@@aznation4592 No, I did not, I simply tightened up that top brass nut. It has been working flawlessly ever since I did this too. I did install the faucet myself, and think the nut just might not have been tightened enough from the factory.

Wow! Great video. I just noticed my exact type of faucet leaking this morning. I just order the o-rings from Amazon. I plan on repairing the leak whenever the Amazon order arrives today. Liked and Subscribed 😊
Glad we could help! You may want to take the old seals off first and take them to the hardware store with you to make sure you get the right size replacements. They do come in a few different sizes. Thanks for watching!
A great help! The process was straightforward, but I found no branding at all on my faucet. I had to buy a 7/64" hex key and channel locks, then measure the O-rings and guess. First guess wrong, 2nd was right and the package says for "Delta and Peerless Faucets". Hope this helps someone. So nice not to have a leaky faucet anymore!
Just fyi, before buying new o-rings check to make sure yours didn't just come unseated. This was the case in my Moen single handle faucet. The o-ring had partially come out of the groove of the plastic piece it sits in but was otherwise okay. I suspect pivoting the faucet from one sink to the other unseated it over time. Reseating it fixed my leak.
Thank you! I was afraid to take the pliers to the collar until I watched your video. I KNEW something had to be holding the neck down but couldn't see what it was. Thanks again.
I installed a new faucet not too long ago, very similar to the one in your video. It started leaking bad out of the base. I watched your video and then took my faucet apart. I noticed that plastic ring was below the neck instead of inside the top of it. Am thinking maybe I installed it wrong. Going to try that ring on top and see if it helps. If not then I'll replace the rings. Thanks for the great video!
You don’t have to. But, when rolling the o-ring down if you put the top one in first, the bottom one can roll over the top of it without getting stuck in the groove. Probably more important when removing them. If you do the bottom one first, it can pass over the top one. Without getting stuck in the groove and have to dig it out again.
I’m getting water at the base as well as below the sink - should fixing these o rings fix both of those issues, or is it likely that I’m dealing with a bigger problem?
How come you didn't use the recommended silicone grease on the O-Rings? The faucet will rotate more freely and smoothly, resulting in not tearing up the dry O-Rings.
We would recommend Turing the water off. Especially if it’s your first time. If it’s a Cartridge style like the one in the video, then you technically don’t have to. If it’s the older style that uses a ball valve, then you will need to turn the water off.
I took mine off as instructed and just cleaned the casket off because years of build-ups. I put it back and no more leaks. Just make sure you use a a towel to wrap around the bottom piece when using channel lock. It will scratch the metal finish. Other than that I did it
This is a very helpful video and I'm set to order O rings from amazon. I don't know what I'll do with all the Os that aren't a fit...make Christmas tree decorations? There is a whole lot of grunge where the plate meets, or is supposed to meet, the counter. in my kitchen I'm not sure if the tap is leaking or if it's splashing water that's causing it. Any ideas?
The link to the o-rings in the description shows how to measure them if you want to order individual ones in the size you need. We have multi-family properties, so having extras around is never a bad thing. Lol If you are getting calcium build up around the base, then i would guess it is probably leaking. Especially if you live somewhere with hard water, this is extremely common.
Could the leak at the base also cause leaking under the sink? My base is leaking and also water dripping under the sink. I’m going to try the steps in this video and hopefully it fixes both my issues.
Yes! Most of the time we have to fix this issue it is because a resident has seen water dripping under their sink. Water comes out around the collar or “neck” of the sink and runs down and finds a way underneath . Ultimately dripping down below. If your sink has water coming out around the collar while on… this should take care of you! Good luck! 🍀
I have a Price Pfister faucet myself. Looks very similar. Mines leaking above and below the spout connection. Took everything apart but I can't see to get the spout off. I yank and pull up on it and it moves maybe a 1/16" of a inch up and down but doesn't come off. I've tried tapping it up with a wrench and still no luck. The spout spins and moves super freely but no luck getting it to come completely off. I am still waiting for Price Pfister to get back to me with the model number and replacement parts as its under the lifetime warranty.
I have had them be pretty stuck before. I usually just wiggle the neck up and down until it breaks loose. I know that’s a real technical explanation. Lol. If that doesn’t work, you could try shooting some wd40 in there. To help loosen it up.
Make sure the water is off in case you have a ball joint style, then you can tap around on the ring with your wrench or something to hopefully break loose any build up. Then if you still can't get it, you can use a pipe wrench, but I'd put a towel or something around it because it can tear up the finish on it pretty easy.
What would cause a Grohe Eurodisc faucet to leak from the bottom right after I cleaned it? There was some moldy-looking stuff where the faucet base meets the sink and I used a toothbrush to clean there. It leaked for a little bit and now stopped. Why would it stop leaking? I just fear it is going to start again. Thanks, in advance.
Thank you very much. My husband has one question: "How do you get the hex key into the hex screw on the back side of the faucet handle? I can't see what I'm doing and can't get the key into the screw . . . .. Very much enjoy your choice of music."
It can be kinda tricky. It’s hard to see in the little hole. I’m not sure I can help very much… you have to have the right size wench (not all faucets are the same) and then just kinda feel around for it. 🤷🏼♂️
@@larkenbradley6704 There’s always the possibility that the hex screw is stripped or so old and worn that it’s essentially apart of the fixture. If you have a small mirror, it wouldn’t hurt to use it to see exactly what the condition is. There’s always penetrating oil, that should help.
I’ve never actually had one that I couldn’t get off. I guess if I couldn’t get it to move, you could drill it out. But then you would have to find a replacement.
You can do it! We believe in you. It’s a good idea to turn the water off first if you are unsure what type of faucet you have. And although it’s not shown in the video, we would recommend using some grease on the o-rings.
At 3:50, when you slip the last o-ring on the top spout part, was that a new o-ring, too, or did you just replace the other two? (I know it's best just to replace all of them if you're repairing it, but was curious because I'm not sure my repair kit came with that third particular o-rings.) Thanks!
That ring is a plastic one. Some repair kits come with replacement ones, but it’s not really a seal. It sort of just helps guide the spout when you spin it. I typically reuse them unless it’s broken for some reason.
