The mint and proof sets in their original packaging is more interesting and is more of a historic look at the coins rather than consistently goofing around and re-arranging your coin in funky Dansco albums. I mean why the hell are people so gaga about Dansco albums? You get on the Dansco train and you won't be getting off because you develop a mind set that all your coins just have to be in freakin Dansco albums, no matter what the cost is. If you like spending money on your new hobby, then by all means get into the Dansco stuff. Or you could find yourself a nice wooden box to keep your original sets in and view your set collection as it was intended to be viewed. Keeping the coins in Dansco albums by cracking them out of the original case for a storage arrangement isn't solving your storage issues, it increasing it along with spending money unnecessarily.
I love proof sets if the sets are cheap but I’ll pay spot or little over for silver proof sets. I’ve bought a lot of sets on WhatNot with commemorative dollars that were 90% for $15 and other sets with silver for $10, you just have to be able to get up early or have the willpower to wait and bid responsibly. Unfortunately it’s a lot harder than it sounds but I’ve got some amazing deals using those techniques.
