Crochet has been my peace after my daughter was murdered four years ago. I raise her five year old son. I’ve crocheted since the age of 5 and I’m 47 now. I started plushies and craft fairs after that. I love when people come back to my booth saying they bought something the previous year and still have it and love it!!!
I am so sorry about your daughter. My heart stopped when I read your comment. I am so glad we can connect and are able to find joy from our favorite craft. Thank you so much for commenting and sharing with me. Sending you my love!
Thank you for sharing and I’m so sorry for your loss. I’m sure you have great memories to share with your five-year-old grandchild. ❤ so glad crochet brings you peace
I am almost so amazed by your quantity AND quality on your items. Love your set-up, and it was so nice to hear about those who approached you with wonderful and truly deserved words. I am about to do my first EVER market in 3 weeks, and I intend to, hopefully, sell "your" owl-hats etc, along with sweaters, bags etc. I can´t wait... - but I have to hehe... ❤
Your videos are my happy place and I look forward to every Friday when I can sit down with a WIP and hang out with you for about an hour! I also picked up crochet for a stress reliever as an emotional outlet for a really stressful day job. Started plushies last year and craft fairs this summer. Whew! Love that you get to do this with your Mom! My husband has his own wood working business so we do the craft shows together (we've lucked out that the coordinators have put our booths side by side). Here's to a successful rest of the season!
Another fantastic video, April! My gosh! I think that I say it every time, but my goodness….you and your mom are truly talented, and I wouldn’t be surprised if you run into more people that have been inspired by your artistry. I love that you get to spend this time with your beautiful momma. What a special connection….❤
I love your vlogs. I'm always looking out for the next one and they can never come quick enough🤭🤭🤭Love everything you make too❤❤❤❤Hanging out for the next one👀👀👀
Thank you so much! My set up has had an evolution over the years that's for sure & I really enjoy the time with my mom, and I am very blessed. I'll be lost without her.
What a fun market! Love it when your Mom is with you , she is so cute! your twin! Glad you also had your husband with you too! The booth looked so nice. Thanks for sharing your day❤
Wow 🎉 your setup is amazing with so much inventory 😊 Your mom and husband are wonderful for joining you and helping with the festival ❤️ my market last Saturday ended in rain again, so tomorrow is my last one outside 😂 no rain in the forecast 😀
great video- check your ISO settings on your camera to stop it looking so blown out. and check your mic is on as you missed it for a while at the beginning. (PS i watched all the way through 😀
Oh April, I so resonate with your story. You are a beautiful soul! I am 82, with chronic pain, diabetes, arthritis and autoimmune diseases, as well as poor gut health. I was taught all the the needlework arts y my wonderful mom and grandma. I think about the only thing I didn't learn was tatting.Neither of them did that. Sewing and designing clothes was my forte. I made 3 wedding gowns, a tuxedo and various wedding clothes and decor. I was so interested in clothing because I was 5'10" in the seventh grade. They didn't have tall girl shops just then. My beautiful grama died at 67 of colon cancer. I have a history of polyps in my colon and I never thought I'd live to be this old. My beautiful mom died at 92. She had vascular dementia and was a brilliant woman who knew she'd lost her mind. It was heart breaking. She lived with me for. 10 years,, so I saw what she went through. We also had mental health issues in our family. I became a psychiatric nurse for 24 years. I have my own issues since childhood, mostly depreeion.. Well, enough of my sad story. The wonderful thing was I grew up with great love from the dear women who taught me so much. The reason I found and loved watching you is that though I grew up in the Pacific Northwest, I lived almost 8 years in Middletown Ohio. Buckeye caught my eye. I keep up with you religiously. Both knitting and crochet have saved me from the debilitating conditions of mobility and loss of my my forced retirement from the profession I loved as well as pain and mobility issues. I hear you you with the problems of your life and am also happy you have the talents for such wonderful products you and your mother make. Forgive me this long winded comment, but you have touched my heart. Travel in nurse also touched my heart in her comment below. I have found friends and wonderful women in all the crafting world. I have done paper arts as well. I don't knows which came first the craft or the sweet spirited crafters of the world. May you always find solace in your art. The little boy got it right. Your products are so professional and beautifully done. Kudos to you and your mom!! I also find a connection with you and Rajah's story.
