This is one of his best albums. I love Vintersorg and Cia Hedmark. Beautifully talented musicians. I am so glad that I was shown this album 20+ years ago. Still one of my favorite albums of all time. 💛
This ep and opening track always gives me the chills. Reminds me of my old days, when i traveled from my town to Copenhagen to discover this Ep, and heard it on the way home on my way home on my discman, i was amazed at that time, and it still to this day holds, fantastic ep!
In 1999, 17 years old, I was more then ready for Vintersorg. What a genius! Lately as an nearly old man (41 yo), I return to this classics more often, it reminds me feeling and images from my youth. Cheers, mates!
I found Vintersorg when I was about 14 (2004). Didn't think that I would still enjoy as much as I do still today. My first CD was Till Fjalls with the EP as bonus tracks, and I always liked these 5 songs just a bit more than the full album. Stilla is a beautiful song and the vocals on this are haunting and full of wisdom despite my language barrier. All hail!
I don't remember what time or how I got to listen to this group for the first time, but if it brings me many very pleasant moments, it transports me 20 years ago, I listened to make love with my wife, hahaha, it's really very good.
It's a different style and topic, you know nothing about metal with such a foolish (and largely subjective) comparison. The singing doesn't even matter or make much of a difference, he is not a masterful (or wonderful-sounding) singer, he does a fitting style, that's enough, regardless of whether it gets a little bit better. The songs are obviously perfectly written in their style here, they have a certain power of their own that some of his later stuff doesn't have, regardless of how "elaborate" it may get, which is a very basic point teenagers have to learn about metal or rock music anyway... Even if he got better in bits and pieces: this is his first solo release, why even talk about this. It's better to just appreciate how good it is.
