I LOVE this, i never liked the orignal too much, was always a bit too slow for my tastes, but i absolutely LOVE this, and i LOVE how they made it their own and didnt just play it the same as the original and gave it their own flair. 11/10!
I think Quietdrive did a good job considering they style is more to pop punk rock. Although I do like more the Chaos Divine version because I like more progressive metal. Relient K did a really cool cover though. Guys check out Andre Leite Africa . This guy is really good though.
Wtf how is this cover sooo good?! An absolute banger, I'm jumping all over the room! This really took me off guard, didn't expect it to be so uplifting lol
i was searching so long for this song! heard it somewhere before dont remember... i mean the original version gives you goosbumps but this trumps it Great job!
Best opener ive seen and theres been a lot of shows ive seen and these guy preform like they are infront of millions of people regaurdless of how many people are really in the crowd
ear the drums echoing tonight But she hears only whispers of some quiet conversation She's coming in the twelve thirty flight The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me towards salvation I stopped an old man along the way Hoping to find some old forgotten words or ancient melodies He turned to me as if to say Hurry, boy, it's waiting there for you! It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do I bless the rains down in Africa Gonna take some time to do the things we never had The wild dogs cry out in the night As they grow restless longing for some solitary company I know that I must do what's right Sure as Kilimanjaro rises like Olympus above the Serengeti I seek to cure what's deep inside Frightened of this thing that I've become It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do I bless the rains down in Africa Gonna take some time to do the things we never had Hurry boy, she's waiting there for you It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do I bless the rains down in Africa I bless the rains down in Africa I bless the rains down in Africa I bless the rains down in Africa I bless the rains down in Africa Gonna take some time to do the things we never had
I hear the drums echoing tonight But she only whispers of some quiet conversation She's coming in, 12:30 flight The moonlit wings reflect the stars that guide me to salvation I stopped an old man along the way Hoping to find some forgotten words or ancient melodies He turned to me as if to say "Hurry boy, it's waiting there for you" It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do I bless the rains down in Africa Gonna take some time to do the things we never had The wild dogs cry out in the night As they grow restless, for some solitary company I know that I must do what's right As sure as Kilimanjaro rises above the Serengeti I seek to cure what's deep inside, frightened of this thing that I've become It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do I bless the rains down in Africa Gonna take some time to do the things we never had Hurry boy, she's waiting there for you It's gonna take a lot to drag me away from you There's nothing that a hundred men or more could ever do I bless the rains down in Africa I bless the rains down in Africa (I bless the rain) I bless the rains down in Africa I bless the rains down in Africa I bless the rains down in Africa Gonna take some time to do the things we never had
People shouldn't be judging an art of any form and saying something they don't like is worse than something they do. artistic forms are a personalized and opinionated thing to talk about. i quite like this and i have heard other songs i like more but the differentiation is one thing i like against the original song. people have said that it isn't the same as the original and therefore it's not 'right'. there is no right way to play music. there exists a musical piece called 4'33" by John Cage and it is an orchestral piece made of three acts of pure silence. 4 minutes and 33 seconds of no notes from an instrument, the music is the background noise and sound of pressure in the skull that can only be heard in silence. it is indeed considered music because it is a sound, anything that is a sound or causes sound in anyway, is considered to be a musical piece in music theory. The more you know
If you wanna hear an homage to the original you go listen to the reliant K cover. If you want something even more upbeat with a rock metal sound you listen to quietdrives cover. Both are good. But personally I like reliant ks cover more. But this is just as good
I’m am on the fence with this cover vs The Animal In Me cover. Both are equally awesome but TAIM’s is slower than this one which I think helps complement the original.
Is cool for groups to search ways to play. Respectfully I must say that between this version and Chaos Divine's cover, butchered, assasinated, destroyed, puked this amazing Toto song. After not paying attention to the song I got to confuse the lyrics with some "Go, go Power Rangers". Keep it up guys, but please, don't cover 60's, 70's and 80's songs. Please.
what songs are covered by which bands is not your choice to make. what you choose to listen to is however so its a cliche but if you dont like it, leave. people care about your taste in music about as much as they care about your favorite colour; its just as subjective.
It just sounds different than the original duder. If you don't like these types of bands, you're definitely not going to like the way their covers sound.
Well yeah, i understand that not all that listen to hip-hop and rap are like that. Sorry for that. But it's mostly they who are "lik dis" that makes the most appearance of hip-hop fans beeing like that. Again, sorry.
I've listened to many covers of Totos "Africa".
This is by far the best version.
Thank you so very much for this song.
Denandu try the Chaos Divine one.
I've already heard it but I like Quietdrives version better!
More power imho. ;)
Dear Weezer: this is what I expected from you. You let me down.
I feel you ,weezer did a good job they just was doing an 80s cover album
@@eric13upinriop weezer’s cover was TERRIBLE. They Totally butchered this song
Agreed. I waited for a good chorus punch from them and it lacked. They did better when I heard them sing it live this summer though.
They may just be, the most underrated band of all time.
Sometimes you can't find the words to express how amazing a song truly is. This, is one of those times.
so far the best sounding hard africa cover, no puking in the mic, just pure rockmetal
Completely agree
This
The original kicks ass and so does this one. Awesome!
Africa with a pop punk rock cover?! Are you serious?!
Two of my favorite things :D
I LOVE this, i never liked the orignal too much, was always a bit too slow for my tastes, but i absolutely LOVE this, and i LOVE how they made it their own and didnt just play it the same as the original and gave it their own flair. 11/10!
Why are there so many haters here? This song is fucking awesome
Gatekeepers bitching that their favorite song was covered, ignore them

