  • Hello friends!! Hope you’re all doing well and thank you for stopping by!!! We’ve been looking forward to this explore for quite some time, but needed to wait for nicer weather to help get rid of some of the snow on those beautiful BC mountain peaks!! So, after a good week of warm weather, we headed out to this giant copper mine close to home. Not every adventure goes as planned and this is a perfect example of that… From not making it to our destination because of SNOW and making the decision to leave our gear and bikes along the trail, to failing equipment!! We recently upgraded our lighting, or so we thought…….We’re now currently looking for a better option if you know of a brand we should try, let us know!! lol. We were also having problems with our gas monitor. It was constantly going off and wasn’t going to do us much good on our explore this time. Fortunately a replacement is on its way!! This mine explore will be the first of a few for the area. With several levels and a 10O man camp, we’re definitely looking forward to what else we can find, especially with our metal detector, so stay tuned!!!!

      Thanks for watching this one too :). We’d like to go back up this one, with better gear, but that’ll have to wait. There’s probably six feet of snow there now and it’s essential travel only for a bit because of the storms and road.

Really enjoyed the video.

    Cool adventure. The motorcycles getting you into shortened your hike a bit. Cool mine. Scary cave ins though. That trestle area with the rail switch gear was pretty neat. Game of tic tac toe, a bit of water, and neat exploration. Glad you made it out safely. Have a great day.

    Very nice explore! I've been into a few of those wet mines visiting the Yukon. Don't ever be shy to turn back and stay safe, rotting wood gases are no joke! If you need a reasonably priced flashlight checkout the Sofirn 33. Mine is on it's second season. I use mine with a usb-c cable to keep it charged and seems reasonably fine with splash even with the cord connected. I pop it into a leather tape measure holder when I need to get over stuff or to let it cool down. But like all flashlights without a fan it will get warm and reduce power.. Not before it melts a hole in your pocket. :) Extra flashlights are always good, I learned the hard way having to use my cell phone to exit a mine.

    • @AdventuresRUs
      @AdventuresRUs  3 года назад

      Thank you for the great comment, we’ll definitely take a look. We did have a couple extra lights but they weren’t bright enough. We didn’t think our new light would die so quickly on its max setting but lesson learned! Thanks for watching and stay safe.

    Canadian tire sells a flashlight brand called Coast. There is a red one that we use in our mine searches. Inexpensive and variable beam. Takes AA batteries. Great job.

      @@AdventuresRUs - oh yes, i could imagine, wet feet = no fun. as to artifacts, my 1st mine explore was 1975, LOL. i seen a mine that had wrought iron candle holders in the walls for lighting, i will never forget that, i been hook ever since. i am very lucky, because i seen many mines before this youtube boom, they had every artifact you can think of.

      @@AdventuresRUs - Olights are amazing and have used them for years. Actually, i just got the Fenix HM65R-T, my other LED headlight gave off a bit of a purple hue and anything less than high, the dreaded flicker. Around the house the Fenix is amazing. Heading out soon to try it out, waiting for it to cool off in Death Valley. Next week a dip is coming. 2 day window like going to the moon, get out quick. I will let you know how it works. I am going to compare to my other headlamp for fun.

    This mine I think I would want to buy Kevlar boots going up to my crouch steel plated foot with heavy padding in side they would have to be leather laced more then 1/2 up. I'm sure they would get hot in the summer rather sweat then rip my leg open. have a full face motorcycle helmet flip up face with speakers and mic radio talkey.and light. they do sell those. they cost.
