I did the big chop back in February so now I’m currently wearing stocking cap & bonnet ,using doo grow oil everyday (scalp and hair) washing my hair every month ,taking biotin 10,000 mcg everyday plus drinking water everyday all day🤩

Girl 6-8 wks my behind!!! If by average ur hair grows 1/2 in a mo, then in 6-8wks you cut off what u just grew if you’re lucky. If you’re me, your hair dresser cut tht off and then some so you are now negative three inches...

I think every 3-4 months is good, unless u notice you need a trim sooner.

Yes, hair cuts so often are only necessary if you are trying to maintain a short hair style or bob. Cutting your hair every 6-8 weeks is cutting away any progress/growth, not split ends.

I big chopped so my products could last longer. No use in using them on hair I was going to cut off.

Your tips are spot on! But I say no to genetics. Perhaps you’ve been able to achieve length in the past without an aggressive, length retention routine. But everyone can achieve good length retention with proper hair practices, unless they have an internal issue that’s stunting hair growth. It’s not genetics. You put in the work, stayed consistent and your beautiful hair is the result! 🌺🥰
