യോഹന്നാൻ 3
1 പരീശന്മാരുടെ കൂട്ടത്തിൽ യെഹൂദന്മാരുടെ ഒരു പ്രമാണിയായി നിക്കോദേമൊസ് എന്നു പേരുള്ളോരു മനുഷ്യൻ ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. 2 അവൻ രാത്രിയിൽ അവന്റെ അടുക്കൽ വന്നു അവനോടു: റബ്ബീ, നീ ദൈവത്തിന്റെ അടുക്കൽനിന്നു ഉപദേഷ്ടാവായി വന്നിരിക്കുന്നു എന്നു ഞങ്ങൾ അറിയുന്നു; ദൈവം തന്നോടുകൂടെ ഇല്ലെങ്കിൽ നീ ചെയ്യുന്ന ഈ അടയാളങ്ങളെ ചെയ്‍വാൻ ആർക്കും കഴികയില്ല എന്നു പറഞ്ഞു. 3 യേശു അവനോടു: “ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു; പുതുതായി ജനിച്ചില്ല എങ്കിൽ ദൈവരാജ്യം കാണ്മാൻ ആർക്കും കഴികയില്ല ” എന്നു ഉത്തരം പറഞ്ഞു. 4 നിക്കോദെമൊസ് അവനോടു: മനുഷ്യൻ വൃദ്ധനായശേഷം ജനിക്കുന്നതു എങ്ങനെ? രണ്ടാമതും അമ്മയുടെ ഉദരത്തിൽ കടന്നു ജനിക്കാമോ എന്നു ചോദിച്ചു. 5 അതിന്നു യേശു: “ആമേൻ, ആമേൻ, ഞാൻ നിന്നോടു പറയുന്നു: വെള്ളത്താലും ആത്മാവിനാലും ജനിച്ചില്ല എങ്കിൽ ദൈവരാജ്യത്തിൽ കടപ്പാൻ ആർക്കും കഴികയില്ല. 6 ജഡത്താൽ ജനിച്ചതു ജഡം ആകുന്നു; ആത്മാവിനാൽ ജനിച്ചതു ആത്മാവു ആകുന്നു.
