Y’all…these are SO good! So tasty, crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside. Join me by the fire at sunset for some fun and learn a new way to make biscuits! 🔥😋
I'm a southern woman who's been making biscuits a long time, and it never occurred to me to flip my biscuits over halfway through cooking. Brilliant! The crunchy bottom is the best part, and now they have TWO bottoms. I'm serious, I told my husband this and he agreed that this is life changing! Hey, maybe it seems like a little thing, but a good biscuit means a lot to some of us. Thank you!!!
Wow Holly cow these are amazing thank you for all your upbeat sharing and the sunset and puppies just loved all and both you and Dewayne enjoying your biscuit and chicken. Delicious way to cook under the open fire. Thank you again Momma 🥰
I’m a woman of a certain age living in the South of England, 1066 Country. What’s happening to my Country now just breaks my heart. To come to your place and hang out with you for some normality and common sense, if only for a few minutes is food for my soul, so please stay with us. ❤️
I'm a 31 years old woman, just married. As much as I truly love Dwayne's channel, there's something special about women sharing their (our!) wisdom with other women, and I love listening to you and learning from your experiences, as you tell them with such tenderness and grace. Please don't let stupid internet haters get to you, they're miserable people, and think of all the other ladies that we're waiting for you to share stuff! I'd love seeing you share some more recipes. It was great to see Dewayne at the end of the video. Much love to both of you from Spain.
Congratulations on your nuptials, @LilacandGooseBerries6653!!! 🥰May God bless you both with much joy, laughter, and a lifetime of love! 💍💍💖💝💖 And she's absolutely right Dry Creek Mama. Keep sharing your wisdom with us ladies, please. And your recipes! 🥯💜😍
Dear Deanne, I'm a young woman from Germany and I can't tell you how much I appreciate you and your husbands courage to get vulnerable and post videos on the internet. Especially since it's hard for you to deal with haters. I think you underestimate the value of your words and your shared experience. You and Dewayne were a reason for me to find my way back to God after a long period of darkness in my life. And you encouraged me to admit to myself and to my partner that I do want to marry and have children. Not everybody can say they've inspired people to do that... But you did. (Even though todays society manipulates young folks to live in sin...) Don't hide your light under a bushel. Demons want to keep you from shining bright. But you have the Lord on your side. I am so grateful for your realness. Much love to you and your beautiful family. ❤
I'm watching this while I'm sitting by a campfire in my backyard (Dubuque, Iowa). I'm not making biscuits, but I am doing some Dutch oven cooking. It is something that I have never done by myself before, and the reason that I am doing it is to get out of my comfort zone and do something new. Your husband's video last week lit a fire in me. I'm grateful. A buck deer just walked by me as I sit here. Life is wonderful.
I just found your and your husband’s channels. This is the kind of genuine content I’ve been needing to see. I know I’m new here and just a random internet stranger, but I hope you can keep the negative comments and people out of your mind and continue to make videos. You are both doing something different than standard RUclips videos, no crazy editing or distractions from the subject at hand, and I know I personally would love more. Real people, with real lives and real stores that should be shared with us young folk. Thanks for doing what you do, I hope I get the opportunity to keep learning from you both. “Keeping it real”, as you said.
You're an absolutely amazing woman momma and Dwayne is an incredible man. We just love all y'all's videos!! Don't worry about the haters they are just jealous unhappy people. I wish y'all both all the love and happiness in the world. God bless y'all 🙏
Ranch wife, campfire cook, and boy-mom in southern Oklahoma! As a fellow knife (and gun) carrier, I love that you had one on you and didn't edit that out or have to go in the house for scissors. Thank you for the new biscuit method to try, and for a cool idea for a new fire set-up for my husband to build! I would enjoy seeing more content from you, in addition to Dewayne's philosophy chats. Recommending those to my nearly-grown sons. Bless y'all for wholesome, uplifting content in today's toxic, artificial, and ungodly world.
