How the hell did MHA walk away with 7 awards, and yet not get Anime of the Year?
Don't get me wrong, I'm over the moon that Made in Abyss won anime of the year, because my god did it deserve it, but I mean how did the horde of MHA fans somehow mess up giving it Anime of the Year, when they were more than willing to give it 7 others?
CrazyAceking I was thinking the same thing! All I can think is that you can put people into two categories....those that would vote for MHA in everything regardless of category, and those that have watched most of the animes and spread out their votes more. I think this second group is actually larger, but there wasn’t as much agreement through the categories and therefore mha won out. But as far as anime of the year I think most agreed it should be made in abyss.
CrazyAceking Yeah, I was pretty shocked about that, but really happy they lost. MHA’s cast is terrible but I like the plot. So I just can’t stand watching the show.
It already won 7 awards. I’m not saying it’s not the greatest anime, but I think it won a little too much.... probably that is why it didn’t win anime of the year.

lol you also made a mistake lolle man cause it wasnt 2nd season that was best continuing series but season 1. i expected some technical difficulties since it was first time they host such an event, it was still fun to watch though, just mad that ochaco won best girl and stein won best villain and also piece sign was only decent not amazing, but all those categories are pretty subjective

Next season it will rise again. The next arc and future acts are way better than the season 2 arc (which was still good, but not as good as the other arcs).

GundamBarbatos9 Veterans people are saying Konosuba was robbed... Konosuba season 2 had pretty much the same jokes as season 1 had, therefore it wasn't as funny. Dragon Maid deserved this.

I don't get how Inuyashiki wasn't the best hero (or even nominated). He literally goes from city to city to cure entire hospitals of cancer patients and terminally ill patients. I don't think anything Deku did this season can compare to this character literally being old man Jesus

Deku got lucky Inuyashiki was not there. If he was, I think he would've won. I love deku, but when you really look at the hero aspect, Inuyashiki eclipses Deku.

Stain was a very compelling villian. Hiro was literally one of the worst "villians" I have ever seen. His character and personality were so stupid.
Inuyashiki would have been so much better if not for him.
But Stain was a better villain over all, he had everything a good villain should have. Hiro just wanted to kill things, hiro didnt have a good reason for why he killed people. Stain was killing off heroes that were "fake" and only wanted to be a hero for the fame and money. Thats why he didnt kill Midoriya, and why he wants All Might to be the one to kill him and no one else, because he considers All Might a TRUE hero.
I voted for Tanya because I have an obsession with evil(in this case semi-) female characters, but if she had not been on the list I wouldn't know who to vote for honestly
When Hiro saw that person commit suicide in that train station, that's what motivated him to kill, because he feels that when people die, he feels more alive.

I am happy to see that Land of Lustrous, Dragon Maid and Ancient Magus Bride got some awards as those are amazing; on the other hand, I can argue against My Hero Academia. Don't get me wrong, it is amazing but...we didn't get to the good parts anime wise. I agree with Stain but...I feel like you guys gave My Hero Academia just too many entries. And, as I said, we still didn't get to the good parts which are present in the manga so, I feel like it is a bit too early to praise it this much.
One entry that really pissed me off though was the best girl because it was more of a "People know Uraraka more than Chise"; no offence, but we haven't even seen that much of Uraraka in anime yet, let alone had any moments with her. But Chise? We saw her developing from depressed mess to an actual hero person who can stand up for what she believes. This one is the one I cannot agree on at all; but maybe it is because anime came out at the end of 2017 and Chise was still developing there. Still, here are hoping that Chise and Ancient Magus Bride will get more entries in 2018, she deserves the best girl award...and maybe even best hero honestly.

Ben Pulham Exactly. It's popularity ruined it's charm. It even became popular at my school (Especially in my friend group) and the only thing I heard about was the shipping between the characters. It ruined my image of the characters and what made them unique, which is quite bad since it was the only thing original and amazing about that show. It's quite mediocre after your hype died down.
Cannot wait until the 2018 anime awards.
I think they need to do break downs for best girl and boy based on genre like they did with the anime series and then do an overall best boy and best girl. Because everyone could argue who was the true best girl or boy from the animes that are less watched and not as popular and actiony like My Hero Acedamia but no one would really bat an eye. I could argue Chise from Ancient Magus Bride should have been best girl since she is overcoming and learning to deal with her mentality as well as saving and learning from those around her even though it literally might kill her.
So yeah, if they could break down best girl and best boy by genre, then others might get a chance.

Well it turned out the way I thought it would and I quite like the outcome! Although even though I'm a HUGE MHA fan, I can't help but feel like it got a few to many awards.. The other options for those categories didn't stand a chance but like I said, I still like the outcome regardless.
