Love the Vantage GTE but the DTM version is absolutely mighty! I hope Aston Martin increase to 6 Cars for the 2020 DTM season rather than the current 4 in the 2019 season.
Armands 17 Yeah, imo this doesn't look like a vantage... I know cars get redesigned all the time, but for something as classic as the Vantage, they should have just let it stay its own thing, and make this under a different badge. This car's grill is just ugly... after such a beautiful car like the db11, they go to this... Gotta say tho, the rear end of the new vantage looks 👌
James Shives well the performance, aerodynamics, body functionality is what matters of course they are not going to build an ugly car but they have to start somewhere
would love to see the new vantage GTE compete full time in IMSA weathertech GTLM with factory backing. Corvette vs Vantage battle at Le Mans last year was epic and it would be thrilling to see that on a regular basis! 60 days to 24 at Daytona :-)
Is it just me who thinks that last generation Vantage GTE(last generation styling in general) looked better? No doubt that it is a future LeMans 24hr Endurance Race champion!
ein lappen yeah i know its just a dream. But Aston Martin right now is serious about doing F1 with RedBull. So its almost imposible for them to return to lmp1. But people like me loves to dream
Its going to be hard to top the old Vantage. That car is timeless in looks and eargasmic in sound. I hate that all the GTEs are moving to turbo engines. They all sound awful. Porsche and Corvette the only 2 left that sound good. Also wish you guys had a team race in IMSA.
Now now, lets not get ahead of ourselves - the only reason the previous Vantage has been competitive is due to Balance of Performance rules in the WEC - if it wasnt for that the old Vantage would be nowhere. That said how wonderful is the new car? I personally love it!
I agree, and it shows. For the first half of the 2017 season the car was very competitive. But for the last half of the season, the car just wasn't fast enough.
Ah! I see they changed the exhaust manifold in the race car to a setup similar to the current BMW M6/M5 (where the exhaust ports are matched to the firing order of the engine in order to speed up exhaust flow). That would explain why it sounds so much like a turbocharged 4-cylinder whilst the road car sounds like a proper V8. Shame they had to do that, but I understand why they did it nevertheless. (for more efficient exhaust scavenging, etc.)
I believe those are called 180 degree headers. The BMW M5/M6 (S63B44T0, "M" variant of the N63 engine) has this exact kind of sound...which is interesting considering it kinda blends both the crossplane grumble and flat plane high-end.
On a normal car, yes. The Lola Mk6 (the predecessor to the GT40) was the first car to have them. But, that only applies on cars where the exhaust ports are on the outside of the "V" of the cylinder block. With these latest BMW/Audi/Mercedes "hot V" engines with the exhaust ports and turbochargers on the inside of the "V" of the cylinder block, there isn't really a need for a complicated 180 degree manifold. BMW just made a one-piece exhaust manifold with the S63, thus easing the manufacturing process tremendously. But, it effectively works (and sounds) the same. I just hate the way they sound. They never encapsulate the true high-rpm wail of a flat-plane crank, but they don't retain any of the glorious sounds of a cross-plane design either. It's the worst of both worlds. But, it is undeniably efficient.
its the reason why audi sport used to test at sebring, "if you can last 12 hours around sebring, you can last 24 hours at le mans" sebring is a brutal test on any car.
not yet but the way business is going for Aston Martin they'll soon be able to afford and compete in F1 they've already sold out the new vantage, it shows there a force in motor sport when they've already been crowned champions in endurance racing i reckon of they came into F1 they would give the mercs and ferrari's a run for there money
I love how race cars are build, tested to make sure they can get a lot of abused, really simple, what you need to drive the car, no radio only team radio, no back seat, no stupid on-board screen... Just what you need to drive the car: Light, turn signal (need those for LeMans), pedals, steering wheel, padle shift, wiper, drink and other equipment, no heated seat, no AC, no stupid heating, plexi glass for windows.
