My father was an Air Force Boom Operator from 1989 to 2007 when they put him behind a desk. He started out on the 135 but cross-trained to the 10 in 1994. In 2004 my family and I got to go on a Space-A flight from New Jersey to Florida on the 10 that my dad flew in. My brothers and I got to see Mid-Air Refueling from the most badass angle ever. And I remember thinking how prideful I was seeing how awesome my dads’ job was. Most kids are proud to have a parent thats a lawyer or a doctor or a teacher, or a first responder. And all of those jobs are awesome, but as a kid, nothing was more badass than what my dad did for the U.S. Air Force.
This is one crazy idea but those who make it happen are truly amazing. The scientists, the pilots.... just wow
Having seen one video of blades on a 53 hitting the hose. I have since noticed that after engaging the basket, the chopper pilot pushes forward a little and climbs a little. It would make sense to keep that basket away from the rotor system. Also with two piots, one would have to stay on the controls with a steady sight picture of the 130, while the other pilot is watching guages and instruments. Any crew-members that can confirm, former ch-47 pilot here.
I absolutely love the whole process of refueling in air. So much goes into refueling aircraft while flying.
I showed my son 3:35 when we had "the talk" and he gets it now.
U got problems
LMAO. Did you tell him that occassionally it takes that long?
except its the the one sticking it in that's getting pregnant technically.
@@gerbodis lol
You should show him the video of the sea stallion cutting the end of his probe off and tell him that’s what is going to happen if he gets a girl pregnant before he’s old enough to support one. Lol
It's like watching a bee get nectar from a flower.
I kill all of my subscribers. So observant u really nailed it
Bee get nectar from a flower with no hose.
Realy difference. 😅
@@putripurnama5405 It was a joke.
More like a humming bird
its like.. im not gonna even say it
And they tell me I cant pump gas with engine on
lol
Yeah, I don't know where in the hell they came up with that one from. You can pour gas all over a car and it won't catch fire unless someone lights a smoke.
Diesel is the one that really makes me laugh. Hard to light with a match.
Better safe than sorry policy. One example is old plug wires can cause a short through the deteriorated insulation and if there's vapors nearby it could potentially ignite.

HAHAHAHAHA best comment ever
Am I the only one who thinks, that this is one of the most epic army videos ever ?
I mean the cameraman is sooo close to the edge of a flying plane while a chopper is casually getting some fuel right next to them !!!
BADASS ! ! ! XD
Air Force Combat Rescue.
Amazing there is no turbulence from those blades to deviate the hose pipe at all. Incredible technology.
This made me sweaty, what a nutty thing to be doing. Glad there are so many capable people out there.
And that's how ospreys are made
Lol. I got a semi, but I think it was the bird did it.
I would like to see a split screen of the Blackhawk cockpit and the cargo area of the refueling plane, I think that would give the concept a visual understanding of how important trust and team work is number one.
It's edited for a reason :)
One of the challenges one can think of is that how the fuel tubes are able to resist the pressure of the helicopters' rotating blades and stay stretched for a long time.
The spotter has a magnificent view from way up there.
I imagine that ought to be frustrating as hell. The pave hawk's max speed is probably around the MC-130J's minimum speed for level flight.
definitely lol
" Come on girl .. just alittle more further " 😂
You got it!
It's all about the precision ! Just the precision!
I am always very impressed that pilots can do this. I can´t even pull it off in simulator games.
I can't pull it out in time in real life

Excellent job.
It's like a fucking hummingbird.
Leave some breadcrumbs for it.
That so funny
Some hardcore skills on display here 😎
Hats off! Greets From Italy ♥️🚁🔝amazing
Great video... awesome job.
This is a mad work
This is awesome!
breathtaking
Amazing mode of refuling
Espectacular, es una proeza del piloto y del otro lado del equipo
It's like watching a humming bird feeding on one of flowers.
L
i thought that the pipe on the heli was a canon! xD
Lol it is a probe so that the blade doesn't chop off the fuel hose
thought of that when i was younger too, especially on the MH-53s
BDY
The missiles are mounted on the ESSS which is not installed on this aircraft. It's removable. Trust me, I work at Sikorsky Aircraft in Stratford Ct.