I'm from the mountains I'm a hillbilly I have cooked biscuit on open fire I love camping I just retired as a truck driver for 12 years I love cooking on open fire you are doing a great job
I absolutely love cooking over a fire! There's a certain flavor that you can only get from a WOOD fire, not charcoal, gas or propane. It's well worth the extra effort, in my opinion. And I love the scenery from your property, it is a slice of heaven. I don't know if you all would have a chance to buy it if you would consider it or not. Just from what I have seen from you and Dwayne, I would have a hard time leaving it. We had a camp up in the country for years, while living in the city. As the years went by, it became harder and harder to leave it and go back to the asphalt jungle of the city. So we decided to take a risk and go out on a limb and leave our comfortable lives behind in the city and buy a house close to camp. Even though we had 2 mortgages and 2 sets of utility bills etc for a while (because the house we loved just happened to come up for sale before we could even begin to put ours on the market), it was well worth the temporary stress of it all. And our camp stayed within the family. We love biscuits also, even though you could say that we have a biscuit "issue". I like them done the way that you made yours however, my husband likes them "golden" in color, anything beyond that, to him is burned. Lol. I was lucky enough to very sternly be told when I was young to "flip them biscuits" by a lovely seasoned woman who taught me her life's skills of cooking wild game. If we could put pictures in the comments, I would definitely share with you. I am truly sorry that you are having issues with peoples comments. Some are "keyboard warriors" and others are just plain set on being rude and crude. The whole world seems to be going to heck in a hand basket anymore. I could go on and on about my theories on that subject , but I won't. Thank you so much for the lovely video, it was wonderful to see a notification from you. I've missed your sweet demeanor and I enjoy you just as you are, raw and real as you say. Peace...
Great time. Great looking biscuits 😋. Ive done that in skillet & its fun in its own right. You nailed it; its just enjoyable to do. The pups in background, was fun to listen too. View is fabulous. Don't let the trolls & naysayers get to you. Look forward to future episodes, may you'll be blessed.
Words like rain, let em roll off your back rain off a ducks back. Pity the small minded people that think trying to bring other down raises themselves.
Please don’t let people’s negativity make you quit. When someone says something mean to me, I let them talk and then I tell them I’ll pray for them. Peoples criticism is about them, not me. That’s just how I do it. I love how real you are and please, please don’t let these people make you quit. I subscribed to your channel so I can watch your videos. Looking forward to watching you for a long time.
I found Dwayne and he told us about your channel Momma. Great camping recipe using a baggie. We’ll try it! Thank you for sharing your beautiful place with us. Loved seeing the puppies! Steve and Hiromi
Howdy. My wife and I loved your video this morning from so many levels. First, we’ve been talking about making biscuits down at our fire pit with our Lodge brand cast iron Dutch oven. From another level, the heck with those that spew negative comments. Those folks will have to deal with the results of the negative Karma they say. You don’t. I understand their negative comments may bother you…for awhile. However, they don’t define you. You know who you are. They don’t. Good on you and shame on them. Keep your head held high. We are envious of your neighboring landscape and the sunset you shared. We love the West and the Rockies. Glad you folks are experiencing their power and some of God’s amazing creations. Thanks to you and Dwayne (hey Dwayne…we love your channel, too) for sharing your lives with us. Enjoy life and all the positives that go with it. God bless you both and your family. Y’all are our people.
Great work!! I love both your videos!!! My family really enjoys what you do and want you both are !! Our prayers and support!! From Ben and Jenn Carter in Montana Montana.
I am so thankful for your video Momma ❤ Also, for Dry Creek Wrangler School. What a wodnerful team you both make and offer so much knowledge and life skills we can all take away from. Youre an inspiring woman to me, awesome mom raisijng your kids and home schooling. How special is that ❤Keep making your videos. Thank you!
Deanne, watching you I could not resist having a bisquit, I made yesterday, spreaded with butter and French raspberry marmalade; to your health and that of Dewayne.
