Have you ever seen Group B rally from the 1980s? Spectators were in the middle of the road, having to jump out of the way of and sometimes even over the cars. Absolutely mental.
It can be done in a pretty safe way if you know what you are doing. Feeling the car fly past as the exhaust rumbles in your chest is a pretty fantastic feeling. Rally and hillclimb are the best to experience that, being on the side of a track is not nearly as good

Not so Fun Fact: The driver at 4:16 is Robert Kubica. A polish driver known for surviving 2 near fatal crashes. One in Formula 1 in 2007, and the other in Rally in 2011, which cost him the mobility in his right forearm. As of Right now, he still drives as a reserve driver for Alfa Romeo F1 Team and is riding off the back of a European Le Mans Championship win.

The civic in race mode was hilarious.
I believe the driver at 6:06 had a brake failure and was trying to find some runoff area. He ended up finding an exit of the track onto a main road without the ability to slow himself down. He's pretty lucky
You can even hear the noise of the handbreak

if you pop out the hood the fire just getting more oxigen at this time the fire cant stopped by that small extinguisher. he do it right

I love these vids but it does highlight an important point. There are reasons not to stand or spectate on the outside of a curve in rally events. Don't ever, EVER, put your kids in danger.

I have a few things against this video.
1: Most of them were operator failures or unfortunate circumstances
2: Some of the clips weren't even race cars and just a driver on a public road like 8:46
3: Motorsports is like this, sometimes its just inevitable after all it's widely considered a dangerous sport
4: A hood opening up mid race or a tire coming doesn't mean the car is a bad one it could happen to your regular Honda you drive every day to work and home if not maintained properly/serviced in time

After watching how easily these cars collapse on impact, I think I want to buy a Volvo.
They’re actually supposed to collapse so most of the force is absorbed by the car instead of the people in it.

With racecars, the worse it looks, the better it is for the driver most times. They're strapped tight into a safety cell and all the crushing and flying off of major car pieces like tires and engines is designed to carry away a lot of the crash's energy. A perfect wreck would see the car shed everything but the driver's compartment and leave that bit spinning around on the track. Fatal crashes, like Earnhardt or Senna, often don't look like that bad when they happen, just another hard off into a barrier
