We have a similar story in Romania and it is even darker. Instead of 7, the goat has 3 children and the Wolf eats two of them, leaving only the heads, which he puts on the window, as proof that he had been there.
There was once an old goat who had seven little ones, and was as fond of them as ever mother was of her children. One day she had to go into the wood to fetch food for them, so she called them all round her. "Dear children," said she, "I am going out into the wood; and while I am gone, be on your guard against the wolf, for if he were once to get inside he would eat you up, skin, bones, and all. The wretch often disguises himself, but he may always be known by his hoarse voice and black paws." - "Dear mother," answered the kids, "you need not be afraid, we will take good care of ourselves." And the mother bleated good-bye, and went on her way with an easy mind. It was not long before some one came knocking at the house-door, and crying out: "Open the door, my dear children, your mother is come back, and has brought each of you something." But the little kids knew it was the wolf by the hoarse voice. "We will not open the door," cried they; "you are not our mother, she has a delicate and sweet voice, and your voice is hoarse; you must be the wolf." Then off went the wolf to a shop and bought a big lump of chalk, and ate it up to make his voice soft. And then he came back, knocked at the house-door, and cried: "Open the door, my dear children, your mother is here, and has brought each of you something." But the wolf had put up his black paws against the window, and the kids seeing this, cried out, "We will not open the door; our mother has no black paws like you; you must be the wolf." The wolf then ran to a baker. "Baker," said he, "I am hurt in the foot; pray spread some dough over the place." And when the baker had plastered his feet, he ran to the miller. "Miller," said he, "strew me some white meal over my paws." But the miller refused, thinking the wolf must be meaning harm to some one. "If you don't do it," cried the wolf, "I'll eat you up!" And the miller was afraid and did as he was told. And that just shows what men are. And now came the rogue the third time to the door and knocked. "Open, children!" cried he. "Your dear mother has come home, and brought you each something from the wood." - "First show us your paws," said the kids, "so that we may know if you are really our mother or not." And he put up his paws against the window, and when they saw that they were white, all seemed right, and they opened the door. And when he was inside they saw it was the wolf, and they were terrified and tried to hide themselves. One ran under the table, the second got into the bed, the third into the oven, the fourth in the kitchen, the fifth in the cupboard, the sixth under the sink, the seventh in the clock-case. But the wolf found them all, and gave them short shrift; one after the other he swallowed down, all but the youngest, who was hid in the clock-case. And so the wolf, having got what he wanted, strolled forth into the green meadows, and laying himself down under a tree, he fell asleep. Not long after, the mother goat came back from the wood; and, oh! what a sight met her eyes! the door was standing wide open, table, chairs, and stools, all thrown about, dishes broken, quilt and pillows torn off the bed. She sought her children, they were nowhere to be found. She called to each of them by name, but nobody answered, until she came to the name of the youngest. "Here I am, mother," a little voice cried, "here, in the clock case." And so she helped him out, and heard how the wolf had come, and eaten all the rest. And you may think how she cried for the loss of her dear children. At last in her grief she wandered out of doors, and the youngest kid with her; and when they came into the meadow, there they saw the wolf lying under a tree, and snoring so that the branches shook. The mother goat looked at him carefully on all sides and she noticed how something inside his body was moving and struggling. Dear me! thought she, can it be that my poor children that he devoured for his evening meal are still alive? And she sent the little kid back to the house for a pair of shears, and needle, and thread. Then she cut the wolf's body open, and no sooner had she made one snip than out came the head of one of the kids, and then another snip, and then one after the other the six little kids all jumped out alive and well, for in his greediness the rogue had swallowed them down whole. How delightful this was! so they comforted their dear mother and hopped about like tailors at a wedding. "Now fetch some good hard stones," said the mother, "and we will fill his body with them, as he lies asleep." And so they fetched some in all haste, and put them inside him, and the mother sewed him up so quickly again that he was none the wiser. When the wolf at last awoke, and got up, the stones inside him made him feel very thirsty, and as he was going to the brook to drink, they struck and rattled one against another. And so he cried out: "What is this I feel inside me Knocking hard against my bones? How should such a thing betide me! They were kids, and now they're stones." So he came to the brook, and stooped to drink, but the heavy stones weighed him down, so he fell over into the water and was drowned. And when the seven little kids saw it they came up running. "The wolf is dead, the wolf is dead!" they cried, and taking hands, they danced with their mother all about the place.