I have to watch this Video twice, first Time when Momma was watching behind her, the Mountains and the Clouds, I couldn' t get my eyes away from. Loved it. So only at the the second sight i could concentrad on the Biscuits 😄. Excuse my bad language, but I Love your Videos so much, I have to say something about it. Bless your Heart.
You're awesome momma!!! I know them biscuits were absolutely delicious!!! We love what your videos and we wish you all the love and happiness that life can bring!
Well...thank you...for what you do share. We really appreciate. ( Not that it matters, but it kinda does..i wanna let you know who you're reaching) I'm a young African American girl from Michigan and you're content...you and your husband's brings me so much peace and joy. It can be scary...entering adulthood and trying to keep up with everything. Not to mention juggling societies expectations, your own....but when i see your guys content i get moments of peace, clarity and encouragement. I look forward to all that you do. God bless you, and thank you for the video. Writing on my bucket list now, " Make biscuits on campfire"😂😊much much love.
I LOVE that you say you measure with your heart 💕 And being silly def keeps me young. So does laughing. Tell Dewayne that you're extending his life by being a silly rabbit 😊 P.s. I love your view, probably could not deal with the harsh winters tho. And watching your pups play makes my heart happy. Thanks Momma!
Hi Momma and Dwayne, great video and beautiful biscuits I must say. Don’t be discouraged or distracted by people noise their jealous. Please continue your time making great content. I’m a backpacker and Bushcrafter and I believe coffee, breakfast, dinners, aways taste better cooking outdoors. I like Dewaynes cowboy fire cooking it reminds of the old west. Happy Holidays all!
Hi, Deanne. Those look yum and delicious. I used to make my biscuits in a cast iron skillet but in the kitchen. Thanks for teaching on doing them over the campfire. I want to say that I'm a mild and calm person....but you have a very calming effect on me....as I watched your video it was a very peaceful time. So you made me even more calm than I usually am. lol! I enjoyed it thoroughly. And I was so glad you had Dewayne join you to try them out. Oh ya, my mom, brother, and aunt worked at a dairy plant that made butter here in Wisconsin. We had butter all the time....and I love butter, too. God bless you greatly, Deanne. If you like, I'll keep you two and your family in my prayers.
Those are the best looking biscuits I've ever seen in my life. I cannot wait to try them. You're right about words causing harm. Even the Bible agrees with you on that. "Death and life are in the power of the tongue....." (Proverbs 18:21) I recently read a really good book on dealing with these types of situations. It helped me a lot. Here's a quote from the book "When we realize that many nasty remarks come from a place of ignorance, fear or anger, we know that they don't carry a lot of value, and we might as well discard them." I hope you continue to share videos with us because they are such a breathe of fresh air in a very toxic world. Dewayne and you are #1 cutest couple. God bless you both. ❤
Thank you for making your videos. You are a true light in this World and I truly appreciate you and what you are putting out in our World. Stay strong, Sister.
Thank you for the inspiring video making campfire biscuits and the beautiful sunset. I just watched your channel for the 1st time and have subscribed. My husband absolutely loves to listen to Dewayne. We're in East Tn, have 2 quarter horses that were foaled right here. Their momma broke her leg in 2012 at age 20 and I had to have her put down. The 2 I have are in their 20's and are so sweet. Since my husband's health is failing and he is getting weaker, I do all the chores but I don't mind. I keep telling myself I need to find a good home for those 2, because as my husband's health declines, it may become too hard to keep up with everything. It will break my heart to part with them but trusing the Lord. Please keep sharing and may God bless you both!
My kind of video ! I love cooking over a campfire , food tastes so much better. Thanks for sharing the sunset with us , love sunsets too ! I try to watch the sunset every evening . Much respect 👍😎👍
You inspired me to make biscuits from scratch for the first time :) My grandmother makes them all the time, and it reminds me of my childhood. I had so much fun too, and also felt a sense of accomplishment hahaha. Thank you!
❤. I live in Michigan and work in flint , toxicity everywhere. So hard to stay clear minded. Loves you guys.so much deceitfulness , crime and intellectual identity theft and more. I have only just found you two on the internet and, Thank You 😊.
