It’s so tragic, especially when you can’t continue training/competing right away. I’ve gone through a similar injury on a smaller scale, and my ankle brace constantly reminds me of it. Bless his heart, glad to see him playing again 🙏

I had this moment, it was the worse thing that happened to me that almost stopped my career. I was playing for a National Tournament in our Country back on 2017, then during the semifinals i teared my Achilles tendons, I was immediately sent to the hospital, Our team lost the match it took me 3 years to recover I am still recovering until now, I cant play extreme Volleyball yet it might take atleast a year or 2 more before I am completely in good shape.
@@StanoZeema Active ankles are great, a little bit pricy but they work. I use Muller ones that are half the price but same model with straps. Haven't had an ankle injury in over 10 years.
@@volleydude6455 I don't know. They wasn't pricy for me. lol 35 dollars per one Active Ankle. That's a little price for healthy ankles. Besides that, many volleyball players often forget one thing. If u will wear ankle braces for a while ur ankle's are going to get weak and at the first training without them you'l probably get an injure. Source experience + other volleybalists feedback.

It hurts just to see it happen. Just happened to me a few days ago in a friendly match as well, difference is that I landed on the opponents foot, and my ankle got into a weird angle
This happened to me last year and apparently I didn't get better every time I play for more than let's say 2 hours I can't run anymore cuz it's starts hurting guess it happens when you don't let it heal :v
@@user-cm3sk8ft2d yeah same. I was actually unable go walk for more than a month, and slowly returned to work. Not to mention, I'm still a paid volleyball player, so I need to attend practice 6 times a week still
literally happened to me a few days ago, and i was blocking too... it really does hurt and if you have a high jump like his, them it starts to hurt even more...
@John Nguyen bc of a sprained ankle? no bro, that won’t change how he plays maybe he’ll wear ankle braces for extra caution but it isn’t a surgery for him to not be the same again
stupid number 6. he needs to be sensitive when landing. They teach middle blockers be aware to each other and has to have sense. Not only playing but also be sensible to each other for safety.
@@ar1ma716 Actually a number of people already experienced being injured because of that foot. Hisahara, Kubiak, Fukuzawa. Usually, middle blockers place their foot behind the players beside them so they won't step on it which can cause injuries just like what happened here. Or they jump so as the force of their momentum will lead them jumping out of the court so as not to bump the players behind them. A number of players experienced this with Yamauchi so I don't think this habit of his foot landing beside other player's landing space is safe.

not with that injury, unfortunately.

I hope Nishida can recovery from his injury and can play volleyball back....
I remeber someone saying that he will injure himself one day because he only lands on his left leg....
Except this is a bad example because he was landing on two feet here and during a block, not a spike.
