Glacier by foot and Jungfraujoch by glacier train… just saying :) I love that area, would be there more often if it wouldn‘t be so incredibly expensive (if you don‘t want to camp, to cook yourself and don‘t use any ride…)
My dad always wanted to take me to Switzerland.. He got the chance to visit back in the 70s and immediately fell in love with the place.. Unfortunately he passed away just a few days after my 16th b-day back in 06, so we never got the chance to go.. But, hopefully I'll get the chance to visit, one of these days 🤞.. That would make him happy knowing that I finally got that chance..
We live in Lienz (Osttirol) exactly on the border of the highest Austrian Alps and the Dolomites (We look out on them from our apartment). You guys would love it here and should definitely visit. It is much more affordable in comparison to Switzerland. We moved here from The Netherlands 11 years ago.
I think Switzerland is the most expensive country in europe! But the views are incredable. And Willa seems to be a happy little girl! No wonder with those parents...
Hi, we are going by campervan in Switzerland this September. Just wondering what carrier you guys are using and if you are happy with it? We are also expat living close to dusseldorf 😉

What a wounderfull Trip and wounderfull Video. I have a Health Tipp for you: the UV Strahlung is much higher in the Alps somit is better to Pütz a hat on Spezial for Little Kids like Sweet Willa. LG Beate
This reminds me of my vacation in Austria last year. It was my first time really being in the mountains and I loved it! I gotta go to Switzerland some time.
Definitely! First of all, avoid the tourist traps like the Jungfrau region. Then, there are several possibilities for finding cheap train tickets. Plus, as Risa and Tanner said, camping and hiking help a lot. Swiss people usually don't use cable cars as much as tourists do. A lot of them prefer to hike up and down mountains where there aren't even cable cars available, and the traditional way of doing it is to prepare a picnic of bread and cheese and chocolate at home instead of having lunch at a restaurant. (Yes, chocolate is considered a normal part of a meal here - it's quite common to have bread and chocolate as a snack in the afternoon!) And it also really depends on the region you visit. I guess even the normal groceries are much more expensive in the tourist regions than they are here where the "normal" people live.
Were you there during the World Economic Forum? Would explain the helicopter traffic... it's the shuttle service between Davos and the airport at lake constance.
"Tschüss, bike!" ❤️ Willa is just so adorable!

Thanks for the extremely kind comment 💛. We are far from perfect and life isn't always as it seems in our videos, but we try our best to make the most of each situation and opportunity. We hope she can look back years down the road and notice that effort.
Best wishes to you and God bless!
@@OurStorytoTell thank you!

Great video and content! Cheers from
Switzerland 🇨🇭 😋😎✌️
Love this video! Was just there May 29-June 1. Please tell me you go to Oeschinensee next :D
Stay tuned for the video coming out today at 10am! 😉
Love to watch your videos, you guys are so great in conveying the awe, wonder and appreciation for the beauty of our planet, which is full of breathtaking views and experiences where ever you go if you can open your eyes to them :) Thank you for making this aware to so many people :D
Thank you for such kind words! 😊
…a la la all that clouds.. 🎶😊🥰
Haha the best 🎶😂
WOW!!! Willa has grown so much!
She’s growing too fast!
Best off: "Tschüss bike!" :-)
She’s the best 😂
great video! you should visit lake cauma. for me, the most beautiful lake in switzerland. greetings from switzerland
Ah, lake Cauma was on our list for this trip, but we didn't have time for it. It's incredible though that's for sure! Thanks for the comment 💛
Come to Freiburg with the cable car to the Schauinsland.
Ah great suggestion! 😊
Willa is the Star, look how she has grown
It's so true! It seems now that she doesn't stop growing!
You need to visit Zermatt. Also breathtaking. 🥰
Ahh yes we do!
Beautiful video. Can you tell us exactly where you are at the 47 second mark of the video for the "best view in all the swiss alps"? I can tell it's somewhere in / slightly above Wengen but do you have any more specifics about how to get there? A street address or gps coordinates or anything?
Look in the description to see the exact location :)
Ok thanks. See it now. Sorry. Is that a difficult / strenuous location to walk to from the Wengen train station? I’m traveling with a group that has some older people in it.
Dolomites for the win! Can't go wrong with a hiking trip there
Thank you for taking us with you! :)
Thanks for watching! 💛
And props to Tanner and Risa for bering so athletic.
Aww we hope you can make it there too! 💗 Thanks for sharing!
Ahhhh our DREAM is to go to Switzerland one day. We are currently RV'ing around the beautiful Canadian Rockies 😊
We hope you can! You would love it!! And how incredible is your experience right now in Canada 😍😍 WOWZAS!
Oh my gosh where you live sounds like an absolute dream! We do need to visit your area 😍 Thanks for the suggestion!
I think Switzerland is the most expensive country in europe! But the views are incredable. And Willa seems to be a happy little girl! No wonder with those parents...
yes for sure. was in Switzerland for 10 days, dropped $14,000 aud
Hi, we are going by campervan in Switzerland this September. Just wondering what carrier you guys are using and if you are happy with it?
We are also expat living close to dusseldorf 😉
Hi Samia!

That’s our plan 😊
Hint for people visiting Switzerland: Search for Swiss Travel Pass.
She’s so cute! Never grow up Willa! Please. 😩
AMEN to that!
If you could base yourself in one place for 4 days where would you all choose ?
Monumental..
Right!
0:41 i used to live there 1 min away
No way! Haha that’s awesome to hear!
I've heard that Switzerland is wildly expensive. Are there work arounds?
Camping and hiking definitely help reduce the cost! Also, you’ll see in future videos that we ate out twice, but that was all 😂
Wrong region ;) Davos is in Graubünden, whereas they were in canton Bern in the west.
Have fun guys, also a beautiful Video. &nice background musik.
Amazing 🏔🥾🗻🤗♥️🏞🐣
