God, this is one of my favorite jokes ever. Out of any show, it's so fucking funny. How it quickly escalates, Homer's reaction, him covering his son's eyes, the delivery of every line it's all golden. It's even better in the episode.
This would be a great steel mill to work at, even if you're straight. Everyone seems nice and friendly, there's scheduled disco breaks daily apparently, and there's no annoying, insecure old men trying to have a pissing contest with each other
2 important questions: 1. I'm not gay, but this place actually looks really fun to work at. Wouldn't Smithers be happier working there? 2. Does this gay steel mill have a fire escape?
The Spanish language dub of this clip is so much more funnier. If you understand Spanish and or have a remote understanding of Latino gay culture, check out the dub.
this is totally offensive....carrying a 55 gallon drum of molten steel without any safety gear! that stuff can cause 3rd degree burns! and those sparks getting in their hair is liable to cause major scalp burns. tsk tsk tsk such negligence in this steel mill, try harder gentlemen!
No goggles, no fire retardent clothing, handling of molten metal by hand, no propper fittingvhelmets... This entire place is an OSHA inspectors dream 😂
What's funny I remember watching this when I was about 5 maybe 6 and that's was back in 96 I still remember my father laughing at this even though didn't get it. But still holds up
Lines I found funny: *”Has the whole world become gay?!”* *”Stand still! There’s a spark in you hair. Get it! Get it!”* *”We work hard, we play hard.”* *”Hot stuff, comin’ through.”*
...Probably because it is. The only positive parts here are that the crew of the mill are owning it and they're sharp enough to snark back at Homer at the drop of a hat -- meanwhile their behaviour is insultingly stereotypical, and Homer's reaction is AAA-grade 90's homophobia. A 50/50 Good/Bad ratio is still a fail, you need 60% to hit a D.
The joke is Homer thinks he can ensure Bart grows up heterosexual and gets married. It might sound weir but back when Homer was married in the original timeline it was assumed getting married improved your life drastically.
Best thing about this was at the dedication at the end of the show...."Dedicated to the Steelworkers of America. Keep reaching for that rainbow!"
Lies again? American Education Dutch Indonesia
Lol
@@NazriB Eh?
Imagine how strong that dude is to carry a 55 gallon drum full of molten steel
Ikr!!! I am so sad
That's about two metric tonnes of steel. Dude is built
I was thjnking the same thing. It would weigh too muck even if it was water.
While not even wearing a shirt let alone anything protective.
Always wear protection, kids!
He works hard.
In the German Version, that "hot stuff" joke was even better "Carefull there comes something hot from behind" :D
Sehr richtig, Kamerad
On the latin american dub, when Homer says "You're all sick" the gay dude says "And it's not the flu, fatty" lol
That part in latín American say "here comes the good, young people"
Oh man, I’m hearing that with a German accent in my brain 😂
@@RandalfElVikingo si, y no es gripe gordito

Best part for me its sooo good ha
At his wits end
"Why did you bring me to a gay steel mill?" He says, as if that's a well-known variety of steel mills 😂
All steel mills are gay
@@ScotteiCovers And the railroads. And you know what else?.... Broadway
Yeah you know I never got that one 😅
Is the steel industry really gay and if so why? What am I missing here?

The Simpsons are kings of escalation!
I just love the “oh be nice” comment. It has shore leave levels of gay and I love it!
Oh man. I miss Shore Leave already.
Way funnier in spanish:
Homer: You're all sick!
Steel worker: Yeah, and it's not the flu, fatty.
U too ? U lie man honey. ooh it's contagious lol
@@dailyplanet354 Spain spanish dub is batter imo
Homer: "You're all insane!"
Steel Worker: "You're the insane one here baldy (in femenine)"
Love that large spinning fan detail - a staple of the era
"Cheer up Homer, the entire steel industry is gay" -Moe.
Shocked Smithers didn't turn up
Who says he hasn't been there before though? =D
I’m sure he comes there every once in a while 😉
Just like the submarine
He probably came in the rear entrance
Smithers is "Burns-sexual"; he's exclusively attracted to Mr Burns and Mr Burns alone.
RUclips trending is probably someone's history at RUclips.
As soon as the whistle and the steam went, I knew exactly how this would run, you loveable, adorable bastards.
This whole bit is hilarious, but I especially love when Bart says "why the hell would I want to see that?"
Can still remember when this came on TV. Me n my Dad killing ourselves laughin. “Stand still there’s a spark in your Hair! Get it GET IT....!!!” 😂😂😂
I died on that part aswell 😂😂
So your dad's a homophobe. Good job.

Those dudes are so insecure that the only way they can make themselves feel better is by exerting their manliness. WEAKLINGS!
I’m straight and I love the song “Gonna Make You Sweat”.
I may not swing that or any way for the most part... but man it'll be fun too work there!

Easily one of the best scenes from the time when it was so tightly written that all of it was genius.
Fantastic.
I'd never noticed the guy dancing in front of the turbine until now.
I thought that looked awesome!
He is the unsung hero of this scene
I love how hard Homer tried in this Episode 🤣🤣
We work hard, we play hard
Man that disco break looks awesome, that mill should moonlight as a nightclub during off hours, I'd go.
Oh my God this was a throwback and it was amazzzing
A classic and one of my favorites
Because of this scene every factory or warehouse I've ever worked at I'd imagine what it would be like if it was turned into a night club.
That's what the heyday of raves in the 90s and 00s did
They're all gay for Moleman!
YOU'RE ALL SICK!
oh be nice.
The campness of that line is too good.
how is this number 36 on trending??
LoL Basilee Hahaha wtf
0:44 that scream is hilarious

00:31 was the beginning of the single best minute of Simpsons history! 😂
2 important questions:
1. I'm not gay, but this place actually looks really fun to work at. Wouldn't Smithers be happier working there?
2. Does this gay steel mill have a fire escape?
somehow it feels like this workplace is not OSHA approved
I can confirm speedos do not provide sufficient protection to carry 4000 pounds or two metric tonnes of molten steel.
That’s because OSHA doesn’t know how to boogie.
If you know what I mean....
But it is HOMOSHA approved
thats because they're gay
Hilarious. Use to play this video at Revolver in West Hollywood in the 90s. Everyone loved it.
Can we all appreciat the nude steelworker carrying the drum of molten metal was using oven mitts
😂😂😂 make me laugh so hard he said oh be nice we work hard now we play hard 😂😂😂😂 this is good
this is probably the greatest scene in all of the simpsons history
Shout out to Homer's character growth because a few seasons later he's officiating gay weddings at his own house!
