Bartley rode 4 winners that day and served notice that he'd be a force to reckon with in the jockeys' championship in 1991, which he went on to win. Section 2 saw the Joseph Thomas trained Fahrenheit making all with Teddy Dacosta astride. Nice memories 😊
Really interesting watching the riders of years past. The top ones were excellent, however, the jockeys’ school has made the average rider better now than back then. Fewer were able to keep a consistent straight course and many lost all chance by going unnecessarily wide in the turn.
Going wide in the turn and drifting off a true-line was a bad habbit that most of those jockeys adopted. I still wonder where they got it from. We hardly see it now unless the horse has a habbit of doing it. Great races Rohan, I had Fantastic Pooh and Farenheit as my quinella in that race but Bustling Bee came between them. Still would like to see Khaddulah beating The Viceroy on 3 consecutive races ( Khadullah in his prime) and Sweet Rukus vs Savage Waters as well. Happy new year everyone, may God bless us all...
