The math truly doesn't math. There are 365 days in a year, but most people get paid only 26 days out of that. This model forces people to pay for their necessities and desires with their lives ultimately....and I just know that's not my path. That said, I don't have the framework to retire as a content creator. Now when I say I'm a content creator, it's not limited to recording videos for RUclips, and getting brand deals to go with that. It's creating products and SOME services that can allow me to have an income high enough to hire others. You're right work is work. The problem is, most people don't have a positive relationship with work, thus most people are always looking for a way out. I say that to say, content creation is a super untapped opportunity. Most fight for the bottom level opportunities...which leaves an abundance of opportunities to make your own space above that.

Yea, RUclips is not guaranteed to anyone. For most average people, the best-case scenario is to have RUclips as a side hustle alongside your main source of income.
I remember catching a live stream of yours a few years back where you I think just quit your IT job.
Always thought it was crazy how they could let you go with no notice but want a 2 weeks notice to replace you.
Just no respect. For her to now own up and then target you would have been my breaking point too.
I work in a hospital with a union so it's a little harder for managers to outright fire you but these people are some of the most souless folks.
I wanted to work in a IT for a long time now and still kinda want to but like you im in my mid 30s and I often question do I even want to put myself in such a environment. The office setting always seemed so opposite my personality and I just know i'd get fired for talking back.
Overall I think you're right though, steady guaranteed money is less stressful than gig work where nothing is truly certain.
That peace of mind knowing you could but don't have to is even nicer.
I think a lot of people would be happier if they did their work at 9-5 for maybe up to the end of their 20s maybe mid 30s then got out of it and did their own thing. Build up assets that pay you (real estate, stocks, a side gig whatever) then become a creator of something. People often over estimate or underestimate how much they need to do their own thing, but frugality and asset building can help you do what you want when you want. I'll tell you a fact that a lot of people don't want to admit though is the reason they can't live off what they've made is because they buy too much crap and live way outside their means too. I enjoyed my last 9-5 but realize that I'm in the minority. Most people don't enjoy factory /manual work
All of this! Honestly aside from the stupid director I had I did find my old job enjoyable but I full agree that people need to start building their own thing and live within their means and be frugal
