hahaha amazing! yeah I was so nervous as the biggest shops are in Wick and Thurso and then almost nothing for the next 250 miles. the local shops were all open and the Spars were really decent ones! fuel aswell! I dont think I’d dropped below half a tank because i was so paranoid 🤣
yeah it was so amazing in the winter time! we had everything to ourselves! yeah there were plenty of water stops around - the petrol stations (the local ones) seemed to do water and a lot of the public toilets had a hosepipe outside with drinking water! we carried 25L with us so really had no issues!
Personally think the NC500 is overrated, I’ve been up here for a month and spend most my time in the Cairngorms. If you get off the tourist route, you can find some awesome locations.

I did it a couple years ago now. I didn't take any food as I figured there would be a few along the route... I was mistaken :D

can you find water away from campsites and refillable lpg at fuel stations

each to their own! that’s why I went in winter it wasn’t full of influencers and tourists!
@@richard_builds_it that’s exactly why I go in winter, I can’t image what a pain in the ass those single track roads would be in peak summer.
@@Jarv263 Yeah there are times when your on those single track roads for like 2 hours - thankfully it wasnt busy at all!
