After WWII Germany would have collapsed totally if all the people working in the administration had had to be replaced. It was a matter of necessity to retain them. It is a known fact that many people who supported the third Reich and were part of it were not exposed and went on to become professors, judges etc. This was one of the reasons for the student protests at the time. Seen from this view, the cause of the RAF appears to be noble. However, the ends don't justify the means.

All in all if we want to be honest we have to admit that the RAF was a reaction to a bigger crime. Is that not strange the concentrated powers are not responsible for their actions? Today Syirians, Yemenis are dying and no one cares. Back then it was Vietnam and everybody knew it was wrong but no one did a thing. And after too many useless demonstrations RAF decided to take it to the next level and ultimately they were not alone in this fight. The Weathermen in the US did the same thing.

It is interesting to hear these interviews 20 years on. Some of them have gone on to successful carreers, what have you. In the interviews however they give the impression that they still believe in the pseudo marxist doctrines of Meinhof & co. Also, in the interviews they deny direct involvement in acts of violence, condone the violence committed or at least don't condemn it. Surely they would understand with hindsight that what they did was wrong.

@rillar100 It looks like it was made probably in the 80's or early 90's when comunism was still a threat for the free world and the wounds of the Baader Meinhof Gang hits (and many other anarchist groups that operated in Europe those days) were still open... the script, the way the narrate it it's so biased! Still interesting thoug...

    Goverments made this happen finnaly.
The Raf yust stood up to change hateful ways. Goverments can make people flip...cause they have the power to use us and walk all over the people..Ulrike listened to that oldie song often; "Gonna walk all over you in my big black boots...
    Peace