Oh Karen, thank you so much for everything you have ever written to me, but especially this comment. It touched me more than you will ever know. I found myself tearing up as I was reading it. I want you to know I see you! I bet you have an incredible life story. I was just talking with my mom recently about how no one escapes this earth without suffering. It’s such a painful part of life, but in that suffering I have found I have learned the most about myself and my strength to persevere with patience and compassion. You never know what anyone is going through or what they have been through. I feel so blessed to have the opportunity to make friends with such strong women all over the world. It’s incredible and something I didn’t think would happen. I hope you know how much I appreciate all of your love and support. You are really incredible and truly know how to make a girl feel special. I hope you have an amazing week!
I love the fact that you and your mother do these together. If my mother were still alive I’m sure she would be right beside me as well. It absolutely makes my day to see that. God bless you both❤
It was interesting to watch your shoppers. Why do some people have to touch almost every item before they might purchase something? That drives me nuts. I wish my mother was alive to do shows with me. I am jealous.
I really think the weather throws people off. I’m north of you in Ohio and we’re still wearing shorts most days. My last market (last weekend) people weren’t ready for colder purchases
Hello April, maybe think about getting a fan that is either battery operated, or one you can charge up, to keep you guys cool. can pick up a small portable charging station to run all your equipment and fans with just a thought. Karen from Arizona
Hey I was one of the crochet booths you visited!! Macy Made Creations!! So fun to see myself featured in the video. But, it was for sure a hot one, my portable fan was a necessity!! I look forward to seeing more of your videos. You got yourself a new subscriber! ☺️
Here on RUclips conventions seem to be a great investment - high upfront fees but they are very eager to buy and appreciate handmade one of a kinds - and it’s indoors - outdoor markets are rough - y’all are amazing 😅😊🎉🎉
Hello there. The hats are absolutely amazing 💜 may I ask what yarn you use? I stay in Mozambique and it's hard to find the correct yarn. Love you videos never miss one.
I was using a yarn from Michaels called Impeccable by Loops and Threads, but I also like to use I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby. Thank you for watching from Mozambique.
love your set up. and that TENT can you please tell me where you got it? im debating on weather to buy another one im on my 2nd one and its broken its still usable as long as it doesn't rain :/ lol and its super heavy and so hard to put up and pack up in the bag it came in. So now im on the hunt for a better one TIA I don't crochet but I wish I could learn but with my hands I can't.
Thank you so much! I love my tent. It's very sturdy with the center structure in the middle. I also have side walls for when it rains, too sunny or windy. Here is the link: ~10 X 10 Tent Mentioned This tent gives me piece of mind, so I don't have to worry about the weather. amzn.to/3VMiRAy
Random suggestion, is it possible to roll the hats into the netting when you breakdown? Or would that cause too much damage to the hats? Could make setup and breakdown easier for you.
@@HeavyRoller252 I have actually talked about this, but the issue is I would have to use something other than the clothes pins to secure them, because they would fall off getting rolled up. It is an idea for sure! We must think alike. 😁 Thank you for commenting. I appreciate you! I hope you have a great week!

Aloha from Hawaii 🌴 What a beautiful and positive way crochet has helped you. They say crafters in general live longer. ALOHA!!
I should live forever then! LOL.
I, for one, can not wait for your hat patterns. My boys and nieces are going to love them.
Thank you! I plan on releasing them soon.
Your market is so amazing! All the items you and your mom have made! Wow!
Thank you so much! We work really hard.

Hi the cozy buckeye this is my first time watching your video❤
Well, hello and welcome. Thank you so much for watching.
You’re set up look great. I’m sure your has didn’t do as well because of the heat.
Thank you so much! Yes, the heat just ruins the vibe for selling winter hats.

Did that woman with the kid in the stroller put a hat on her and then have that other person take it out of there? Did she steal a hat?
God, I hope not. Now I'll have to go back and watch!
