    What exactly is the problem? You have over 5mm of space on your drive side chainstay. They're often not symmetrical because your charinrings have to have room to spin without contacting the frame.

    Is your wheel aligned with the seat tube? I had similar problems with my Merida Silex - the first frame had the same effect as yours. The second frame had properly aligned wheel in rear triagle, but the whole triangle was misaligned - the wheel was off axis. Poor Chinese/Taiwanese manufacturing.

    Hi, thank you for your report. I´m very interessing about the reaction from Cube. I´ve exactly the same problem !! I bought a Cube CrossRace Pro mid of last year. My rear wheel is also not aligned in the frame and therefore I have the same problems with the brakes.Due to the not aligned rear wheel the brake disc is not aligned in the brake housing. So the fine tuning is impossible.
    I also informed Cube about this situation and I´m waiting for any response.
    What was the reaction from Cube in your case? What is the reason for this? What is the solution?
    I´m completely disappointed about such problems, too.

      Hi,
      I have exchanged emails with cube’s representative in our country (Hungary) several times and try to get some clear response for my complaint but they just ignored each time existence of the problem by simply telling me that wheel isn’t aligned properly with purpose (which is ridiculous!). We have very poor customer support from cube in our country, they simply don’t care! My bike is still with the same problem.

    as other guys wrote. I have the same bike. the problem is the mechanics, not the bike. I use it in Russia, in Vladivostok, in tough conditions. and everything is fine with it (1000km). I set the spoke tension by myself and do the rest of the maintenance. Spoke tension should be check after first 50-80km. And there is a problem with the painting of the caliper seat, it is not painted over there, but I think the mechanic apparently scraped off the paint.

    • @letshaveatrip426
      @letshaveatrip426 4 года назад

      I highly doubt that the problem can be fixed with adjusting of sprockets tension because the wheel is perfectly in a center between upper chain stays and very much pushed to the right in a lower chain stay. That means if I align wheel in a lower chain stay than upper gonna be unaligned. The problem is the wheel doesn’t stay the same between 2 chain stays.
      But anyway thanks for your opinion.

    Had the same problem with the rear hub. There was a noticeable play. My bike shop replaced the hub under warranty. I still had to pay for most of the work. Cube only paid for the hub and 15% of the work. That sucks. The original wheels are crap. I bought a new wheelset now. For the brakes, adjusting the brake calipers is a pain in the ass on that bike. Never touch it again once you managed to adjust them correctly.

Now I’ll try to email cube myself and will see what they say.

    Honestly, it looks that the tyre isnt in the center (middle) in both chain-stays (lower part) and the seat-stays (upper part) and it makes sense. I assume that when the bike shop guy did put together the hub (if it was taken apart) he basically just switched drive-side and non drive_side end caps for the hub..

    • @letshaveatrip426
      @letshaveatrip426 4 года назад

      Hi. Thank you for your note. In real it looks exactly in the middle of the upper chain stay, maybe in a video it is distorted.
      So you mean i should just reverse the hub itself? Am I understand you correctly? He put apart cassette and the hub.

    • @LeMADFacteur
      @LeMADFacteur 4 года назад +2

      If it is in the middle between the seat stays (upper part) it really doesn't make sense.. Maybe it looks like it's in the middle because the gap is biger, and therefore harder to spot. You don't need to flip the hub, it's not possible. When you are taking the hub apart, you need to remove the end cups, either unscrew them or just push them on, normally they aren't the same size on the both sides, so i guess that the mechanic just made a mistakes and put them on the wrong side. That also would explain your brakes rubbing. Anyway - good luck. Don't think that the video is a right way to reach a manufacturer, like i said, good luck.

    IMHO chainstays are asymmetrical by design (which is quite common). If the wheel is even it's not possible that it would be aligned on seatstays but not on chainstays. I mean if it would move aside somehow it would also move at seatstays.

      So you suggest me to fix the new bike that I just paid for 1400€ by my own cost?!🙂. The problem is not because I can’t handle it, it is because it has shitty rear hub and cheap brake system. The rear hub again has same travel so and the rear wheel can’t be asymmetrical between lower chain stays (but mine is this way still). So the fact that the support of manufacturer is in a lowest level in our country (Hungary), that’s for sure. I would not ride in Alps or long descends in speed like 70-80km/h with Shimano SM-RT10. XT & XTR rotors are masterpiece (86,99). Freeza (800/900) are good too, but bit expansive.