Male helicopter has that. 😷
AMAZING!!!😎 Good Job !!! thanks again for your service!!!😀
It's a great job..men..thank u.....
awesome air refueling
the skills (and nerves) required to air-refuel a helicopter are tops, as far as I can tell.
Simplesmente lindooooo!!!!
Awesome!
I am just giving a thanks to all friends
Great video ✌️👍👍
Pure skill and talent
I always wondered what those long poles pointing out of the front of helicopter were
I used to think that its a spear for charging at the enemies
wow..without grounding ...in the navy ..i remember chock and chain...and the chopper had to be grounded because of static electricity from the rotating blades....and of course...the smoking lamp was out throughout the ship..for any refueling.
Aught to feel what that rides like in the chopper at night over mid Atlantic
Any regular person: “wow interesting!”
My dumb-ass: “hehe fly boi go _schlorp_ ”
“he hungy”
This is love
❤🇮🇸🌻
Rotary wings are trickier to air refuel than fixed wings, that's 4 sure
@Anthony Yong I would certainly think so. Since hovering a rotary is an art, the pilot must perfectly match his flight to that of that tanker.
Still as beautiful as ever Black Hawk.
Really good
really it's amazing
Amazing
I would guess that's one of the most difficult things to do for a pilot and the crew...😎😀
This is scary ! the distance between the hose and the rotor .... don't wanna think about it !
Good job
That's one job where you have to know what you are doing!
I don't believe "Fake it, 'till you make it" would be enough.
Hat's off to the pilot
rips bong*
imagine explaining this shit to a cave man
Technology, masterpiece of human invention.
It's just a hose and a tube... calm down...
very nice of you
that airforce HH-60 pavehawk. the only other blackhawk platform that has a refueling probe is the MH-60.
09:53 that was funny :D
I can imagine the C-130*crew to the UH-60 pilot "Damn it man, get it in the hole!"
*Missed.*
Keep THE videos coming BROTHER????
just like helicopter drink using the straw. haha
Real professionals
The weldest best army training us your cantry sir am very happy to watching this video
r/boneappletea
Imagine the pure terror of falling out of the plane while taking this video...
So that's how they make more aircrafts..
nyc background music i loved it
Lovely
damn that looks like the hardest thing
good job
How does that basket remain so stable and directional
Very nice
Those pilot are really skillfully in refuelling . Great jod . I am still on student pilot, and that’s my dreams what I want to be.
هلو أني كرار
I always wondered what those long poles or how like to call it sticks was on these helicopters because it wasn't a weapon
very nice
That's not a UH-60 Black Hawk, it's a HH-60G Pave Hawk. Great video tho 👌🏼
I feel very awkward having watched this at my parents’ place
That's probably the hardest in air refueling. The helicopter is going as fast as it can and the plane is going as slow as it can. I don't imagine anyone involved is having a good time doing this.
Very good
Good old HH-60G Pavehawks! #JollyGreen #Pedro
Humans are amazing!
That's actually an Air Force HH60G :)
Waits a few years until it finally had contact
nice video
are there any magnetic components on either side of the hoses?
Good work on helicopter
waw.. how cool is that.
3:50 And yesterday I thought that was for missiles
The H-60's in this video, are HH-60Gs, not UH-60Ls.
Esses helicópteros são muito bons seria uma aquisição muito boa para marinha do Brasil.
Reminds me of a knight practicing his jousting.
Awesome《☆》Anybody got some petroleum jelly ☻
This is precision.
ummmm no it's accuracy not precision
How anybody gave this a thumbs down is beyond me. What do they expect a helicopter to fuel up on? Do they think a solar cell would fly a helicopter, or a stupid battery? Some people live in a phantasy land.
Indrid Cold I'm going to dislike this video because you spelled fantasy wrong.
Leaving a dislike because of your moaning about different technologies
Us army be making my childhood lego creations
A steady stick... 👍
It's very dangerous wow
What is the (locking mechanism) between the host and the guest, please ?
My guess would be magnet !
Can somebody answer if Helicopter to Helicopter refueling in the air is possible and has been done? I have people trying to refute this, thank you in advance...
Good
Look like the helicopter refuel by carrier ?
