Thank you for sharing! People normally gate keep this kind of info or don’t show it! I have asked people what they use and they say they don’t want to tell me. I don’t understand why people hate keep the information - normally i’m not making the same thing as you and might be making for a completely different audience as well,, and would be using my own designs. I’m not stealing your audience / customers in doing so. That kinda thing drives me crazy. I appreciate you sharing this info, because it’s incredibly difficult to find this from anyone! Hope you’re having a lovely day!
You’re welcome! Also like I say in the video, sometimes it’s really expensive to find a manufacturer and you spend a lot of money trying to find the right one, so sometimes it’s understandable. Just be sure to ask some of your art friends too! ☺️
Thank you for sharing this! I hate when people see me as competition instead of a colleague. I want to make my own plushie that NOT EVEN intended to be sold and they just keep gatekeeping. Thank you!!
Oh my gosh totally agree with how some artist gatekeep their manufacturer ! I was going to buy a pin from an artists & when I asked them where they have their pins created- they didn't want to tell me. They said it's not good when lots of artists use the same manufacturer. I appreciated that they were honest but I totally did not buy their pin
As someone who designs products and works with factories for a living I wanted to say that this is a great overview. However, I have never manufactured or sourced my own designs so that part was really inspiring to see. Good on you for going for it! Also, anyone who is complaining that you are not providing confidential sourcing information is ridiculous.

as an (ex) product designer, it actually doesnt matter if the design is in cmyk or rgb, but you need to call out every color that is on the design as a pantone color so that the manufacturer can reference it. some programs have a tool for this (like Adobe Illustrator) otherwise you would need a pantone swatch book and manually match the colors. i am impressed at what you could figure out without art school or professional product design experience!
@@stinarhardy8563 I usually write "PMS Black" or "PMS white" (PMS - pantone matching system) there are different tones of black and white so if you want a specific one there should be a code for it. if it's just plain black or white then you can just do pms black or pms white. As well, there are coated and uncoated pantone swatches. the color varies depending on which you choose. coated is for glossy objects like a mug and uncoated is for matte objects like fabric.
@@veronicaporlier I assume you probably have one now but just putting out there for people reading - a pantone book may be something a library would have or you can request for your library to buy!
Thanks for sharing Veronica! You were very thorough in your manu. search and tips for communicating with manufacturers. The plushes turned out SUPER cute. I'm totally gonna pre-order a lil' clementine-so sweet. 🌈
Thank you for ALL the information. Us new comers really appreciate it. It’s so overwhelming at the beginning. You are amazing. I am coming back to your pateron. I’ve been missing my stickers and postcard every month. It was such an exciting time for me. I so want the plushies. As always much love from 6breakingloose
I cannot stress this enough yall, make a new email specifically for this. Your email will be PACKED full of Alibaba messages and ads 😂 also when I did this for some odd reason all my coworkers got bombarded with Alibaba emails as well as emails about my design which kinda freaked me out lol
speaking of color profiles: my little lazy "hack" way of doing it is to draw in rgb like im used to and then add a white layer over top with the opacity down. i find that this keeps the colors i like and still keeps it from coming out too dark which can sometimes happen when sending an rgb image to the printers. ive only made stickers and acrylic keychains so far, but ive been super happy with the way the colors have turned out doing this! perhaps not the most professional way of going about things, but if it aint broke, dont fix it edit: i will also note that i draw a lot of animals, so browns and basic colors mostly. bright colors likely won't turn out as well with this method
Hello Veronika! Yout two designes turned out so nice as pushies 🥰 Thank you so much for all the information you shared in this video! It's super helpful 💕 Figuring out RGB and CMYK is pretty difficult for me aswell but it has to be done 😄 Have a lovely day!
Hey! I loved this video, and had a few questions of my own. I know depending on the manufacturer it will be different, but how long from sending in and agreeing on a design was it until you got to see a photo of the sample plush?
Omg thank you so much for sharing. I'm psych too and i want to produce plushies for my clients but i don't know where to start haha i have lots of ideas. I don't design but i think I'll hired someone to make my dream come true 😂 Agreed with you that trial and error is a must. thanks you thank you for sharing. BTW your plushies are so cute!!!!
Hi, really cool toys! I would like to design my own but I'm confused with a number of available manufacturers - I don't know which one is noteworthy. Can you share which one you chose?
I watch this video by chance and it comes to me that it seems you are looking for a manufacturer, is there anything can help? I have been working in this industry for few decades.
Thank u for sharing ur process of the sample photos ! I’m going through the same thing where it feels discouraging when they updated plush doesn’t look as imagined but it’s really helpful to know this is just part of the process and that changing manufacturers is fine too :) ur plushies are very cute I love clementine
Just come to me with this video by chance, indeed, I am coming from HK and working on Plushies (merchandiser) for number of years. As one of my interest, I even know how to handmade the sample. Is it possible to help you in anyway?
Interesting video, but I’m a little confused how the fact that you spent money makes you want to share less info. The only people who profit from that lack of sharing are the companies who do “bad” work, like the first one that you ordered samples from. The next time someone is in your position, they might also order samples from that company and lose money in the same way you did. So even if it’s not your goal to cause suffering, the result of you not sharing all the info is that more people will suffer the same way you did. And it’s not like the money you spent becomes a better investment if you keep things secret.
Exactly. This is the second person I’ve come across that gate keeps for this. Why not charge for the info, or ask the manufacturer to give you a commission for the referral??
You said you were more hesitant with sharing information about oversees information because you had to spend a lot of money etc. Why would you want to put other people through that? If you're going to make a RUclips video to help people, then help them. Break the mold and don't be like other gate keeping people. Knowledge should be free. You wouldn't have to spend so much money if more people helped you.
I literally tell you step by step how to find a manufacturer. Some of you just want the easy answer for me to just tell you exactly who I use. I’m teaching HOW to do it, not just giving the answers. As a business owner, I know exactly why this is a bad idea and most other business owners know this too.
