I am a sixty seven year old classical flutist and this is my signiture, most requested piece, a piece that I played with Galway and 3000 other flutists at a flute convention in NYC, a piece that comforted mourners at funerals, honored brides and grooms at weddings, blessed many art openings and business openings, but blessed me most, but never as beautifully played as this wonderful rendition by Hauser. He is one blessed soul, one phenomenal musician.
This piece reminds me to always be grateful to be alive; to have ears; and to live in this moment, where I can listen to this beatiful piece whenever I want to. Thanks Bach, and thank you, Hauser!
Bach was truly a musical genius of the 1st order. There's so much in this piece. I've always focused on the pleading, the yearning, the reaching out from one's very soul into the undefinable. It always drives me to tears from its purity, it's sublime tenderness, it's genuine humanity, it's profound beauty and it's deep meaning. I love how that first note simply hangs there, as if it's always existed and will always exist. This is simply a transcendent piece that cannot be thought of...only felt. It really is auditory emotion. This piece's ability to connect with humanity is incalculable.
This isn't one of those performances you only listen to once and then forget about it. This is one you keep coming back to because the last time you hear it will be just as good as the first time.
What is this thing that we call feeling? What is love? Bach, ages ago, left us a true legacy of inner meaning. We keep seeking it trough our trouble days this place to rest and we can find here in these notes so full of emotion, with our hearts we can hear its whisper like wind over dry grass ... telling us that is okay to be who we are, even so full of faults and lonely. This kingdom exists and Bach is responsible for taking us to this place where there is no pain and we can, at last, find tenderness to this life.

So beautiful, you can hear the cello breath in the quick silences. The passion for the music in his face speaks volumes without saying a word. Extraordinary musician.
I tried listening to many renditions with piano,violin etc but cello really brings that hauntingly beautiful sound that made you feel you are falling deep deep deeper into an endless pit not knowing when you'll land at it's bottom.this is the go to music if you feel the need to cry after a shitty day.

Music should be included in the 7 miracles of the world, maybe even in the first place. The 7 notes, that a sharp mind and the 10 talented fingers helped by a musical instrument (cello for example) can combine so harmoniously, would deserve this classification. Some musical chords make you feel good, others make you dream... Classical music, as I discovered it with you, I can say that it heals ... I feel much better now! Thank you!
This piece uses 11 of the 12 notes (ignoring octaves). Don't know what Bach had against F-natural, could have squeezed in one somewhere. Other than that glaring omission, this is a wonderful piece of music :-)

Nobody plays Bach as sensitive and beautiful as Hauser. I listen to this piece of music at least once a week. It picks you up and lifts you toward eternity.
I agree with you. I like Hauser and the orchestra’s rendition of Air. I also liked when he & Luka were the 2CELLOS. I know everyone is entitled to their opinion however would you believe that many people bash this performance? 🤦♀️

I'm here because I only recently learned that the fabulously popular song by Procol Harum "A Whiter Shade of Pale" from 1967 borrowed from this Bach classic. It became one of the most commercially successful singles in history. Over the years it has garnered more than 1,000 known cover versions by other artists! This rendition of the original is done beautifully. Thank you.

So beautiful, you can hear the cello breath in the quick silences. The passion for the music in his face speaks volumes without saying a word. Extraordinary musician.
I tried listening to many renditions with piano,violin etc but cello really brings that hauntingly beautiful sound that made you feel you are falling deep deep deeper into an endless pit not knowing when you'll land at it's bottom.this is the go to music if you feel the need to cry after a shitty day.

Music should be included in the 7 miracles of the world, maybe even in the first place. The 7 notes, that a sharp mind and the 10 talented fingers helped by a musical instrument (cello for example) can combine so harmoniously, would deserve this classification. Some musical chords make you feel good, others make you dream... Classical music, as I discovered it with you, I can say that it heals ... I feel much better now! Thank you!
What seven miracles of the world
This piece uses 11 of the 12 notes (ignoring octaves). Don't know what Bach had against F-natural, could have squeezed in one somewhere. Other than that glaring omission, this is a wonderful piece of music :-)

Nobody plays Bach as sensitive and beautiful as Hauser. I listen to this piece of music at least once a week. It picks you up and lifts you toward eternity.

I'm here because I only recently learned that the fabulously popular song by Procol Harum "A Whiter Shade of Pale" from 1967 borrowed from this Bach classic. It became one of the most commercially successful singles in history. Over the years it has garnered more than 1,000 known cover versions by other artists! This rendition of the original is done beautifully. Thank you.
