Asus finally realized they make more money selling thousand dollar gaming laptops than hundred dollar motherboards.
They literally created the mkt segment years ago.
I (as well as a lot of friends) really like their motherboards and the AURA SYNC ecosystem so I’m sure that they make similar money with motherboards

ROG definitely makes the coolest looking gaming laptop out there, hands down!!!
the reason why i own rog scar 1 and scar 3, their design is edgy, sharp and coolest i love everything they do for these new lineup, also pushing all amd is great move cause my i7 9750h in my scar 3 goes above 90c even after i re-apply thermal paste yesterday and even added thermal pads lol
I agree they make great designs, I've been even more impressed that thier software works and adds value, and their thermal designs are great laptops don't thermal throttle... I've owned a Strix and Zephyrus.

@@Cosplayinghuman I had a 6 Core Intel 9750H Strix and it ran very cool. My point is that Asus usually makes laptop with good cooling solutions, whether Intel or AMD.

That eGPU is beautiful... If only it supported the 3090.
It would have to be huge, with a 500w power brick.
There aren't any mobile RTX 3090,so no, there won't be any, until Nvidia makes mobile 3090.
That eGPU should have around ±250w of power, with 100w goes to the laptop itself
I'd prefer a 3060 and 3070 option...
Sadly it's a mobile 3080, which has similar or less performance than a full desktop 3070.
@@mini9503 Amazing that mobile gpu are so powerful! It takes too much power to match desktop in mobile... if younwamt power build an sff desktop. At the end of the day mobile is about compromise due to physics...

I don't know if I'm the only one, but I really want a ROG Flow X13. The 16:10 aspect ratio and the 120Hz AND good color accuracy has me pretty much sold. I know the Asus pen/Microsoft powered pens arent very good but I use Clips Studio so I shouldn't even mind. I've been nitpicking about every "creative" laptop not having a Wacom EMR pen but with all this I dont even mind anymore. It's a art workstation AND a console. I have the money - but not the budget haha

G14 is the least optimised laptop of the bunch. It’s just a bit better screen, and ofc better gpu, but tbh these things don’t ruin ur experience at all. I regret not getting the modern G15 myself since the built is as awesome as G14 and it has bigger screen. But in the end these doubts never cease.

Not really, the 1060 sits atop the Steam Hardware Survey for a reason. At least in North America, it is full feasible to build a competing "console killer" PC using secondhand parts and both big OEMs and boutique retailers have products for every price point
Long story short - if you're willing to do the tiniest bit of effort, you don't have to ball hard with your wallet to ball hard with your PC
Best part of asus rog is the logo and the effort to keep up the brand value....!
Those laptops are awesome. I’m just happy to see that they’re making fully functional yet great looking laptops, even if there is a ‘tax’ for it. I’d pay for these, they look phenomenal.
For students, who want to take notes on a tablet on the go and have a gaming setup for at home the ROG Flow X13 is so cool ...
if it was way less than the $3,200 price tag.
I currently have an hp SPECTRE x360 15" for this exact purpose to have everything in one device, but I would trade it in an instant for a solution like this ROG Flow X13 (if I had the money), because I wouldn't have to carry around this much weight and would have more battery life. (The x360 has to be charged in-between classes sometimes or I wouldn't get through the day.)
And although the built-in GPU (GTX 1050 Ti with Max-Q Design) is somewhat decent, it gets to its limits with VR and other more demanding titles
and any other solution where a gaming GPU is built-in would run too hot in a slim chassis and if it would be bigger it would defeat the purpose of a mobile and light device for quick note taking.
Furthermore, while many laptops like my x360 have a thunderbolt connector, I realized thanks to many reviewers, that the performance of an eGPU gets pretty bottlenecked through the connection so it wouldn't be worth the money to invest in a GPU and and an enclosure
.
So if the performance of the ROG Flow X13 with the ROG XG Mobile is actually good, I wouldn't really mind the proprietary connector since I'm (sadly) already used to have to use a proprietery charger for my x360 because of the crappy implemented and not useable USB-C, because you have to use the charger by hp to be able to run at max performance.
So please, if somebody at Asus reads this: you have a very promising product for a lot of people, of which most are students aswell I asume, but exactly this target group usually isn't quite rich to say the least and don't have the money for or don't want two seperate setups for university and their free time, why most of them (at least every friend, who's a gamer, I know of) search for solutions like the ROG Flow X13. But if people are scared off thanks to the price, most of the target group would pick more affordable options eventhough they might not be as practical as the Flow and everybody wouldn't get what they want: the students have less satisfying setups and Asus couldn't make much profit.
So make this great idea of a product more affordable.
Just pre-rdered a Zephyrus G15 this morning, with the Ryzen 5800H / RTX 3070 / 16Gb/ 1Tb SSD. I'm gutted I have to wait til March to get my grubby paws on it!

I think ROG should put out a docking thin and light without a discrete gpu in order to go head to head with Razer's Stealth 13. Having a discrete GPU massively reduces battery life and Tiger Lake's XE graphics are good enough for light gaming now.

Glad my M15 is in the return window. Taking it back and waiting for one of these w beasts. Will probably go with the Zephryus G15 with the 3080. Should be right around $2k which is a heck of a deal compared to Razer. They are wanting nearly $3k for a 10th gen Intel Blade with a 3080.

And 300Hz, human eyes can’t even detect the difference beyond certain limit and 300Hz is likely way above that limit..

Idk how theyre gonna call that a 3080 when it performs like a 3060ti-3070. That said, these laptops are getting impressive. I can only imagine the battery life with that extra screen and everything though.

Up to ryzen 9 5900hs and Gtx 1650 4gb. The external GPU will put you back another 1500usd, with the laptop at around 1500usd itself. Big Oof.
