I got away from Lumafusion a few years back, but when I saw they had multicam, this is what I wanted and I came back. Thanks so much for your video--precise, clear-cut, and very well done.
This is just what I need as I started a new podcast channel on RUclips. I ditched Luma since before covid but now I am gonna return to Luma for tis Multicam feature. Thanks for such detail and easy to understand walkthrough 🙏🏻
Thanks for the great tutorial! It was extremely clear and obviously well produced and edited. I installed the Multicam update on my M1 iPad Pro, and this morning set up my iPhone 14 Pro, my GoPro 9, and my Insta 360 Go 2. I picked up my guitar and recorded three angles of me playing and singing a John Prine song. I used the iPhone audio and the Insta 360 Go2 was stuck to the head of the guitar looking down the neck at my hands. Then I started editing, watching your tutorial as I went and it made it so easy. I'm excited to do more. Thanks again!
Man i do not speak to much english but i can say yoour video is the Best on youtube about this, you helped me alot and you speak so clear that i understood everything saludos desde Ciudad de México
You did a really good job. Your vocal is what surprised me. You have intelligent speech and very good sound. Your content was what I wanted, but what was even better, your arrangements of text graphics, etc... was very well done. I'm subscribing. Keep up the great work! You made it look so easy. And, I may be purchasing your class on this topic as needed. I am just trying this out for now. Thanks!
Great video, it answered all my questions about multicam editing on lumafusion - Ripple Training and MacBreak Studio taught me how to use (& love) Final Cut Pro, I’m working on an iPad now & will be taking the Ripple LumaFusion course in the new year, many thanks..
amazing tutorial, it felt like a whole lot going in but you broke it down super well and I feel prepared to do some multicam interviews/talking head stuff. I need to learn about how you set up that live performance though, I have some musician friends that would love that.
I would add to other comments. You’re very clear, have good pacing and are a pleasure to watch. I’ve just subscribed to your channel. Good luck and keep it up!
I don’t see a way to go to a split screen combining the two talking heads. Also, many of my videos have two good audio tracks - isolated by talking head. I need to have both audio tracks active at the same time. I suppose one could pre-combine the audio for a single audio track. Then combine a split of the talking heads side by side as a 3rd angle. Both of these pre-combines could be one video (video of the two heads, audio of the combined audio.). An extra step that could be solved in LumaFusion.
This is fantastic… before I got LumaFusion, I was doing video on a Bronze Age Macintosh using Camtasia, which cost me way more than the combined cost of LumaFusion and the MultiCam update… I’m just hoping it will run reasonably well on an iPad 9…
Yes, I do edit on my. 12.9 iPad Pro!! Been using DaVinci Resolve since it came out. I have used Luma Fusion in the past and will keep it my tool set. Now if only Apple would release FCPX for the iPad!! Great Stuff Steve. I will check Multicam with Luma Fusion.
I just purchased this and needed a tutorial. Yours helped but I need to practice. Coming from Adobe Premiere, editing on the iPhone is new to me but convenient. I also have a channel called Arborist Blair Glenn where I teach about trees and tree care. Editing in the field often allows me to get stuff up at lunchtime, then back to work. I will check out more of your videos.
Great video. Can't wait to try it out. I often use LumaFusion to do initial cutting in the field and then export the XML to FCPX to add a little more finesse. I'm guessing this will only export the finished product and nothing multicam related, but it will interesting to see how it's handled. This app is really incredible for what you can do on a mobile device.
LumaFusion has become my go to editor because of this feature. The question I have is do you use transitions on all/most of your cuts or do you only do a few as shown in your breakdown?
Wonderful video! Thank you so much! You mentionned using a dedicated mixer recorder…. Any suggestions for how to synchronize the audio between 2 cameras from 2 different people?? (The video synched wonderfully in Lumafusion but left the audio in the lurch for choosing between the views between our 2 different helmet cams 😢). Thanks again!
Best kind of update, some apps suck and make money via subscriptions that add no value i prefer teams that bring updates like this event if you have to buy this updates since they do bring value thats worth that cost.
@@rippleguys thanks for the response. I wish there was a way to cut out mistakes right after sync, because I’ve had instances where I had a better idea of what angles I wanted to use once I have everything condensed down to my usable footage. Oh well, maybe they’ll add that as an option in a later version. Thanks for the help.
@@rob-toolsandtech2521 Yes you can, edit the container clip by blading out all the sections you dont want, then perform the mutlicam edit on the edited container..
Hi thanks so much for the tutorial! I'm working on a live concert shooting and need to add stabilization to the clips but since they are in a multicam container I don't see how to how to stabilize each specific cut, it only lets you apply to the entire angle (rendering the stabilization useless because each angle is 4 mins long) . Any ideas how to work around this? Thanks in advance!
Ty for the video. Can I change the speed of a clip in a Multicam container? When I go to the timeline and choose one of my clips I don’t get the speed and duration function/edit button. Is that normal?
Can audio and video be synced by capture time. I’m recording footage on my motorcycle where I talk and record with my iPhone 14 but I have my iPhone 6 in my back pocket to record the sound of the pipes and in Final Cut I use sync by capture time since the sound of my voice and the sound of the pipes are completely different audio files. Would this be possible in Lumafusion Multicam?
Thank you for this video. It was very helpful. When I installed the latest version of Lumafusion on my Android phone I am not able to see this section Add-Ons. Is there a possibility that multicam editing is available only on tablets (android, apple)? Thank you in advance for your respond.
I’m just starting to learn to edit videos in luma but from what I see, I can get the same result without the multicam expansion, only with a bit more work. What I mean is, Is there any reason to buy the expansion besides making life easier ?
Great video, Steve! I've been waiting for this feature FOREVER, and I'm SO excited that it's finally here! Curious - if you export the Multicam project to FCP using the LF FCP export option, does it come into FCP as a Multicam clip?
If LumaFusion continues like this, people will stop asking for an iPad version of FCP, Just being curious: is it possible to migrate a multi-cam edit, via the LumaFusion exporter to FCP? Thank you for this demo.
I bought the lumafusion on my Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra thinking it has multi cam studio. Now I'm disappointed since it is only available on the iPad... How do I get a refund now...
You can apply effects to a single clip in the MC container, but it makes more sense to apply it to the underlying angle to that the effect appears each time you switch to it.
@@rippleguysyes but I can’t speed up the whole clip in the synchronizer mode more can I speed up a single clip on the timeline when it’s in a Multicam container so what am I doing wrong please? Thanks for the video 😊

Have you all transitioned to LumaFusion from FCPX?
Okay, I’ll try this for the motovlogs I do. Seems pretty simple

Hello! Do you know how to make one clip out of two? I want to add a zoom in in multiple clips.
Thank you!
Thanks for the info. Is there a way to sync, then cut out my mistakes, and interruptions before I decide on what angles I want?
Sync, then perform the multicam cut with yoru mistakes. Then trim them out the mistakes in the main timeline (performing ripple edits to remove it)