I just can't see the advantage of putting the turbos high up over the engine... it makes no sense heat management wise nor COG optimization wise plus the slight advantage of a shorther path to the throttle body is fooor sure mitigated for the inense heat (lets be honest turbo lag is a myth if you shift right so many techniques to avoid that)
Modern man is in constant state of improving functions from past experiences. Have you ever worked on an American aircraft carrier. Every man on the deck has his service/function identified by the color of his uniform . ........Why don't they (A.M.) use different colors for the piping/tubing/hose connections under the hood/bonnet. For example Brown hoses /hydraulics ...... silver aluminium/engine parts ...... copper tubing housings/electronics ..... blue tubing /water cold & hot ..... red tubing /suction & exhaust .... black housings /mechanical parts ..... Rubber, FRP , Carbon , aluminium, brass, steel can be manufactured in different colors. Aston Martin should become a leader in simplifying functions for all the newbies working under their hood/bonnets.
It is still a V8 engine inside the car ? The sound is different than the 2017 GTE version. The car looks a lot better than orhers GTE cars. AMR will probably win the season and I hope too !
and just to think that Mercedes took less than 130 days from Zero to their first win with the CLK-GTR... recapcars.com/cars/mercedes-clk-gtr-prototype-was-mclarenf1/
Joseph Barnes that makes no sense, BoP makes things fair, when things are fair it comes down to other things and not just the biggest budget. See the dominance of Mercedes in f1 for the last 4 years.
i wish the paint color was british racing green but other than that, a great looking car
Agreed but after a year of WEC the colour has really grown on me , stunning car
Loved the synth wave track in the second half of the vid, Aston Martin setting the new standard for optimised true GT thoroughbred!
Le Mans 24 Hour & World Championship winners written all over it!
This comment, indeed this whole video aged well.
Just here getting hyped for the Aston Martin F1 team in 2021.
Same
Ok. I am a loyal Porsche driver and 911 RSR fan, but I must say my mouth is watering.
Thanks AM for this video, great insight into some behind the scenes!
You’ve got another champion on your hands, congrats!
Love the Vantage GTE but the DTM version is absolutely mighty! I hope Aston Martin increase to 6 Cars for the 2020 DTM season rather than the current 4 in the 2019 season.
I like the race car front grille better than the road car.
I liked the old generation this replaces more. The race car looks sick and functional, the road car must be beautiful, but this one isn't... :/
Armands 17 Yeah, imo this doesn't look like a vantage... Ok well yeah but cars evolve. Some like it, some dont. I just like how the race car grill splits that big intake up a little bit.
M. Redleg For sure, the gte grill looks better than the road car one
James Shives well the performance, aerodynamics, body functionality is what matters of course they are not going to build an ugly car but they have to start somewhere
Can't wait for the season...and for the day when I can buy such a magnificent machine. Good luck AMR.
RIP Vantage Factory Team. May they rest in peace alongside the Valkyrie Hypercar project
Wow! Fantastic Video Fantastic New Vantage road & race versions Bestest of luck Aston Martin Great job!
would love to see the new vantage GTE compete full time in IMSA weathertech GTLM with factory backing. Corvette vs Vantage battle at Le Mans last year was epic and it would be thrilling to see that on a regular basis! 60 days to 24 at Daytona :-)
2020 WEC champion’s Congratulations!!!
Is it just me who thinks that last generation Vantage GTE(last generation styling in general) looked better? No doubt that it is a future LeMans 24hr Endurance Race champion!
And sounded better
@@NubletPie278 A lot better this thing sounds like the gutter.
Come on aston return to LMP 1. The number 007 aston martin lola lmp1 car is always been my bedroom poster that think is beautiful
ein lappen yeah i know its just a dream. But Aston Martin right now is serious about doing F1 with RedBull. So its almost imposible for them to return to lmp1. But people like me loves to dream
They are, the Aston Valkryie
The Valkyrie is a road car, no?
AllAroundMan
They made a Aston Martin pro, which is coming to LMP1
Have a look at it
Source?
you ROCK buddies!!! Congrats, all this is SUPERB!!! Cheers from GOTCHA ITALIA
Looking forward to see it race! Fingers crossed for loads of wins and no major crashes.
I love Aston Martin!
You did it!