it could be coming from the o-rings, or it could be coming from the cartridge. it would probably be a good idea to replace them both since you are going to have it apart anyway.
Yes. It is a good idea to grease the fitting when putting it back together. I would think most any hardware store would carry most sizes. If you have a very unique faucet, you may need to go to a plumbing supply store. Unfortunately, they can be a little harder to find.
It can be confusing which is why we linked a universal set that should cover most faucets. There are many single handle tap faucets that look “similar”. I would think one of the larger o rings in that set would work. They are meant to be a tight fit so you might need to stretch them over the top so they slide into the channels . When in doubt you can remove one of the rings and take it to a local hardware store and they should have something that would work. I’m sorry you are having issues.
Hey it was real good and helpful mom is just a different brand and older and I was just kind of just hard you know how it is hell can you have it all but I thank you though aren't sitting everyday brother take care
Ok, the hex screw is out. And now, the handle doesn't want to come off. I pulled up pretty hard. I'd just like to understand first what's keeping it together. It doesn't appear to snap in place, so maybe I won't break something by using more force. Good to know, thanks.
It’s best to remove the old ones and take them with you to the hardware store to match them. But if you are going to order them, you could try to measure the diameter. There are also variety packs that have lots of sizes in them but this would be much more expensive. A single set is only a dollar or two.
I have a leak in the exact same area. Can you recommend sizes of rubber gaskets? I don't mind buying several bags if I'm not sure of size. Any particular brands? Thanks so much!
There are different diameters and thickness depending on the brand. The easiest thing to do is remove the old ones first and take them to the hardware store and compare them to the new ones. Any hardware store should carry a variety of sizes.
I’m stumped on that one. Any moen single handle tap that I have ever worked on uses o rings for the seals on the faucet. If there is none then the only other seals in it are part of the cartridge. You would either need to remove and take to a supply store or google the faucet model number to find out more. Sorry I couldn’t be more help
Sky Management slides easier and protects the rubber O rings. Also I don’t think it would hurt to put regular pipe dope on the O rings. Plumbers always say if in doubt dope it.
It is possible that it would need a new cartridge. If you replace seals like the video and it is still leaking... it needs a new cartridge. Turn water off before you replace the cartridge... :-)
Sky Management I followed the steps but the handle will not come off! I am stuck on this part because if I force would something break? I checked and the one screw I took out did nothing. Its a cheap Waterpick one lever with spray detachment nozzel. Its ok if I need to change valve and seals, if only I can get it off :(
The handles can be stuck on pretty good sometimes. If you have removed the set screw then I would wiggle it and try to force it off. (Make sure the water is turned off) The worst that would happen would be the top of the cartridge could break off. But, if you think the Carthage may need to be replaced anyway, then that might not be a big loss.
Sky Management the handle finally came off pulling upwards hard. The rest was stuck. Nothing was getting anything to budge. Took pics went to hardware store and they said this brand discontinued kitchen faucets and no parts are available. So the whole faucet needs to be replaced. I can’t open it past getting handle off. Cartridge cannot be removed its inset. The geniuses did not put a hex to remove it or anything the screws off.
Any hardware store should have them, Lowes, Home depot, and so on. I would suggest removing the old ones and taking them with you to the store to make sure you get the right size. You can order them on amazon as well, but you would have to measure them carefully to make sure you get the right ones.
Be sure to get the right ones. I tried getting the closest I could find with help of someone at the hardware store, and they did not work. I ultimately found the ones designed for my old faucet, and the worked perfectly.
So what caused the leak? The rings are not of the right size? I have a Moen kitchen faucet installed and in a couple of days this problem began to occur. After a few months, it has gotten more serious! The plumber did not admit this problem and said it is because I let water splash on it.
If it started again immediately, then it could be that the seals were the wrong size. The carriage can also leak out of the top and it will look like the same issue. But replacing the o-rings won’t fix it. Here is a link to a video on how to change the Carthage. ruclips.net/video/C78BQik6-ag/видео.html I hope this was helpful.
I wish we could see the other side where the taking things apart actually happens. I have a faucet like this, but I can't see any sort of red thing to pop off. So tiny, which I could see what it should look like.
I could not remove the neck on my American Standard faucet. I tried to pull it off and thought I was going break it off the sink. As usual, these videos make things look simple, but in reality they are not. I will call a plumber to R&R the seals.
I just installed my Bilt Single Handle Kitchen Faucet With Sprayer.(I looks just like yours) It was surprisingly easy to install, BUT IT LEAKS BELOW THE SINK.
It’s hard to say without looking at it… if it only leaks when it’s running then I would check the sprayer connection first. If it uses the quick connect, sometimes they can be a little finicky if it’s not snapped on just right.
@@SkyManagement It looks like you got it. It's difficult getting down there with my bad back, but I figured that you must know what you're taking about, so I made the effort to see where the water was coming from. It wasn't a leak, it was just water pouring unhindered out of the CENTRAL nozzle. So, it looks like I have to reconnect one of the hoses to the Central connection; then, I have to decide what to do with the...no, wait, the diagram explains. I was right to connect the hot and cold water lines to the two outside threaded cylinders extending below the sink. Then, the sprayer has to be connected through the central hole.. I will then have a sprayer. My old set-up had the hole for the sprayer plugged-up. and that was good enough for me. (Who needs a sprayer?) However, I have no objections to having one, and if my new faucet set requires that it be installed, so be it.THANKS A MILION!!! I THINK I CAN TAKE IT FROM HERE.
Hmm. The o-rings that I replaced in the video are the typical place for a leak to occur. If it is leaking from under the base plate then I would think most of the water would be dripping inside the cabinet. Without looking at it, it’s tough to say. Often times these o-rings will drip out of the back and it will pool around the base plate making it look like it’s coming from there. But if there is a leak coming from below where these o-rings are, then unfortunately you may have to replace the faucet.

