How did they turn the moon into a giant spotlight? Like, everything here is preinstalled technology, right? Did they plan ahead for a scenario where they would need a giant spotlight moon?
Maybe they told truman his whole life that's how the moon works...he could believe it if his whole life has been a lie and he has been living in the same place. So Truman would never suspect that the moon doesnt have a spotlight 🤣😅
everyone in town is looking for you, then the moon becomes a spotlight...and the dude expects Truman to just be ok with knowing that and continue the show
I always wondered if the audience stopped watching the ratings would go down to a point where the show got cancelled. How would Christof work with this and would Truman be freed.
Man do I want a sequel to this movie. It’s been decades since it came out, so it could take place that many years later and we can see how Truman ended up. He could be struggling with paranoia. He could bump into the actors that played his friends, families and neighbors and have a real conversation with them for the first time. We could see him still adapting to the pains of the real world and maybe even getting weak at one point and slightly longing for his old life back on the show where he was enslaved but protected. There could even be some great dark humor. Like maybe he’d see an article about the man that played his dad actually died in real life, since in the show he “died” but now he’s dead for real. He could even get briefly emotional at the scripted memories he had with his fake dad before snapping back to reality. They could go either way with his fame. Either he can’t live a normal life because everyone treats him differently, or now that the show is over everyone has forgotten about him and moved onto something else, especially considering it would take place in modern times where trends come and go quickly. He could finally end up confronting Cristof in the end. Maybe he’s in jail or destitute and Truman finally has the courage after so many years to look him up and talk with him to try and get some closure. In the end I would imagine it would be a bittersweet but hopeful ending where Truman would come to terms that dealing with life’s realities is still better than living in a safe and protected in environment. Or maybe it ends darker where Truman feels there really is no difference between the two. I feel like there’s just so much potential in seeing a man struggle in a situation like that. Especially since despite being “free”, he’s still living in a world where a lot of people are just “acting” to get what they want out of you. Man please, someone grab Jim Carrey and make this before he retires like he says he wants to.
A sequel would ruin the beauty of the movie’s ending; the reason we don’t get to see Truman’s life after he leaves the show is because his life isn’t being broadcasted to anyone anymore, even to us as the viewers. Sure it’d be interesting to see how he copes with the outside world and reality, but it would beat the entire purpose of his escape; It’s bittersweet, which is what’s so poetic about it
I wouldn't say no to a prequel miniseries about Truman's childhood. Not only showing him but also Marlon and his side of it being taught to lie to another boy from a young age. We should see Marlon's parents training him to do that, and maybe one episode showing Truman's birth mother watching the show and seeing her thoughts on it.
I watch horror movies and the search party marching in straight lines with flashlights is one of the creepiest things I have ever seen, When the entire neighborhood is looking for you

i dont think there were any dangerous marine life like sharks in it, but i guess there were small fishes and stuff and food supply came from outside the set i guess.
I like how you can see Truman at 3:12, a snippet kept in from a deleted scene that reveals he was there (he's the guy in the black coat with the bicycle.)
2:21 - Remember the friendly dog at the beginning who jumps up and greets Truman every day? Here he is snarling and growling, suggesting that even the dog is an actor. 😉
I don't know but the dog face I thinks it's very meaningful because the actors, who always seems really pretty and innocent, now show their true colors, they never cared for Truman. And they want to prisoner him
The realistic finish for this would’ve been him finding out he’s been used his entire life and going postal on everyone it is ending in a movie about a serial killer
Yes but it also implies that every single one of the sexual encounters was pre-planned and the actress was under contract to have sex with the star of the show which is damn near prostitution except for that it was recorded somewhere by a camera therefore technically making it p*** therefore legal

@@nicholasheredia4235 i watched the movie but i cannot understand how did truman escape the house with all the cameras in it
Because he's Jim Carrey.
@@zeroronaldo9313 possibly because they expected him to be asleep... And they always focus on the camera that has him in focus. Probably they were staring at the decoy he had made while he made his escape
People see a happy ending with this movie I didn't when hes free he's still gonna be Truman the most recognizable person on the planet. He's still gonna have everyone watching wverything he does except now there's no protection now he's gotta deal with a insanely imperfect world when he's only ever known a perfect one
You don't get the film either.
But even with paparazzi and stuff not everything a celebrity does is shown to everyone, plus im sure people will forget about him in a few years, like most actors who've stopped. Plus he wanted to leave his perfect reality and see more of the world. Hes not dumb so im sure hell be fine
He probably gets a lot of money from the lawsuit to live 50 years without working.
It is a happy ending. It's a heroic story. It's truth conquering lies. It's a man journeying across the sea into the unknown world. It's about courage and faith despite not knowing the full truth of the world.
Bro Truman died. Hes on the moon, he went outside the dome. He died.
This is one of my favorite scenes in any movie.
One of the best turning points ever
How did they turn the moon into a giant spotlight? Like, everything here is preinstalled technology, right? Did they plan ahead for a scenario where they would need a giant spotlight moon?
Well yeah, a spotlight moon would be pretty handy if Truman had night scenes out where there's scarce lighting
They probably knew since day 1 he would try to escape at some point
Maybe they told truman his whole life that's how the moon works...he could believe it if his whole life has been a lie and he has been living in the same place. So Truman would never suspect that the moon doesnt have a spotlight 🤣😅
To make a romantic evening where he is with his wife in the moonlight?
everyone in town is looking for you, then the moon becomes a spotlight...and the dude expects Truman to just be ok with knowing that and continue the show
Don’t hug me I’m scared really did well with this premise too. It’s new season really highlighted just seemingly impossible it is to escape the show.
I love how Truman 'Shawshank Redemptioned' his way out of the show. Truly sensational scene.

