To all those people commenting something like, "well for the money you could get a Mustang or w/e" Ask yourself why you came here and watched the video. :) You know you want one of these rare JCW Mini's. They handle way better than a Mustang or Camaro.
a week ago I test drove a 2017 golf r and mini jcw back to back and did a small donuts on both cars. The mini beats golf r in terms of handling , the suspension the chassis. what a fun car to drive!!!! i want one!!
Thanks for the great video- and I love the AT in my Cooper S F56, I never want to drive manual again. People complaining about the AT never drove one recently, Things have changed a lot.
Yay,you finally mentioned the reliability and parts cost issue during a car review.Even though it was just in passing, that is better than not at all.It is almost as if some one read and took heed of my comments on this issue. Thank you! : )
Ricardo Lourizela "Everything is new in this generation Mini. Engine, transmission, chassis, infotainment.." Which is another reason to doubt the reliability. "new" doesn't necessarily mean better, or more reliable. A car company known for unreliable cars is not suddenly going to get better just because they made everything new. The proof will be in the pudding. ; )
+Statimtek They're new in the Mini, you moron; they've been tried and tested in some BMW models. And this Mini now comes with a 5 year warranty. Because I think the brand is in this for the profit, I doubt they'd give that extended warranty to an unreliable car.
HaHa sweet little ride, I think I may swing by the Mini dealership this weekend, my luck the one I will want won't be an automatic lol. Great vid guys!!!
The JCW is pretty close in performance to the Golf GTI with the sport package now. 0-60 times are almost identical. The Mini has a better quality interior. Can't say much about the handling.
Robert Drake Maybe the Bambi. I had a 2011 S Countryman that I had fitted with a trailer hitch receiver so that I could haul a 5' x 8' utility trailer. I can't remember exactly the tongue weight but I think I could safely haul the trailer plus up to 1800 pounds.
boovoo66 39k is the base price if you spec the Golf R properly, it's not difficult to reach the 50k price tag otherwise the JCW is fully spect up... that maked me go hmmmm
boovoo66 it's about the drive as a whole not just 0-60 for people that enjoy corners and not just running from light to light it's a completely different outlook
Watching time remains me the need to bring Out a remake of the #Italianjob using #2015JCw's, not too new but still 12yrs Older than the movie #markwahlberg and #jasonstatham needs to be in this movie #remakeitalianjob
Simple: because you like the Mini more than the Golf. Not everything about a car is the numbers in the paper, in fact a lot of it is the driver's emotional attachment to the car which comes from his the car looks and how it drives. Some people with test drive both cars and just prefer the Mini over the Golf regardless of numbers, but that's why it's so important to drive a car before you buy it, too experience those intangibles.
Blake Swan The Golf is just a better platform than the mini, regardless of model. I think the mini primarily sales on quirky styling which is kind of cool, but not enough to justify the price in my mind.
If you are going to drive a Ferrari then by all mean drive the manual. Oh wait, it doesn't come in a manual. Darn! The automatic for me, please. Better performance with less work.
+DavidElCid300 Manual is less work??? How is that? Automatic is 1) press gas 2) go. 1) press brake 2) stop. Now, don't get me wrong, I can drive manual. But, with city stop-and-go driving, it's just more work.
okay I like the cooper works, but the hellkitty? No, just no. esile (aka a backward Elise), yes. a practical 4C, absolute. The ultimate front wheels driving machine, sure. hellkitty no. but otherwise if it was not for my economic status this would be on my short list, and for reasons I feel I need to explain I can't get it used.
When I was looking for a used Mini, I realized majority of the used Minis were at 50,000k. That tells me people don't trust the reliability and sells it as soon as the warranty is over. From my experience with friends and families who owned a Mini, they had nothing but issues. The horrible new redesign does not help either.
Also, Roman sucks at driving on a track... not keeping revs up, no flow, not using the entire track, and I'm pretty sure he has the trans in auto... LUL
If Mini made the cooper RWD there would a lot of crashes and spins, RWD and a short wheelbase do not go together well. The FWD over steers plenty, while still being controllable.
so, essentially for a proper mini cooper. one must spend about, 40k? I recon one can find better deals with from toyota or bmw. you really can't justify 40k for mini copper. I don't care how much u live the car
People say I'm dumb to buy a Cooper JCW edition instead of spending the money on a Mercedes or something... Nah, I like my ride fun.
Jia L. Yip. Me too
Me too and I love it.
Not dumb at all, so fun and so practical !

vision1707 how did you do donuts in a AWD golf R or a FWD mini?
Donuts in a fw car?
Ate

excellent video guys. we love JCW and your video makes us love it even more.

FYI: We read the comments and we try to answer your suggestions.
The Fast Lane Car Thank you.
Everything is new in this generation Mini. Engine, transmission, chassis, infotainment... Other generations' reliability is absolutely irrelevant.