The disassembly is similar to the faucet in your video but without the rubber o rings. Any suggestions to what I do?
I’m stumped on that one. Any moen single handle tap that I have ever worked on uses o rings for the seals on the faucet. If there is none then the only other seals in it are part of the cartridge. You would either need to remove and take to a supply store or google the faucet model number to find out more. Sorry I couldn’t be more help
Great video.
Thank you! Glad we could help.
Thanks for the great video. All my parts usually end up dropped in the drain, I spend more time fishing them out than the time to change the rings. 😂
Haha. Yeah. I’ve been there. 😂
I take a paper towel and just lay it over top of the drain. That way if I drop anything it won’t go down the drain. It makes life much easier
I always use a wipe the inside of the neck of the faucet with petroleum jelly before sliding in back on.
Yes! If you have it with you, that would make things slide smoother. I agree.
Sky Management slides easier and protects the rubber O rings. Also I don’t think it would hurt to put regular pipe dope on the O rings. Plumbers always say if in doubt dope it.
applying "Faucet Grease" is a safer option.
Leo Chou pipe dope.
Thanks for sharing .
No problem! We are always happy to help :)
great video! what if it leaks also under handle that opens and closes ( my main issue). Does anything inside the center need changing as well?
(Make sure the water is turned off)
The worst that would happen would be the top of the cartridge could break off. But, if you think the Carthage may need to be replaced anyway, then that might not be a big loss.
Sky Management sadly just found out my faucet is discontinued and no parts like valve are available so on to a new faucet by another brand.
Thanks 🙏 a million you’re dope!!
Great video it help me but where can i get the orings from wich store ?
Any hardware store should have them, Lowes, Home depot, and so on. I would suggest removing the old ones and taking them with you to the store to make sure you get the right size. You can order them on amazon as well, but you would have to measure them carefully to make sure you get the right ones.
Be sure to get the right ones. I tried getting the closest I could find with help of someone at the hardware store, and they did not work. I ultimately found the ones designed for my old faucet, and the worked perfectly.
Is there suppose to have grease put on the O rings?
Yeah. It’s a good idea to lube the gaskets before sliding the neck back on.

