We had a massive rainbow appear on a tough tournament day so we said "ehh why not try the end of it" lol. We may not have caught our target species but we did land a nice bluegill!

Jerk baits are Kryptonite! The first thing you need when fishing a Jerkbait is a boat….wind is 2nd. I refer to a jerkbait as a Boat only lure. Yes you can catch fish from the shore with a jerkbait, but it’s nowhere near as effective. Here in my neck of the woods in KY, it just does not perform. The half dozen anglers I fish with all say the same thing. I still have one tied on but it’s not a confidence lure. But I do enjoy watching you catch Smallmouth In Tennessee.

I noticed your fishing your jerkbait kinda fast. I’ve always heard to barely move it and let it set for long periods of time. Is all that necessary? Also when do you decide to fish like a jig vs moving baits? Brand new kayak tourney angler here just looking for some pointers. I’ve been out in the winter, but I’ve never caught anything