@@k1ller_dodo106 I may be mistaken but I think the author of little red Riding Hood used this story as inspiration... Don't quote me but I think I remember reading that somewhere
As I have heard the wolf story it’s a bit different (I might be wrong I haven’t heard it in a long time) So, there is a goat mother and her 7 children, the mother leaves to buy some food, water (ect) ; before she left the mother told the children to not open the door. The children listened then played as their mother left to go buy some stuff. The wolf came and knocked on the door and said : “Open the door children, it’s your mother.” The children then replied : “No, you are not our mother, we will not open the door!” The wolf sighed and left to the market place to get some eggs to eat to soften his voice and make it a higher pitch ; the wolf went back and knocked on the door and said : “Open the door my children, it’s me your mother.” The children checked the glass in the door and saw his paw was grey and replied : “No your paw is grey, our mother’s paw is white, we will not open the door!” The wolf sighed again and went to go to the market place stick his paws in flour ; he came back to the house and knocked then said : “Children it’s your mother, open the door.” The children heard the high pitched and soft voice then checked his paw and saw it was white and let him in. One by one the goats hid. “Come our children.” The wolf said in a low voice for the eggs have wared off ; he then found the oldest then gobbled them up, then second oldest, ect, ect. The wolf said something again: “come out child, join your brothers!” The youngest sibling stayed quiet. The reason the wolf couldn’t find him was because he was small enough to fit inside the coo-coo clock. The wolf left in frustration and the mother goat came back to the house, as she came in the youngest goat came out. The mother goat asked why the house was such a mess and the young goat told her everything that happened to his brothers and the house. The mother took a pair of scissors and a sewing needle with thread and went outside with her child to see the wolf asleep by the local pond ; to full from eating. The mother goat cut the wolf open and one by one the children hopped out, the mother goat told the children to grab some pebbles then to put them in the wolf’s stomach, they did as their mother said then the mother goat sewed the wolf back up and they returned to their house and peered through the window to watch the wolf wake up. A few minutes later the wolf wakes up and goes to drink some water as he is thirsty. As he was drinking he fell into the pond and drowned. The goats all cheered in delight and lived happily together. Well done if u made it this far in my comment, I hope u enjoyed the retelling of the version I have heard ^^
savi I didn’t know X3 I’ve only heard it in this way, it’s not as popular in Bulgarian story books (or story being told) but the phrase , don’t open the door or the wolf will get you, is popular in bulgaria 🇧🇬

