Both of them have found hope and trust in each other. Raphtalia isn't afraid anymore and has found her reason to fight, to protect Naofumi. Naofumi has also found his lost trust in Raphtalia which is seen from his calm face when earlier he was fueled with anger. In the last scene they are in a calming sunset.

I've seen a lot of animes around my life, btw i've heard a full list of openings and endings but any one else touched me like this one, when she starts singing with her delicated voice it really feels like one thousand knives stabbing my heart
this is really the best ed of the season, the meaning behind it and the images complement each other so well, it is a simplistic drawing yet so powerful with just a little of analysis, the wrecked ships and buildings show raphtalia vilalge which was destroyed by the wave, where she lost everything, while naofumi is in a barren land full of dead treas as he was framed and lost all meaning to be a hero aside from getting out of there, where each other after they meet, get to change their own lives, with naofumi having found something to fight for as well as raphtalia, really, even more after todays episode where its reinstated how important is that raphtalia stays along naofumi

Coming back to this after seeing the ED2 so much it's kinda nice to see the parallels of them. In this you see that both Naofumi and Raphtalia were alone and had very negative outlooks on life with Naofumi's anger and Raphtalia's fear of it and they find a sort of salvation in eachother. With the new ending it kinda shows that for the most part when they are around eachother it kinda takes away the negativity for eachother, at least that's how i see it, I honestly think the ED's are both perfect both music and video :D
Probably the best anime i've ever watch. I can feel how painful Naufumi was. Thanks to Raphtalia, if ever Naufumi would've find her. He will run from everyone else and he hates to everyone in that world. This make me want to help those who feel painful as Naufumi did, Thank you for making this anime. It feels weird after watching this weekly for 6 months, I'll never hear these endings again after each episode. At least I can still enjoy them like this.
They utilized the continuation of the song extremely well! Just the entirety of it tells about Raphtalia's fears of losing Naofumi just having him by her side, and vice versa, gives her the strength to continue on ... as cheesy as that sounds haha

Beautiful song! is it ok to cry everytime i listen to it? =3 After watching the 1st episode i went and read 50 chapters of the manga in a roll, this series is so good. i'm so happy the show is 2-cour.
It's really intense that Naofumi had to go through all of that to know Raphtalia (and Filo, Melty and the others) and to become the man he is at the end of Season 1, a true hero ready to do what he has to in order to protect others, even his enemies sometimes. It's a work of fiction, but sometimes life brings us in dire situations and only there we can become better persons.
My interpretation: 2 people thrown Into the worse of the world with korhg there for them wandering aimless. Rafttalia the finds the shield thinking he is her Savior. Not knowing naufumi has no idea what to do but he protected her anyways. Rafttalia doesn't know this and feels warmest embrace since her parents died. Amazing anime I cried 😢

I feel like the perfect ending for this anime is if after all he's been through, Naofumi finally goes home, in fact he's still at the book shop in his own world from episode 1. As he leaves the store he runs into Raphtalia whose either human (not to mention 18-20 obviously) or looks human to others and they embrace. Meanwhile Filo is the royal guard of Melty, the new queen and She's also the ambassador of melmorac, uniting humans and demi humans while training new generations of legendary heroes.
Oh, the ending makes room for a lot of different endings, there's one just like the one you said, they go to the real world together, actually there are a lot of different endings, it's kind of a lot of different realities
I just realized this scene and the scene at the very end of the credits in episode 25 are the same scene and location at different times, almost like a foreshadowing. Brilliant.
She loves him so much. The joy, peace, comfort, and adoration this show's creators show in Raphtalia's face is awe inspiring in both OPs and storyline of the show. Raphtalia views Naofumi as a protector, a sweet true guardian/father figure, but yet her true love - her light in her dangerous and cruel world.
I love this op and ending. I love this anime. How do i give it a higher rating than 5 stars because it deserves more. This anime is perfect and it has now decided to crawl to me and forced me to love it. This is now my favorite anime after last night when i first watched it and now i finished all available episodes and i have fallen into depression until the next episode arrives. I will support this anime so the rest of the novel could be animated.

Honestly There's 3 types of ED's I like The Calmer Emotional ones for serious shows The Funny more over the top ones for comedies And The Ones that are Like openings But only if they transition from the Ending of the episode. Seriously, this anime is absolutely fantastic! If you have not watched it, YOU MUST! This ED is really touchy in the heart. The OP is amazing as well. The story is really great and animation is well done. I'm enjoying this anime very well. I love it!
Like symbolism in the ending. As Nao goes with a stern face through the desert, which until then had been the bottom of the sea (judging by the shipwrecks), which shows his desolation. Red sky like hate, snags from the ground like anger and renunciation. And as a meeting with Raftalia changes the world around him: the wind blew (the sea breeze, obviously), the sky acquired its natural color, there was already a smile on Nao’s face. They stand on the top of a sandy mountain, and in the distance one can see the sea. On the sand there are two lanes of tracks intersecting right on top. A simple and clear comparison, if you think about it. And because it is so amazing.

Seriously, this anime is absolutely fantastic! If you have not watched it, YOU MUST! This ED is really touchy in the heart. The OP is amazing as well. The story is really great and animation is well done. I'm enjoying this anime very well. I love it!

Like symbolism in the ending. As Nao goes with a stern face through the desert, which until then had been the bottom of the sea (judging by the shipwrecks), which shows his desolation. Red sky like hate, snags from the ground like anger and renunciation. And as a meeting with Raftalia changes the world around him: the wind blew (the sea breeze, obviously), the sky acquired its natural color, there was already a smile on Nao’s face. They stand on the top of a sandy mountain, and in the distance one can see the sea. On the sand there are two lanes of tracks intersecting right on top. A simple and clear comparison, if you think about it. And because it is so amazing.
