Dark souls newbie here , thus my first purchase was sunless city and yeah it is a great start . So for anyone looking to jump into dark souls , a strong recommendation for sunless city.
I’m also brand new to these games and I went with Sunless City also-these new sets seem much more accessible than the original game. I haven’t jumped into playing yet-I’ve just got all the tokens punched out and organized. I would like to eventually get Tomb of Giants because I really like the skeleton enemies in it.
Yesterday I played this game with 2 CS tomb next painted world Using invasion exp Its really cool, and you can die at 1-st lvl encounter with powerfull hero after 1 CS I hope in future i can buy city
@@cierramorran3442 I'm actually working on it, I just ran out of a color and I'm procrastinating a bit to go to the store hahaha it's coming, I promise!
Hi, the old set is not sold anymore. They are selling now 3 base sets that have different enemies and a couple of different rules. I did a video about the changes which you can find here: ruclips.net/video/prK7x1gdWgI/видео.html The closer to the OG set is the new Sunless City set. I`ve also done reviews for each set so check our Dark Souls Board Game videos playlist to get more info. Cheers!
Thanks for this! I had heard that there were a lot of typos and card errors on the first 2 sets. Is the Sunless City an improvement in that regard? I am interested in solo play-is anyone of these sets better for solo? How long does it take to play a solo game? Thanks in advance and have a great day!
Hi Michael, I don`t recall any typos on Sunless City, so if there are they are not that impactful I believe. For solo, any set would be interesting. It its more about if you had the OG set or not. If don`t have, my recommendation would be to start with Tomb or Sunless. I think Sunless will be more challenging than Tomb for solo. Cheers!
@TabletopDuo How significant are the typos/errors in tomb of giants? Are you implying that tomb of giants might be too easy solo compared to sunless city? Thanks again
So when i have old all in and i will buy new ones can i play with old bosses and other minions? Also what about old equipment cards from basin expansion, or other expansions. What is the backwards compatibility? Such video should be very helpful.
Hey! Love your dark souls content. Question, how can you mix the expansions with any of the coresets or vice versa how can you mix them with the original board game (excluding sunless city)? Much love!
Hi, to mix mega boss expansions, you just add the level 4 encounter after defeating the main boss of your campaign and once that encounter is over, you fight the mega boss. To mix core sets, just replace/mix the encounters and events and replace the mini-main boss with the one of your choice. Now, to mix Iron Keep, Darkroot and Explorers Expansion and the OG game, you can only replace main/mini boss since the encounters are not compatible. You would have to house rule it. Thanks for the support! Cheers!
Thanks for this! I had heard that there were a lot of typos/errors in the first 2 sets is the Sunless City any better? I am a solo player-are any of the sets better for solo play and about how long should it take me to play a solo game? It is currently probably between tomb of Giants and Sunless City for me. I am a new player with only passing familiarity with the video game. Thanks again and have 😂great day!
I have the original game with most of the expansions, so I'm certainly not bothering with Sunless City, but do these new ones work well in terms of integrating with the base game? I know there were some significant rule changes with these sets, so I'm curious what kind of adjustments I'll need to make to make use of my old sets with current rules and scenarios.
@TabletopDuo back after getting the sunless city for Christmas hoping to get a reply. 😂. Just wondering why the encounters from said expansions above won’t work. And is it relatively easy to just kind of change the encounters to fit into new rules? Pretty new to these types of board games.

5:23 The next core set if they make another one will probably be the updated Dark Souls 3 enemies and have the Dancer as the main boss.
I've got the OG game and most of the expansions, so im def going to pick up the Painted World.

Great video, as always
Can you make a video showing how to play the new rules/mechanics with the old base game?
Hi HRGamez, we got you covered :) We did a video of it already. ruclips.net/video/prK7x1gdWgI/видео.html Let me know if it cover your needs. Cheers!
@@TabletopDuo I would like to know if its possible to play the old base game using the new cards and new campaign dashboard and how
YOU ARE AWESOME! ❤❤❤❤
Would be great an unboxing or review of cyberpunk 2077 gangs of night city 🙏🏻.
I got the painted world. I see there is the dancer as a boss from the old starter set. I would like to get her for this version of the game

I have the original DS Board Game. Is that now superseded by these newer ones? Have the core rules changed?

Any expansion would be compatible with these three core set?
Hi! All expansions are with the exception of the encounter cards of Iron Keep, Explorers Expansion and Darkroot. Cheers!

If I have the original game and the character expansion (useless now) is it worth buying the Sunless City? Or should I just get the other 2? Thanks!
I recommend getting the other two, since Sunless has a lot of similar content to the original set. Cheers!

Yes, except for the level 1-3 encounter cards for Iron Keep, Darkroot and Explorers. Cheers!