I hope this was helpful.
I wish we could see the other side where the taking things apart actually happens. I have a faucet like this, but I can't see any sort of red thing to pop off. So tiny, which I could see what it should look like.
Do you not spread silicone lubricant on the o-rings?
yes, it is a good idea to do that. It will slide together easier and give you a longer life to your o-rings.
@@SkyManagement can I just use wD 40 for lubricant or something in my kitchen like coconut oil?
@@irislorikeet4287 WD-40 and coconut oil don't stick to o-rings and will get washed off.
I could not remove the neck on my American Standard faucet. I tried to pull it off and thought I was going break it off the sink. As usual, these videos make things look simple, but in reality they are not. I will call a plumber to R&R the seals.
It ain’t rocket science.
Very helpful. Love the music.

It looks like you got it.
If only sink was designed this easy. Mine is cryptic.
Yes there are some brands that are not as easy to work with to be sure.
Thank you!!!!
No problem. Glad we could help!
Size of O ring plz..
Awesome Video, thank you for posting!!!

Thanks! I find it kind of calming.

Glad we could be that something … for you!
The u tube repair never goes haywire...have seen complete truck engines on big rigs fried as the trucker does a "simple" lamp bulb replacement.

Good Job my man. Nice and simple, thanks a lot.
No problem! Happy to help.
Bought a new faucet because the plumber said this cant be fixed. I wish I watched this vid earlier.
I was told the same
Y’all need to find a new plumber.
How about if it is leaking from the base, that the actual faucet is sitting on?
@@SkyManagementI think that is what's going on, I will further check under the cabinet today, Thank you so much for responding.
