  • This is Part 2 of my Where to Stay Hanoi Guide. In this video I take you on a tour inside five mid-range hotels in the Old Quarter with prices ranging from $50-200 USD a night. Booking a hotel online can be a hit and miss since photos sometimes do not reflect the reality of the hotel. Some times it's a pleasant surprise and others a disappointment. The hotels featured in this video are some that I stayed at and some I did an inspection. The purpose is to show you the different styles and price range of the hotels. Since I like to travel comfortably, the hotels I stay in are usually mid-range with inclusive breakfast. There are a lot of cheaper accommodations like hostels and budget hotels but the fact is you get what you pay for. After showing the room, I provide my honest review of each hotel. I hope the information provided is useful for your travel planning.
    *This is not a sponsored post by Agoda or by the hotels featured* I personally book all my hotels on Agoda when I travel. ✈️

    Thanks for the video. I recently stayed in Meritel Hanoi and it was a very nice experience. A mention for the staff: kind, professional and always helpful.

    Thank you for this highly informative video. We will be going in November with my mother who is a senior. She wants to see the Lake and St. Joseph’s. Are most sites accessible from the 5 hotels you recommended?

      Hi - thanks for watching! The hotels I mentioned are in the Old Quarter so it is in walking distance to Hoan Kiem Lake and St Joseph's Cathedral. November should be a pleasant time to be in Hanoi - enjoy your visit!

    Hi there, what are your thoughts on the salute premium hotel and spa ? It's a fairly new hotel.

      Hi - the hotel is in the Old Quarter but on the edge so not as central as others. I haven't stayed here but based on my experience with new hotels - there tends to be inconsistencies with service so just be prepared for that. The pictures are not real but 3D drawings so not sure how it looks in real life. Like all tube buildings - there will be rooms with no windows so if that's important to you, make sure to book a room with windows. Though rooms without windows tend to be cheaper. Enjoy your visit to Hanoi!

      Most hotels have heaters which is basically using the AC unit but turning it on hot instead of cool. I don't know about the budget hostels though.

    Hi there!! In your video, you never mentioned about noise. Is it noisy to stay in the Old Quarter at night? Do you have any suggestions about private tour guides?

    • @traveleatvietnam
      @traveleatvietnam  22 дня назад

      Surprisingly noise is not a big issue but also depends on if your room is a streetview and windows are double paned. For the most part, I did not have any issues with noise maybe that’s why I didn’t mention it! For private tour guides - you may want to contact a local tour company or search on Facebook. Enjoy your visit to Hanoi!

    Hello, I'll be traveling alone. Would there be any budget hotels that are not in alleyways?

    • @traveleatvietnam

      Hi - budget hotels (below $20/night) tend to be in alleyways because the rent is lower so that’s why rooms are cheaper.

    Vietnam could be more enjoyable if the people didn’t throw garbage everywhere and the food vendors practiced safety and hygiene.
