Tbf it came out the summer after say so which peaked at 1 so between those two there is a jump but Boss Bitch was tied to a movie and one that was not exactly critically acclaimed (although it was still good) so that explains why it wasn’t a massively successful record.
I think it’s because like he said it’s for a playlist of birds of prey which the movie itself didn’t market that high either but both the song and the movie were underrated I hope it’ll blow up or die hating the song is a bop and the McKuen was really good imo
She’s on the track to it, she’s collabed with industry veterans/legends such as Nicki Minaj, Eve and Ariana Grande and out of all the new female rappers out right now she’s the most interesting. Megan raps about the same thing and most people feel really tired of that right now, the City Girls have the Megan thee stallion problem while also just being less interesting and worse lyricists and Saweetie does more ads and modeling that rapping and benefits too much from pretty privilege. This isn’t me lowering women to raise another but just showing how Doja Cat really doesn’t have much competition right now in her field, only male rappers (which she doesn’t really need to compete with directly) and Nicki who she shares Barbs with. As long as Doja Cat stays on the good side of the barbs and keeps putting out good music she’s going to get big as those two. If anything she feels like Nicki’s most direct successor for the crown of the queen of rap, as long as she focuses on longevity, improving her craft (because she has great energy and switches her flow well but she could stand to improve her lyricism), getting successful singles and high profile collaborators.
I was hitting it like a boss bitch myself when I heard the song first. 😩 Def deserved more credit. Actually, that whole Birds of Prey album might be one of my favorite soundtrack albums ever.
the verse from doja on boss bitch was CRAZY but it got overshadowed by the intense corniness of the hook, which honestly took me some getting used too. but that "I took and I ran for it / I run it and I stand on it / Money on the floor trynna dance on it / we shine bright you looking the time on it" makes me astral fucking project
I thought the lyrics of that part were: "Said I took it and I ran for it, I won it then I stand on it, money on the floor when we dance on it, shine bright let 'em put a tan on it."
Say so will always remain in my heart even if no one streams it. Say so was my whole 2020 cringe me, who I will not forget. And boss bitch is not a flop. It’s probably her 6th best hit now.
tbh she is one of the very few artists nowadays who I think deserves her share of popularity and deserves more than 1 no.1 on the chart. her style and versatility says it all....she literally has like 3 different voices and her videos are so amazing
How are you content having your entire identity be these random basic artists, not saying they’re not talented but complete worship? I don’t get people like you and I’m genuinely wondering
Is it just me that was expecting the said "flop song" to be from her album, Amala? I mean it has bops too but it isn't her strongest album. But anyways stan Doja Cat y'all! K bye ✨
it was a strong album for sure, but hot pink is what really rocketed her career so it makes sense that Amala didnt do as well as it wasnt in the spotlight.
Remember these charts are usually the audience's fault for streaming less. So there's none to blame but each fan themselves regardless of whether an individual considered a song extremely bop or a total flop
The fact that her ‘flop’ is a fucking BOP just proves how talented she is. Shes the only artist i’ll defend because i know how great she is!!! Whatever she drops is pure magic and is ALL HER!!! She been doin this shit PURRRIODT!
Omg that's the one I know all the words to 🤣 I did love it from the film. In the movie it's like harley's pov in the club but in the music video it focuses on Doja!! 💗
Wtf? Boss Bitch is such a bop
YES I THOUGHT IT TOPPED THE CHARTS IT WAS ONE OF THE FIRST SONGS I HEARD FROM HER
@@heyhihello9543 it’s not radio friendly, that’s why
@@itsbarbiebitchhhhhh yeah but it isn’t as marketable, the song was made for a rated r movie, and when it came out it was being overshadowed by say so
Getting into the hot 100 is already a lot though
It did well in the uk
Boss B*tch is a whole bop, it peaked at 100??? wtf
YES

Fr! I watched the whole movie bc of the song
YES
want her so bad to be famous as Taylor swift or Ariana grande. She deserves so much, she's my inspiration
I mean on spotify she’s ranking higher than ariana
Yass
Nah Doja is the top female artist at the moment! She might not be as famous, but her career is HUGE rn
She is getting there, just give her a bit more time

BOSS BITCH IS LITERALLY ONE OF MY TOP FAV SONG. I’m surprised cuz it’s been in sooo many edits
Key word is edits lol the original has too much going on I only like the remix I saw with Azealia banks and Nicki Minaj with doja
Doja Cat makes SUCH good music
They’re good
She puts cocaine in them or something i swear
frr
exactly!! i wonder what this woman puts in her songs bc damn they're so addictive
I was hitting it like a boss bitch myself when I heard the song first. 😩

That album is the whole truth girl power
@@bayourican882 exactly!
Although Rico Nasty should've been in that soundtrack. But Boss B chorus too repetitive, kinda annoys so I get iy.
The fact that “Boss Bitch” went viral but ONLY chart at #100 … I’m honestly shook and can’t comprehend this 😭
i remember hearing boss bitch when it first came out and NEVER stopping. how’d this flop??
It's just a chart, but we can't deny that all of her song was addictive and ✨ iconic ✨

@@markshaw3711 LMAO
I love say so too😍but at this point it sounds like something to put on when you’re torturing someone😭
Mind yall that there were only two female rappers so far that charted a movie sountrack: Nicki and Doja.
Lil Kim too back in 2001, she peaked at Number 1 with Lady Marmelade
@@EriboxBeatbox yeah but i mean, considering the other artists in it... ^^
Doja is not a real rapper she is a pop star

Doja Cat is on the right path y'all , she's rising and getting the recognition she deserves.

you know an artist is successful when even their lowest charting song is a hit
Her lowest bop is a good bop too, she’s literally that talented
❤️ I _LOVE_ how he ends the vid with-
