Gertrude Berg .... a jewel. !!! and a wonderful actress.... I have NEVER seen anything she did I didn’t like..THANK U from the bottom of my heart for posting her amazing work in television 🥰
Thank you so much for sharing this.I really want to see next weeks show! Funny, but Elgin hour should have sponsored this particular episode, given its title.
Funny flub at 45:52- Gertrude is supposed to be talking to LEON, but accidentally says "Simon" several times... Finally you can hear the other woman in the scene softly whisper "Leon" to get her back on track 🙂
Certification of patriarchal society. A woman's life is incomplete without a man. Whether father or husband. Further, descriptive of the 1950s nuclear family. With Gertrude showcasing its hopeful devotion and naive sentimentality.

The more I see of this Woman the more fascinating She is to me. She does ONLY this one type character...does it well...and is never boring.

It fits a little better....and you don't want to be around lazy men
All of those neighbors were nosy and overbearing. Not every one wants their neighbors in their personal affairs. They should learn what "NO" MEANS !
I think you're missing the point.
