    Yeah, the big thing is to keep the coax cable away from other electronics as much as you can. I proved that with having the coax go by my PC laptop, and soon as I turned on the laptop, the stations shut off. We dont have that many stations in the Chicago area. Several are duplicates of channels.

    I wonder what you’d receive if you just went up a few feet higher, and attached the Flat Antenna to the skylight glass!

      Yeah, interesting. I would probably get a stronger signal if I did that, but at this point, I already have all of the network and local channels that I want. I'd probably get more foreign language channels that I don't need.

      A single Tablo unit will stream to up to six (6) viewing devices (TVs, phones, Roki/Firestick/Android devices) concurrently via Wifi or ethernet.

    Because of the many rave reviews of the Tablo Quad I purchased one directly from the manufacturer. I was able to set it up successfully but after that it was a total dud. I would have to constantly power cycle to allow my network to find it. I contacted customer service for help and I enabled remote for them to troubleshoot and they couldn't connect either. After 5 days of going back and forth with CS I finally got fed up and requested a refund and I had to pay for the return shipping on a defective product.

    Your area you live in is the biggest factor in how many channels you can receive number of channels in your area
    Other factors of course factors like trees and building materials factor in .

      Are you using an outdoor antenna or indoor? Outdoor will get you the most channels. If you're using an indoor antenna, here are some tips: www.disablemycable.com/blog/antenna-tips/

    So the 150 Channels has everything to do with your Location and where you placed your Antenna but The Tablo is just a DVR that also accepts Antenna Input but it doesn’t actually boost or help you get more channels right??? 🤔

    I was told that the Mohu leaf antenna isn’t good and I just bought the Tablo. I want a good antenna
    Any suggestions

    • @disablemycable
      @disablemycable  8 месяцев назад

      You'll get the most channels if you get an outdoor antenna and have it professionally mounted on your roof or attic. In my testing of indoor antennas, I actually found the Mohu Leaf to perform quite well compared to the others: www.disablemycable.com/mohu-leaf/. Often people blame the antenna when fact they have weak TV signals and require an outdoor antenna. - Brian

      I used a very old hard drive that I had laying around. I think it's over ten years old and it works fine. So, any hard drive you buy today should work.

    • @disablemycable
      @disablemycable  Год назад

      Yes, absolutely! The point of my video was that by using the DVR's tuner, I could put my antenna in my skylight and not have to run a long cable down to my TV. But, if that doesn't apply to you, by all means, plug your antenna directly into your TV! - Brian

      @@disablemycable Thanks for the quick reply. I was reading about the Tablo and the AIRtv everywhere and it seems that the AIRtv is newer and has better reviews online. @@prenticelennon3087 Please let me know how the AirTV works for you. I've never tried it but I do know the Tablo is more popular. One concern I'd have about AirTV is that it could be discontinued (in light of Amazon discontinuing their Fire TV Recast DVR due to less interest than expected). I feel like Tablo will be around for a while but I'm not sure about AirTV. Case in point, the Tablo Facebook page has constant activity and I receive their mailing list regularly. The AirTV FB page hasn't been updated since 2019. Same with their Twitter page. That might not mean anything but it does make me wonder.