I REALLY enjoyed this video. You’re such genuine people. That’s why I watch Dry creek wrangler school. I hope you can learn to ignore any trolls. I’d like to see more videos from you. 👏 👏 👏 and now I’m hungry for biscuits 😂
💜Love, love, love you guys💜 I feel like I'm home when I watch your vlogs..Your biscuits look delicious, I'll definitely be trying your recipe. Love, light and happiness
Good morning both of you. Thank you for the beautiful videos you make, We love them. We are so grateful that you continue to make them even though sometimes you get negative comments, Keep living your beautiful lives in that stunning location and occasionally let us have a little insite to your world and thought. Love from carl and vic in England ❤
The view is stunning and the biscuit instructions are awesome! Sometimes those of us who love the channel (and Dwayne's) don't post enough positive comments to counteract the negative stuff you have to deal with. So I'll speak up for a change and say THANK YOU! Your content is very much appreciated! And as long as you want to keep putting out content I'll keep on watchin'!
It’s wonderful to see you back making videos. Your genuine life insights from experience has been a blessing for countless people I know. I am their voice here to tell you to please keep going and share all your recipes too. 😂❤
My wife used to make rustic biscuits like that. They were so good! I don't know how you did that so neatly in a bag on your lap. I, and everything around me, would be covered in flour. The dogs in the background were a joy to watch, and the scenery was absolutely stunning. Very nice video, Momma!
I agree with you concerning negative and malicious people. I started praying for the folks that would insult or hurt me. I really helped me process their actions toward me and I also realized after I prayed for them I would rarely think about it anymore. Love your biscuits, thanks for sharing! Renee
I think you guys are just cut from a different cloth. Many people would just take the easiest way to do it. But even baking she likes to challenge herself! Much, much, much respect to you Momma! I am honored to just know you and Dewayne exist and fortunate enough to learn from you both. It's been an honor! ❤ 😂
I have seen a lot of your videos' husband which are very interesting. I have just discovered your own channel and this is the first video seen. Very relax atmosphere and a new recipe for me. Great time! Thank you.
I took your hubsand advice and viewed your channel and it was amazing video. My wife has a new channel to look forward to as she watched this with me and absolutely loved it. Please be safe and always be thankful.
Hi Gritty Momma, I love how you always engage in some routine chore that ends up as a festive magic trick. And thanks for the baking trick, I've been using just yeast in my newfound baking hobby and now I have more choices. Oh, good golly, just look at that beauty behind you. Now, that sunset needs to be captured, through a kid's eye, with a camera of course, taught by an experienced teacher and videographer. I'll bet one little add in your newspaper would fill up a class of eager learners. And your dogs would love to pose for this winter, dogs love the snow. Stay Gritty, Momma.
Thank you so much for making the choice to be vulnerable. It's not fun or easy as you said - we have this tool to connect (it's so special that I can get a glimpse into your amazing life from across the country) and I do not blame you two for struggling with negativity and judgement that is uncalled for. My favorite thing about you & your husband is you consistently teach and speak the TRUTH. Thank you for blessing us with your wisdom. My husband and I are inspired by you every upload!
I appreciate the time you took to make this video. I will share this content with my daughter. It inspires me to try this next time our family goes camping. Thank you!!!
Hi dry creek mama!! This video was sooo cool!! It's inspiring....to get out and try new things! Loved seeing your beautiful video, and cute dogs having equal amount of joy n happiness....w...o...w.... My favorite of many, is when you mentioned love of butter to top off biscuits! It made my day and feel I too can indulge guilt free pleasure of all things butter!! Loved seeing Dewayne make appearance ❤ Great job...I'm a city girl with a cowgirl heart ❤️❤️ love y'all ❤️❤️
When the weather is turning warmer again soon, and I have my fire going in our yard, I'll definitely give this recipe a try! Looks lovely. Greetings from the Netherlands and God bless.
