It makes me wonder. Decade was an experiment and then Toei decides to use the same thing in Gokaiger. Now Zi-O is kinda doing the same thing as Decade just a little differently

I love the horror stuff, but I'm surprised it was in a kids show, even in Japan. I guess Hibiki scared them off of that going forward. It actually seems more genuine to go from the films up through Hibiki, as modern Rider really started with Kabuto.

My personal ranking of Heisei Phase 1 Kamen Rider IMO:
    1. Kuuga
    2. Agito
    3. Faiz
    4. Kabuto
    5. Blade
    6. Den-O
    7. Hibiki
    8. Ryuki
    9. Kiva
    10. Decade

The things that i liked about heisei phase 1 is that they are feel less toy ey
And sometimes the comedy isn't really overload
Also lacks of collectible related plot

I'm curios if you're gonna do Decade in Review with Ultraman or Metal Hero.

I don't think Ryuki's introduction of the collectables via the card decks was an experiment. Keep in mind that Ryuki came out in 2002. What came out the year before? Gaoranger. Super Sentai and Kamen Rider both being under Toei, it's fair to claim that the success in Gaoranger's collectables (Power Animals) influenced how Kamen Rider would develop. They saw that collectables sold real well, so they probably thought "there are no giant robots in Kamen Rider, so what do we make" n then someone screamed "THEY ALL USE THE SAME BELT! EASILY-PRODUCED CARDS! *very loud distressed old man noises*". They proceeded to look at that disturbed old employee and snap their fingers, for he had come up with an amazing idea. The fact is if a company sees that one method is working for one product, they will try to use it in other products for equal success and income. This really solidified in Decade when it simultaneously introduced the Final Kamen Ride figures and the Ride Cards.

They are only made when we get to the endnof an actual decade review wise. You will have to wait until we are done with Zi-O and Ryusoulger respectively.

Hesei era was actually a lot more mature than the neo-hesei. The protagonist/characters had way more variations. The problem with this era is that the mystery dangles so long, that when you get to the reveal it's either anti-climatic or you lost interest because it took too long. I've also disagree with the first installment being "incredible"
I'm sorry but Kuuga is just so boring. Kuuga being the way it is, is not boring because it's a "J-Drama" in fact Blade and Faiz is more drama heavy than this so it has nothing to do with The fact that it's a J-drama. The characters are just wooden, the narrative structure becomes waaayy to predictive and the story stalls thus losing the audience interest.
Quite frankly, Faiz sets up to the characters really well and their origin had me captivated because a lot of them came from a tough time. Blade is definitely the best rider in this decade because the show started out with a cannon mystery that have you intrigued from the beginning and had a satisfying ending to all the characters struggles. Kabuto created a mystery that was good. You've wondered if the agency is corrupt and it was good seeing a strong main hero in control.
As for Den-o. It stands out so much in phase one because the tone is really different from what came before (Blade and Hibiki) and after (Kiva and Decade). If you compare it to other sentai series such as Magiranger and Dekaranger it's pretty fitting in that franchise. Despite that show being very comedic, it still have a lot of dark story telling with the victims especially in the first two episodes.

I would actually argue Ryuki was the best Kamen Rider Series. But yea, Blade is also easily one of the best in the Heisei Era, and is VERY close.

@@TheGloryXros Ryuki is pretty good too but I felt like how the monsters came about and the mirror world was explained in a half-ass manner. I am still trying to figure out how the main villain sister reflection just comes alive after her death. It's a bit random.

@@saiyautang4088 That's the idea. It's not a tokusatsu where all the extra Warriors will team up with a main character and became a team.
The main idea is that they fight to the battle of death while giving us stories each character and the owner visions for wanting to participate in the war.