If there's nothing else I take from this video is the fact I love the story! What lovely little puzzle and so beautifully crafted. Thank you for sharing
Love the wolf belly concept - but I really wish it was three little goats that popped out of his belly, then maybe the chalk as a final stage. Would love to also see puzzles based on traditional ghost stories - ohh that would be so cool.
I thought it was so well made, I agree with you totally Chris. I was thinking gosh I’d love to get one the have on my coffee table and nearly died when you said the price. Keep up the great work and I hope you are feeling better.
Once when I was little, I heard a version of the little red hood story, that in the end both the granny and red hood got eaten, but the hunter opened the wolfs belly while he was sleeping and saved them, and while the wolf was sleeping they filled his stomach with rocks, and just like this tale, when the wolf went to drink water, he drowned I guess the version I've heard was mixed with this Japanese tale
Sarah's Stuff true, I didn't realize how dark it was when I was little but looking back now I feel sorry for the wolf, it's not his fault that he's a carnivore lol
I am from Germany and here it is one of the most popular versions of the tale. But I think every country has there own version.😊 (Also is the tale of video also german as far as I know🤷♀️) Sorry for my english
I really like these puzzles because they’re creative and make sense. For example, the bear one, he needs to go to work and needs his glasses. Of course first you have to find the clock to tell the time, next find the train ticket to travel to work then finding all of that leads to finding his glasses. Like you have open the suitcase (I think) to find the clock, then find a compartment in his suitcase to find his train ticket, then finally he finds his glasses.
I think the story is wrong unless your talking about a different story. Just so you know I’m Japanese and I my mom would read me story books from Japan from my auntie so I think this is how the story is told. This is basically a Japanese version of little red riding hood but they changed some things I guess. ok here’s how the story would go: Once upon a time there was a girl with a red hood. Her mother asked her to go give her grandma who lived in the forest some food in a basket. the girl agreed and she left the house to go to her grandma’s house. While she’s walking a wolf is following her, but she doesn’t notice. After walking for a while she sees a a bunch of flowers near a river. She said to herself: Oh! What pretty flowers! I should go pick some for grandma. So then she walks to the flower patch to go pick some flowers. The wolf is following her so After she picked enough flowers she decided spot back, and go to grandma’s house. But while she’s turning back the wolf hides so the girl doesn’t notice him. She walks back to her route and continues. The wolf is trying to catch up but when he’s trying to get out of the flower patch a bee comes and stings him. He yelps but the girl didn’t hear him. The wolf over heard the girl talking to herself saying she has to go to grandma’s house. So the wolf’s took a short cut to reach her grandma’s house before the girl. The wolf reached the grandma’s house and knocks on the door in a high pitched voice as if it was the girl. The grandma fell for it and opened the door the wolf scared her and if I’m right she screamed then fainted. The wolf ropes her up and traps her in a closet. Then the wolf proceeds to dress up like grandma and eat the little girl. While that’s happening the girl finally reached her grandma’s house and knocks on the door. The wolf says in a grandma voice “come in my girl”. The girl opens the door and go’s to the grandmas bed which laid the wolf pretending to be grandma. The girl says, grandma? When did you ever had a large ears? The wolf says it’s so that I can hear your beautiful voice of yours! She falls for it. And then asks again, Grandma? When did you have such big eyes? The wolf’s says again, It’s so that I can see your beautiful face of yours! She agrees. And proceeds to ask a again grandma when did you ever have a big nose? The wolf says, It’s so that I can smell you! She starts getting confused and asks Grandma, when did you ever have such big teeth? Then finally the wolf says, ITS SO I CAN EAT YOU UP! The girl screamed and gets eaten with the grandma. The tree cutter guy heard her scream and runs to the house. He sees the wolf with his HUGE stomach and knock him out. The wood cutter guy starts to open up the stomach to free the girl and the grandma. Then they (what you said) start putting rocks in his stomach. They threw him in the well and he drowned. And the girl, grandma and the wood cutter guy all had a picnic. And I don’t know what happens after the girl returns home. The end. I’m pretty sure that’s how to story goes but I think yours is a different one but has some similarities. Thank you for your time reading this!
In some versions of the tale the wolf puts one of his paws in flour to turn it white cuz the kids refuse to believe him, i think he also puts on a dress? (This was the version I have in a fairy tale book but its been years lol) The youngest kid hides in the clock to avoid capture, in some versions the kids also have names: do re mi fa etc The one thing i never understood, how the hell do you get a softer voice by eating chalk? I know it’s a fairy tale but that is the one detail that is just “huh?” To meXD I also expected there to be a little goat figure to be in there but the chalk works too