Thanks for sharing this beautiful video. I enjoy baking biscuits! Baking them over an open fire would be something great to try. I love anything cooked over the open fire. Beautiful sunset too!
Started making biscuits very similar to this. I'm all about simple and recently came across recipe. Have made in kitchen and using outdoor bbq. Will be great over a fire, thanks for sharing how you do that. I too enjoy challenging myself, in big and small ways. Your home, with the land and animals and view of sunsets, is wonderful. Shame some people choose to put negative out into the world, sorry you and Dewayne have experienced that. Quality of your video is fine, not to worry. Grace and grit for sure. All the best to your family!
😂 i measure with my ❤ too...even at work 🤷♀️ sometimes someone questions it ..and I walk my handfull to a scale ⚖️ 9-out 10...in dead on balls accurate 😮😮
Biscuits over a campfire and cattle dogs playing.🤩 Doesn’t get any better!❤. No time for nasty people! I’m just always grateful I don’t have to live in their brain! TG 💃. Omg, what a view😎 Make me grateful for my big cast iron🎉 Beautiful! Thanks…😊 Everything is better with butter!!! Totally agree.
I just did this on a recent backpacking trip. Before I left home I took 2 cups of White Lilly self rising flour and cut in 1/2 stick of butter to a fine crumb. I put the mix in a large Ziploc bag like you did. I took a can of condensed milk with me as well as some cooked Neece's sausage. I also put 2 Tbs of regular flour with salt and pepper added in another quart sized Ziploc for making gravy. At camp I put about a 1/4 of the can of condensed milk in the biscuits and saved the rest for the gravy. I had to add a bit of water to the biscuits to get them just right. I worked the dough in the bag just as you did. I didn't make individual biscuits as you but instead pressed out a large one and put it into a pre-sprayed deep aluminum pie pan and covered with another. I used my fry pan to heat some bacon grease that I added my flour mix to for browning the rue. Then I added the sausage to the rue and then the rest of the milk and some water to get the right consistency. The aluminum pie plate aka deep cowboy plate is a heavy type aluminum not the cheap foil type that store bought pies come in. They had a small fire under that got the cooking started then I flipped the whole thing and cooked the other side. That big biscuit turned out fine under some good gravy. If we hadn't ran out of gravy that whole big biscuit would have been totally gone. My Great Grandma use to do her biscuits on top of her gas stove in cast iron and would flip everything over. The cast iron fry pan would be the top and the griddle/lid would then be the bottom. Those biscuits would get a little dark on one side and sometimes both (if I was lucky) I still love the taste. Could be the association to Great Grandma's biscuits and childhood that the flavor imparts on my memory. I managed to pull off the same flavor on the bank of the Linville river in the Linville Gorge 750 miles away from my former Arkansas home. Hopefully I passed on the "good memory" associated with the flavor in those biscuits on that cold mountain morning.
My grandma made the best skillet biscuits ... Everytime I went to see her Id ask her to make me biscuits... She loved to cook ! She made enough to take a few home . She's been gone many years & I wish I paid attention as to how she made them.
I just found your channel, food seems to taste so much better cooked over an open fire! My hubby has to be on gluten free so i miss biscuits but i make corn bread a lot! Gluten free bread is not as good, but i use butter on toast and it helps! So much fun to cook outside! I love to go camping and cook outside!
What a beautiful view, i have lived in Afton, And Pinedale Wyoming , it was so pretty there! Just pray for the those that speak negatively! Biscuits look so yummy!

Best words ever said 👏
Deanne, watching you I could not resist having a bisquit, I made yesterday, spreaded with butter and French raspberry marmalade; to your health and that of Dewayne.
Love the channel, have a blessed week my friend
I wish there were more women like this.
Good women are priceless and I appreciate them. Thank you for being one of them.
Well...thank you...for what you do share. We really appreciate. ( Not that it matters, but it kinda does..i wanna let you know who you're reaching)
I'm a young African American girl from Michigan and you're content...you and your husband's brings me so much peace and joy.