I've just bought an F56 JCW and found this a brilliant video. very in depth. Thanks
Serious you can adjust the dampers like you can in the regular mini cooper, can you make it more of a Comfortable ride by adjusting that?
It is a really sporty looking car!!👍🏼
HaHa sweet little ride, I think I may swing by the Mini dealership this weekend, my luck the one I will want won't be an automatic lol. Great vid guys!!!
As soon as the dude pulled his pants down, I decided that I need a JCW in my life.
Very good review! :)
I can hear the run flats when he was going around the track
what's the bhp per ton figure for the 'Hell Kitty' and the HellCat. Would be an interesting comparison...
Those are the 18" wheels. I have read that the smaller wheels provide better ride quality.
superb video
These jcw are the best ive had 2hes rite biy a manusl absolute fun machines
Can the Mini Cooper can survive the Winter in Edmonton Alberta? What i am trying to say is can they survive heavy snow
Why wouldn't they?
They do! I live in Michigan and my mini keep up with big trucks that are 4x4. I just got the looks driving in the middle of a heavy snow storm
It's not a living thing, it will survive lol
The JCW is pretty close in performance to the Golf GTI with the sport package now. 0-60 times are almost identical. The Mini has a better quality interior. Can't say
much about the handling.
Didn't expect to get mooned this episode...lol
how well do you fit, roman?
Roman says he fits like a glove
How about "Hellhamster?"
5:55 and thank god for that
Can a tow an Airstream with this?
Robert Drake

Ya era hora que probárais la versión MANUAL. :-)
Why do you have three people in a small car for a review... that will ruin all the dynamics of a dynamic car
Am I the only one that noticed during the segment when the Mini drove over the camera, there was some fluid dripping from the bottom of the car?
A/C
Condensation/water from the a/c
every single car does that...lmao
Love my Mini Cooper s
Demasiadas opciones... Demasiado encarecimiento en el precio final...
39,900 for a golf r dsg 0-60 4.6 sec 39,900 for jcw mini 0-60 5.8 sec! Things that make you go hmmmmm
boovoo66 39k is the base price if you spec the Golf R properly, it's not difficult to reach the 50k price tag otherwise the JCW is fully spect up... that maked me go hmmmm

I know which one I’d rather take around the track and it wouldn’t be a big fat 4 wheel drive automatic.
Watching time remains me the need to bring Out a remake of the #Italianjob using #2015JCw's, not too new but still 12yrs Older than the movie #markwahlberg and #jasonstatham needs to be in this movie #remakeitalianjob
the price is ridiculous. why not get a golf r at that point and be faster

Better solution..wait for the Focus RS
nickL7389 I'm really excited for that. Ford is really impressing me lately
In austria the golf r costs about 12000 euros more so I would rather buy the jcw lol
Blake Swan
The Golf is just a better platform than the mini, regardless of model. I think the mini primarily sales on quirky styling which is kind of cool, but not enough to justify the price in my mind.
Dodge should make a hellcat dart and call it the hell kitty

Richard Nunez Richard, you need to go back and re-read my comment because you really confused what I said.
Dude, sorry. I apologize for not reading it correctly. :-(
Richard Nunez We're on the same page. Have a good night.
The Hellcat is seriously Under Tired but for the squirrels who love smokey burnouts it's your car
$37,000 !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It better come with, shit i dunno. Maybe a Fiesta

Rather have the new Focus RS
Thats an obvious choice that pretty much everyone would make
Yeah but of course I respect the Mini it's a cool little car but there are better choices
I agree
Raymond
Yeah, the focus RS looks to be pretty insane.
Raymond
supposedly the US will eventually get a type R civic, one more in this fun affordable class.
231 hp?

Its just not as pretty as it used to be...
This car is really not all that special to receive 28+ minutes of TFLs time and video. Oh and calling it a "Hellkitty" is a bit a strech.
I disagree with you washer master!
Too bad they test drove the automatic version.
We drove both the manual and automatic. This video was in the manual car.
The Fast Lane Car AT least the one Roman drove on the race track and the one at the end are automatic.
From back in the day to hell kitty? Really?
That side sunblocker thing looks fucking hideous lol
Lol, 1k led headlights...yea right
Also, Roman sucks at driving on a track... not keeping revs up, no flow, not using the entire track, and I'm pretty sure he has the trans in auto... LUL
Its not even British anymore it's German it's owned by BMW
And it is a test drive for a person with more money than brains. Why would anyone ever buy this is over priced car?
This car will never be fun or sporty as long as it's FWD... They really need to switch to RWD
kkthxk they were idiots for buying them in the first place. I hate fwd with a passion
If Mini made the cooper RWD there would a lot of crashes and spins, RWD and a short wheelbase do not go together well. The FWD over steers plenty, while still being controllable.
zevi 2000 it's 7" longer than the new Miata....
Sweet a comment war
+rebelyell22 try driving one
'Hellkitty' exhaust? "Hala a kaskarla x ahí ", in spanish language,,,
What, in God's name, has happened to Roman's hair; has his toupée shrunk in the wash⁉️😳😵🙀💦👴🏼
the internetsnso critical hell kitty was just a light humored joke lls

Anyone who drives a JCW, I'll let her sleep with me.
Great show but man I could never take those Mini cars seriously. Only sissies and girls drive them where I live.
DieselQuads Cars are genderless....real men know this.
Go drive one yourself and say that again
