Mr Dressup (Ernie Combs), Sharon Lois and Bram's Elephant Show, Fred Penner's Place, The Big Friendly Giant are all fond memories of mine being born in 1985 and all are heroes of mine. Even now I see my 2 nieces ages 3 and 5 enjoy these songs because they are timeless songs! I even bought the Skiddermarink book for them!

I used to watch this show when my children where small. Being the good dad that I was, I would take the kids to see them live in concert! lol. That was so much fun. If I remember correctly it was late eighties and early nineties. Rest in peace Lois! She was always my favorite! 👍👍

4 sure! Wish I could have made the last show but couldn't get the tickets quick enough. They sold out 3 hours after they announced they were coming to NYC Musica Por Favor Fest. My cousin said they did a double encore: Skinnamarinkydinkydink followed up with the Elephant Song acoustic version.

@@skylar2349 You know, Skylar, every year of my life, I grow more and more convinced that the wisest and best is to fix our attention on the good and the beautiful... if we'll just take the time to look at it... or as it is in the case of legendary musical trio: Sharon, Lois(rip), and Bram... if we'll take the time to listen to it...
And I'm confident that I can speak for OUR generation when I say that it's an unforgettable privilege to listen and sing along with the Angelic voices, and syncopated perfection, of Sharon, Lois, and Bram.

@@brandytorres8519 There is something to be said about the authentic, simplicity of Sharon Lois and Bram. I may be bias, because I am related to Bram through marriage, but the sing-a-long style feel of their live performances was not only engaging but special. Whenever I see Bram, I make sure to tell him how special his music was to me. He has explained that a lot of their music stemmed from the trios love for folk music. Many of the songs they sung, they did not write! Did you know Skinamarink was not written by them? Not that it matters, but folk music is timeless, which is why I believe they have been relatable from generation to generation.

Here because I'm sharing their songs with my child. I love that they are were still touring as late as 2018: talk about a lifelong passion! This makes me miss Lois, though. The Elephant Show is such a memorable part of my childhood.

Lois actually retired sometime around the late 90s when her husband died, so they were just the two of them for quite some time, although Lois would occasionally join in for various occasions. Lois also stepped in for Sharon when her husband died, giving Sharon some time off to grieve and do other things. Lois looked quite frail when she joined them one last time not long before she died. So, when she died, it wasn't as if they had to get used to being a duo, but they still saw each other on a social basis fairly frequently, and they were both quite saddened when she died.

How does the audience know all the sounds before they do them? Have they been to other shows before maybe? Or did they hand out the lyrics on paper when everyone entered the auditorium? I guess I'll find out as soon as I can afford tickets next show.

These aren't exactly new songs! They weren't new when Sharon, Lois and Bram sang them 40 years ago! Any kid that grew up with them knows their songs. I don't think they sang any original songs, just standards and covers for kids. It was Lois, however, that added their signature last song, "Skinamarink" to their library.