You two are such great parents etc all the best in what you’s do Brian and Glenda Tasmania 🌹the food looks great 👍🏻💯.
You guys are so real 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 keep on bringing these videos
I LOVE that you say you measure with your heart 💕
And being silly def keeps me young. So does laughing. Tell Dewayne that you're extending his life by being a silly rabbit 😊
P.s. I love your view, probably could not deal with the harsh winters tho. And watching your pups play makes my heart happy.
Thanks Momma!
Dewayne mentioned that we should show you some love so thank you for your recipe. I enjoyed watching. I hope you have a nice day or evening.
Hi Momma and Dwayne, great video and beautiful biscuits I must say. Don’t be discouraged or distracted by people noise their jealous. Please continue your time making great content. I’m a backpacker and Bushcrafter and I believe
coffee, breakfast, dinners, aways taste better cooking outdoors.
I love who you guys are and let this positive comment erase 100 negative ones!!!!! Keep going :)
Thanks for sharing this.
I just found the perfect pans at a thrift store and plan on making biscuits next week !
❤❤❤❤❤

Good morning both of you.
Thank you for the beautiful videos you make, We love them.
We are so grateful that you continue to make them even though sometimes you get negative comments,
Keep living your beautiful lives in that stunning location and occasionally let us have a little insite to your world and thought.
Just happen to catch your video! Made the biscuits husband loved them! ❤
I LOVE you whupped out your pocket knife and opened that flour. So something i would do. Ill be tryin your biscuit recipe!
I think it’s great that you keep it real! Great view. Yummy biscuits.
I loved how you grabbed your knife and flipped it open!
Biscuits look delicious and that is one beautiful sunset, Gods country right there
Ma'am, thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom. I appreciate it tremendously.
Dwayne chose the right woman to be his wife & momma bear! Love her videos too! Happy for you both..
Good stuff from good people! Thank you...we are going to try the campfire biscuits down here by Tombstone Arizona!
Love yall! this is great idea for camping w grandkids!❤
It does look fun. I never seen the bag technique before. Lovely idea 👍
I have seen a lot of your videos' husband which are very interesting.
I have just discovered your own channel and this is the first video seen. Very relax atmosphere and a new recipe for me. Great time!
Thank you.
Awesome video! Should do more cooking videos over the fire 🔥 it's the best with coffee. Them you for sharing your recipe, it was good
Thank you for stepping out and being vulnerable. You did a great job. Biscuits look yummy. Blessings.
I took your hubsand advice and viewed your channel and it was amazing video. My wife has a new channel to look forward to as she watched this with me and absolutely loved it. Please be safe and always be thankful.
This video is so comforting and relaxing, thanks momma! :)
biscuits by the fire - wish I was there.
Hi Gritty Momma,
I love how you always engage in some routine chore that ends up as a festive magic trick.
Mix of butter and coconut oil that's genius! Can't wait to try it
Gorgeous sunset; thanks for panning over.
So this is my first time watching your videos and to see you pull out your own pocket knife just impressed me to no end!
Thanks for sharing this beautiful video. I enjoy baking biscuits! Baking them over an open fire would be something great to try. I love anything cooked over the open fire. Beautiful sunset too!
Good people with good videos.
Need more of this.
You are more than amazing , pls continue the videos 💙💙💙💙
Thanks for the video, can't wait for more
You two are so enjoyable and down to earth, I really appreciate your videos. First time tonight to see the Mrs. Great job!
Ya know, ya know!😂
Biscuits over a campfire and cattle dogs playing.🤩 Doesn’t get any better!❤. No time for nasty people! I’m just always grateful I don’t have to live in their brain! TG 💃. Omg, what a view😎 Make me grateful for my big cast iron🎉 Beautiful! Thanks…😊
Everything is better with butter!!!
Butter on one side, homemade blackberry jam on the other. My mom made blackberry jam years ago when I was kid. One of many favorite memory.
You can put powdered milk in the mix so you essentially are using milk when you add water!
Great idea! I used to do that and totally forgot to mention it during the video! 🥛