I think Quietdrive did a good job considering they style is more to pop punk rock.
Although I do like more the Chaos Divine version because I like more progressive metal.
Relient K did a really cool cover though.
Guys check out Andre Leite Africa . This guy is really good though.
[blessing intensifies]
Wtf how is this cover sooo good?! An absolute banger, I'm jumping all over the room! This really took me off guard, didn't expect it to be so uplifting lol

I really like the cover that Toto did of this song...
I feel a light of inspiration coming.
Wasn't sure about this after the Wayward Son cover (wasn't my cup of tea), but holy shit. This is fucking gold.
Guy's guys. It's not a competition over who's cover is better. Can't we just agree that everyone tastes is different?
Evilkat23 get outta here with your logic! /s
This is the internet. No we can't.
It doesn't even make sense to compare the two, they're going for completely different genres.
No way this is way better than the weezer version!

Yes, toss all us hip-hop fans under one category.
I’m am on the fence with this cover vs The Animal In Me cover. Both are equally awesome but TAIM’s is slower than this one which I think helps complement the original.
WE MUST RECLAIM RHODESIA
Thanks Reddit for letting me know this exists.
I'm just messing around, man. I'm just a well-spoken white boy who just happens to love RUN DMC and Wu-Tang.
Why is everybody talking about the cover
The best song ever? Just might be. Kicks the original version's ass.
+fireburn264 I wouldn't go that far. I think there both equally good
Theyre different styles of music that convey different feelings

You don't fuck with Quietdrive

Member the 80s? member member??
good cover, 50 voices, over produced, but great cover !
Well yeah, i understand that not all that listen to hip-hop and rap are like that. Sorry for that. But it's mostly they who are "lik dis" that makes the most appearance of hip-hop fans beeing like that. Again, sorry.
This is good, still...
I do think that Jonathan Young's cover is better...
It's okay, but Toto sung it better.
I like Quietdrive, but this is bad.
Well at least i have proper grammar and no i am not a pack of cigarettes and yes rap sucks.
Nope. This one's too much for me. Lol
Wow. Each to their own but you get a thumbs down from me
this is not good
Not bad, I like Chaos Devine's better though. this Blink 182 style crap just doesn't thrill me.
Not as good as their time after time cover (n)
