No offense but if you’ve seen the recent smoothie encores, renjun is having a really hard time even singing his parts live😬he has a very pretty tone but his voice is very shaky, unstable and weak. Chenle as well was whispering his parts and it probably means that he was afraid of he pushes his voice too far, it might crack or it could’ve been nerves idk. But even outside of that since chenle cannot produce support, and sings with a raised larynx and poor placement his voice always sounds nasally, thin and airy and he strains way too much by putting too much tension on his throat, same with renjun hence the greater chance of voice cracks. Which is why renjun/chenle oftentimes than not prefer to sing in falsetto, because it doesn’t need proper support, strength, or technique and is basically this pretty, airy tone that is very easy to produce (shortcut to high notes if you will. Haechan was the ONLY one, mind you, who was singing as hard on the encore stage as he did while recording and he was solid throughout! He was the loudest, most stable and strongest voice. Even just ignoring the recent encores, haechan is the only vocalist with a consistent supported range in dream (renle can’t support AT ALL). He has the strongest chest voice, mixed voice and head voice and has some of the strongest chest voice belts in all of nct and definitely has the best belting technique in dream. He has also belted the highest notes (g#5) in mixed voice several time LIVE during irreplaceable, g#5 being the highest belted note (as in he did not use falsetto). I’m aware that chenle has hit a Bb5 in broken melodies but he did so using falsetto which is actually,y pretty easy as it doesn’t require any real technique or connection to your head voice, whereas belting a note as high as g#5 (which is only a note lower than Bb5) is much harder because haechan did so in very powerful mixed voice as on there was some chest voice used a well which is insanely hard😭