Awesome video guys
The fact that AMR went to test at Sebring shows that AMR arnt messing about.
If you do good at Sebring, you have a good car ^^
its the reason why audi sport used to test at sebring,
"if you can last 12 hours around sebring,
you can last 24 hours at le mans"
sebring is a brutal test on any car.
now they should bring Aston Martin to F1
they dont have the money for it

This is actually the birth of a lemans winner right here
Wow gorgeous design!!! I love it!
So much passion! I love it #AMR
Send out the licensing for this car out already! I want to see this in racing sims asap!
The next real aston😍
Is that Brandon Hartley working on the GTE car?

Le Mans 2018🔜🏆
This video aged beautifully after le mans 2020

STILL WITH THE VANTAGE... STILL WITH THE VINTAGE GT!..
Imagine this would be your office😍
i would like this Aston Martin GTE or Vulcan
How do you connect a steel roll cage to an aluminum/aluminium chassis?
Even more beautiful person wow love it
Better change that headlight into a more striking one. And remove the lightbar from the back. BOOM perfect
Good luck for the up coming GTE championship and please add this car into granturismo sports 😊
good luck
at this season
IRacing please, this is the final car in this category, please put it in there, it will be much appreciated to see a completed GT category on IRacing.
nothing like the early model vantages v8 with a 6-manual transmission but, all in all good car
Why is there no credits? (director, production, editing… even music!) I wanted to know who made this masterpiece!
Why didn’t you use the Vulcan?
The car does seems to be faster, but I don't think it has the noise of the last gen Vantage GTE
Looks great! Would love to see it in iRacing!
OMG its so beautiful.

Nice, you could make a GT3 version too.
After Ford's project, this is the next company to design the racecar first and road car later. This looks like a new trend. Is Ferrari next?
Next champion
5:50 - Factory Driver / Surfer Dude
wow, i like this cars
Would love to see this pin it out with the Aston martin vulcan!!!
3:51 omg he’s so cute 🤗
nice one
the only thing the street car gives the race car is the permission to race in the gt series
And who builds these glorious machines?
I think its prodrive
It is still a V8 engine inside the car ? The sound is different than the 2017 GTE version. The car looks a lot better than orhers GTE cars. AMR will probably win the season and I hope too !
Carro! I'm gonna own you one day!
going to miss the sound guys. Naturally aspirated v8s are not replaceable soundwise
RIP ALLAN SIMONSEN
i'm not going to lie i like how the old car looks better
Why isn't the whole thing made of composite like modern supercars?
and just to think that Mercedes took less than 130 days from Zero to their first win with the CLK-GTR... recapcars.com/cars/mercedes-clk-gtr-prototype-was-mclarenf1/
Don't get your hopes up, Ford's GT just won the 24H of Daytona, and probably might win the Mobil 1 12 Hours of Sebring
Ahh, d’après moi, elle est très belle
Now bring it in Gran Turismo sport so we poor guys can drive it too :)
anyone know the music name started at 6:05?
Definitely reminds me of an Toyota. Gt86 and the new Supra
coupe cars look like coupe cars
Can we have this in GT Sport?
Snotty Green!!! Pass on the colour
Team Thiim!!!!
Hell yeah
The front Mazda look kills me. Wtf Aston Martin?
i would have loved a dbr11
Better than Vulcan ?
@@jakebell8648 The Vulcan isn't a sports car (let alone a luxurious car) but a pure exotic track car and nothing more.
thumbsUP!
I like it
I’d daily drive that vantage gte ... if I had one
Build a Vantage V10, and make it look better than the Gt12.
روعة 😍💛💚
AMG engine
Nickiii!!!:DDD
and Marco aswell:DDD
just want to fix the cleft lip look
McLaren speedtail factory fresh
Nice MX-5
Sad that you can’t appreciate something like this...
It isnt an MX-5 bruh
If the headlights look like the one from the MX-5
Take a better look
You will see the old Aston Martin
old aston martin? the rear light is one of the reason why that car doesn't looks like a classic aston martin
That you probably can't afford ;)
A better and a much more luxurious MX-5, you mean
#beautifulwontbetamed 🏁
Yayayayaya
Now come race in america. IMSA needs aston
Andrew Fawcett America should come to WEC the corvettes at le man's sounded so good!
nice
I'm not hating Austin Martin but if the Ford GT 40 weren't so detuned you wouldn't have a chance
Joseph Barnes that makes no sense, BoP makes things fair, when things are fair it comes down to other things and not just the biggest budget. See the dominance of Mercedes in f1 for the last 4 years.
Previous Vantage still looks better...
How
24 Heures Du Mans She's Coming...
Aston Martin vantage gte hw turbo
It didn't win a championship yet...
NIKKIIIIII
