Very nice fly. I wish I understood half of what you said. Turning on subtitles doesn’t help at all. Hahahaha! What time of the year would you fish this pattern in NZ?

That was an excellent video Davie. I really like the Blow fly you tied. My only problem is I can't get the Loco Foam in the color you are using. I have ordered several times and I have to send it back. Can you tell me your source Mate. Thanks and best to you. Merry Christmas.

Go to craft store. They sometimes have these finishes on foam. Also Loco foam comes in this color or color as a oil something. One thing about craft store foam it has great variation in thickness. Also its texture inset as soft or air filled as razor foam.

      Hi Danny,
I bought the Loco Foam from the Glasgow Angling Centre when I worked there a few years ago, the colour if I remember right was called Oil Slick...If you do a search online for Wapsi Oil Slick Loco Foam you may find some...I'm glad you liked the fly...Merry Christmas to you too..
      All the very best Davie

Really good looking fly the under body looks great with the foam over, it should make a good foot print with the legs and tail ,I would like to try these out on the small streams next season ,how small would you go with this style of fly? Thanks again davie atb.

      Hi George,
I would tye them down to a size 16 which would be a great wee beetle pattern or even a midge..I'm glad you liked the fly, it would be also worth tying a few with a grizzle hackle rather than the black especially for small midge...
      All the very best Davie..

Davie McPhail the grizzle hackle sounds good ,I will tie a few various colours to try in the wee burns ,let you know how they do next season, thanks for the helpful advice, all the best cheers.

    Nice wee fly davie!!
Would green holographic work for the body?... it takes ages to get supplies sent over to me in Germany.

      chris
it works well so does either a plastic wrap and a green marker or a pearl tinsel and a green marker

      Hi Chris,
Green Holographic tinsel would be a good choice and I'm sure it would work fine...
      All the very best Davie..
