I lived at Islington/Eglinton which is 4km from pearson runway, and our frieds house was near Eringate park in Mississauga which is 2 km away. I can tell you that 401+427 make way more noise than planes landing and taking off from Pearson.
The CEO of the GTAA is calling for the development of Pickering airport. They are less than 10 years away from max capacity. 50,000 local jobs, 13 billion a year in economic activity, $500 million a year in tax revenue. To choke now after all the careful planning, land set aside for 40 years just to plan for the capacity problem pearson is now facing, would be an act of insanity.