"...and every network has a pirated shot of Marlon making an ass of himself in front of the camera."
Oh cool, Marlon became a meme. 😁
I don't blame the producers of Truman show, I blame the audience for wanting Truman for their entertainment
Why on earth would you not blame the producers???
It's a movie, please don't blame anyone.
You do the same in the zoo.
I always wondered if the audience stopped watching the ratings would go down to a point where the show got cancelled. How would Christof work with this and would Truman be freed.
@@ahuman32478 when did i say so?
5:05 who else can relate to that one guy on the job who needs clarification when nobody wants to answer him.
All these years later and one memory that always stuck out was how that Dalmatian turned into a demon when the town had a Truman hunt.
1:44 the moon is a searchlight.
The Truth in plain sight
When that guy said it's me dad let's talk I was like 🤣😅😂
Incredible scene
i wish they showed kristof or someone in "the truman show" cast what to say to explain why the whole town was looking for him
Wow, Jim's usually sneaky in the movies. The tables are turned on him, it was a great different role on this movie. This movie was great.
Sure it’d be interesting to see how he copes with the outside world and reality, but it would beat the entire purpose of his escape; It’s bittersweet, which is what’s so poetic about it
bad idea.
“Cut transmission!”~Chrisoff
“Cut transmission!?!” ~Producer Guy asked
“CUT IT!!!!” ~ Chrisoff
He knew Marlene had F-UP badly! LMFAO!!!!
And you gotta love the typing and hard slap to cut transmission 😆
Christof underestimated Truman.
But Marlene didn't fuck anything up.
We all living a thing like this
This movie concept would make a wild video game.
0:55 Cut transmission! CUT IT!!! 😂😂
Great performances
I watch horror movies and the search party marching in straight lines with flashlights is one of the creepiest things I have ever seen, When the entire neighborhood is looking for you
*Shawshank Redemption style* that Truman did I just realized that.
How
Great movie just watched it really good
Dude I saw this in theaters as an 8 year old thinking it would be a funny Jim Carrey movie. I was pleasantly surprised.
I wonder what time it was
I always wondered did they fill the 'sea' with marine life and 'sharks' etc
There's a scene where he talks about going fishing, so maybe there was some actual marine life?
They could’ve built the dome over an actual lake. With the amount of square miles that thing covered, it’d make sense if a lot of the terrain was all natural.
@@Jaden_The_Celestial question is, how did they keep it alive without the real sunlight? The sun in Truman's world was just a lamp...
@@GosieKin Bright light + UV light. Easy to emulate the same effect as the sun. (I think)
i dont think there were any dangerous marine life like sharks in it, but i guess there were small fishes and stuff and food supply came from outside the set i guess.
I think at some point, I'm just going to take like a 1000 mile drive this summer qnd just go straight south
I definitely have the DVD copy!
I like how you can see Truman at 3:12, a snippet kept in from a deleted scene that reveals he was there (he's the guy in the black coat with the bicycle.)
The Director has always made me think of Steve Jobs lol
2:21 - Remember the friendly dog at the beginning who jumps up and greets Truman every day? Here he is snarling and growling, suggesting that even the dog is an actor. 😉
Truman: I'm going to need 50% of your product advertising revenues...
"Why would we look at the water?"
uh...cause he's always wanted to sail to Fiji, and it's the only thing he hasn't tried yet
1st position? These people are like robots wtf
Never seen theatre before?
2:03 does anybody know what that symbol is?
imagine this turning into a horror movie lol
Ed Harris plays bad guys perfectly. Idk what it is he’s just so good at it and the ironic thing is he’s an extremely nice person.
Dog scene at 2:22 Jedi mind control.
4:10, subtle hint that there is nothing else to watch, or that people really don’t care about him. He’s just a form of entertainment.
Do you think society should try to be like the people you work for?
He found himself and he decided he didn’t want to play the roll that they gave him in this broadway play
Gee I wonder where he could be? Are we living on the fiji islands?
RIP Phillip Baker Hall
I don't know but the dog face I thinks it's very meaningful because the actors, who always seems really pretty and innocent, now show their true colors, they never cared for Truman. And they want to prisoner him
I wonder when filming how they got that effect out of the dog. 2:15
Lawn Cam. GIMME A LAWN CAM!
The realistic finish for this would’ve been him finding out he’s been used his entire life and going postal on everyone it is ending in a movie about a serial killer
Best movie ever
My top too.
This is what there doing to me atm. My whole life was set up just like this fucking movie.
How did Truman get out.
So the Truman show is live to the world 24/7? You mean every time this dude was freaking the whole world was watching with their kids and shit??
YEP!
no, during sex scenes the camera would cut to the skies and windows and curtains and stuff, one of the viewers even mentions this
@@Sphinx3 lol that's ridiculous!
@@snookycooky yeah haha, one viewer of the show even says that 'they dont show anything...' and stuff :p
Yes but it also implies that every single one of the sexual encounters was pre-planned and the actress was under contract to have sex with the star of the show which is damn near prostitution except for that it was recorded somewhere by a camera therefore technically making it p*** therefore legal
1:07 Mozart - Horn Concerto No. 1 in D Major K. 412 in case if anyone is wondering :)
You're telling me this guy only has one out of a thousand cameras pointed at him at all times
1:17 «Non non, non, Truman n’est pas mort, il n’est pas mort je vous dis !»
1:44 Eerie searchlight shot over ocean.
😊good movie
"It's me, dad... let's talk" lol
how tf was the audio recorded lmao
2:28 I swear that's the guy from the gone wrong show
Even if they DID find him here, then what?