I literally read that story when I was little 😂 I think I still have the book.
same! in the Netherlands we have an amusement park based off of these little tales. it includes the story of the wolf as well
This is the first time I've ever heard that story. It is very cool :D
Its the little red riding hood i think thats what its called in english
@@Brother_Autism no thats a different story, altho it is quite simural ;)
@@k1ller_dodo106 I may be mistaken but I think the author of little red Riding Hood used this story as inspiration... Don't quote me but I think I remember reading that somewhere
As I have heard the wolf story it’s a bit different (I might be wrong I haven’t heard it in a long time)
So, there is a goat mother and her 7 children, the mother leaves to buy some food, water (ect) ; before she left the mother told the children to not open the door. The children listened then played as their mother left to go buy some stuff. The wolf came and knocked on the door and said :
“Open the door children, it’s your mother.”
The children then replied :
“No, you are not our mother, we will not open the door!”
The wolf sighed and left to the market place to get some eggs to eat to soften his voice and make it a higher pitch ; the wolf went back and knocked on the door and said :
“Open the door my children, it’s me your mother.”
The children checked the glass in the door and saw his paw was grey and replied :
“No your paw is grey, our mother’s paw is white, we will not open the door!”
The wolf sighed again and went to go to the market place stick his paws in flour ; he came back to the house and knocked then said :
“Children it’s your mother, open the door.”
The children heard the high pitched and soft voice then checked his paw and saw it was white and let him in. One by one the goats hid.
“Come our children.” The wolf said in a low voice for the eggs have wared off ; he then found the oldest then gobbled them up, then second oldest, ect, ect.
The wolf said something again: “come out child, join your brothers!”
The youngest sibling stayed quiet.
Well done if u made it this far in my comment, I hope u enjoyed the retelling of the version I have heard ^^
in germany, this is a really popular fairy tail for children
savi I didn’t know X3 I’ve only heard it in this way, it’s not as popular in Bulgarian story books (or story being told) but the phrase , don’t open the door or the wolf will get you, is popular in bulgaria 🇧🇬

Every puzzle Chris touches is his favorite.
Or whatever one is in front of his face.
The story is a well known canon in children's literature. I was surprised you didn't know it. But the puzzle is amazing and so beautifully made!
“Obviously, the solution isn’t going to be obvious”
Isn't this originally a German story by the brothers Grimm?
I think
He literally says it in the video lmao

If there's nothing else I take from this video is the fact I love the story! What lovely little puzzle and so beautifully crafted. Thank you for sharing
Love the wolf belly concept - but I really wish it was three little goats that popped out of his belly, then maybe the chalk as a final stage. Would love to also see puzzles based on traditional ghost stories - ohh that would be so cool.
"i'm not going to link it because you can't afford it" - Chris
I thought it was so well made, I agree with you totally Chris. I was thinking gosh I’d love to get one the have on my coffee table and nearly died when you said the price. Keep up the great work and I hope you are feeling better.

This is actually a romanian folk story written by Ion Creanga ( the romanian name is "Capra cu trei iezi")

I heard the Brothers Grimm Story "The Wolf and the Seven Goats" the last time when i was a small kid ... maybe since 22 years now :3

Once when I was little, I heard a version of the little red hood story, that in the end both the granny and red hood got eaten, but the hunter opened the wolfs belly while he was sleeping and saved them, and while the wolf was sleeping they filled his stomach with rocks, and just like this tale, when the wolf went to drink water, he drowned
I guess the version I've heard was mixed with this Japanese tale
I think I've heard that too! It's a bit darker than the other version :0
Sarah's Stuff true, I didn't realize how dark it was when I was little but looking back now I feel sorry for the wolf, it's not his fault that he's a carnivore lol
I am from Germany and here it is one of the most popular versions of the tale. But I think every country has there own version.😊
(Also is the tale of video also german as far as I know🤷♀️)
Sorry for my english
Nala 100 your English is fine, I’m from Brazil and I’ve read a lot of different versions of the story, I guess it varies from author to author
I have heard that one to.
Dang, this channel looks so cool!
I like stories snd puzzles. I subbed, hope to see more of this story telling content!

Jeah it's one of the grim tales
How did the wolf not wake up when his stomach was literally getting *CUT OPEN?!*

I remember reading this one somewhere when I was little.
That artwork is AMAZING!!!!!! VERY TALENTED YOUNG MAN!!!
That was one of my favourite fables when I was a child , it certainly brought back some memories 👍, blessings Sarah 🇬🇧
In some versions of the tale the wolf puts one of his paws in flour to turn it white cuz the kids refuse to believe him, i think he also puts on a dress? (This was the version I have in a fairy tale book but its been years lol)
The youngest kid hides in the clock to avoid capture, in some versions the kids also have names: do re mi fa etc
The one thing i never understood, how the hell do you get a softer voice by eating chalk? I know it’s a fairy tale but that is the one detail that is just “huh?” To meXD
I also expected there to be a little goat figure to be in there but the chalk works too
As soon as I heard the story I remembered some old VHS from when I was a kid had an animated version of it.
Shit was wild
