Hi Olga, it was really inspiring to watch your video of the Pendle Hill fell race. Congrats to Olivia for participating in the under 13 race, and to you for completing the challenging adult race. The scenery of the race looked beautiful, and it was interesting to learn about the history of the area with the Pendle witches. The camaraderie among the runners and the local community's support for the race were heartwarming to see. Thank you for sharing your experience with us!
Heard a lot about Pendle Hill and its witches, seen a few videos from there too but never visited myself. Nice to see a junior race as well as an adult race going on there and those cakes looked fantastic! Brilliant to see some kids as young as 6 entering the races, very well done indeed. A real good turn out in all age groups and I can understand the farmers point of you with it having been so wet, it looked a right bog fest in places. Must admit I would have found it hard still going up when others were coming passed me on the way down but good on you for encouraging everyone. That final uphill looked real steep, so I bet it was nice to start the last downhill and get down to that cake! Cheers Alan
Great embedded footage of the race and impressive shots of the youngsters descending. I remember that wicked descent near the summit from your video last year. Well done - it's a classic race
Hi Olga it's so good that so many people of different ages get involved with these races and they always seem to be in beautiful places ! I loved the Pendle Witches drawing for the winner Chris and you took nice photos of the winners . Loved the sheep and Olivia at the end :) ~ Anna
Congrats to you and Olivia, it was awesome to see her give her all! I don't know how you manage to run on this terrain and capture so much footage, it's very impressive!
Well done Olga and Olivia. Those fell races look so tough to an Essex lad! Great bit of filming, I think you spend almost as much energy encouraging the other runners and thanking marshals as you do running: that's nice.
I love living here because of how undulating the North is. But I like all of the Britain, it's so green and it's easy to get places, people are kind. People complain about the weather but I like it that it doesn't get too hot and there's plenty of fresh air. Best place ever!
Hi Olga and Olivia. 😍😍 Thanks for showing us the Pendle Hill race and the Alice Nutter statue. The race for children and adults is nicely organized.👍 It goes up a rather demanding hill, at least as far as the terrain is concerned.🖐L32
I hope you are having a great Sunday Olga..... The Sun is shining here in Yorkshire but it is still a little cold...... Another great video, I hope your next one will be warmer.... Bless you all.. :-))) xxxx
It was such a nice clear day today with blue sky. I didn't do any filming. My eldest daughter Emily came to visit and we all went for a walk on locally and just had family time. The wind was still a bit chilly in places. Hope you enjoyed your day, David. 🌞
Your video brought back many memories, thank you, I did the Pendle Hill fell race back in the eighties. There used to be the Tour of Pendle and the Half Tour, I have done them both and they brilliant courses. You mention Dave Woodhead, both he and his wife were runners when I raced. Being local I used to train over Pendle quite frequently.
Sounds brilliant. They still have the Tour of Pendle race and Half Tour is called something else now. Nice to know this about you running there and that Dave Woodhead was a runner too. I didn't realise this.
Dave and Eileen used to do lots of local races, Dave was a decent runner. They both used to participate in the Pendle Grand Prix which incorporated (approx) 10 local races both road and fell.
@@uschidisl1 wow, I will know now. Eileen was there too, taking pictures. I know about Pendle Grand Prix. I have done most of races from it over the years.
I would love to run in that one, who knows, maybe in 2024? My grandfather lived on the outskirts of Burnley. You could see Pendle Hill across the town from his bungalow kitchen window, an impressive sight! The chimney from Prestige that make pans and pressure cookers was also visible. I live in Nottingham and run for a Nottingham Club, Holme Pierrepont who are affiliated to England Athletics and the FRA. We run in some of the Derbyshire Peak District races sometimes
Oh nice to hear that, Barry. I've been to Nottingham only once when there was National Cross Country there. I was much fitter back then. I think it was 2017. It's cool to know you guys run some race in Derbyshire.
Hlo olga's British fells thank you for sharing your part of life with us. You are living a dream life. I think you have the potential for reaching a wider audience if you optimize your channel like improving your thumbnail, video editing, and title add the best part in the first 10 sec it will hook the audience and the audience have something to watch your full video. The higher the time people stay at your video the higher the chances youtube algorithm pushes your video. And remember one thing content matters the most if you want to succeed on RUclips. feel free to reply back if need help with any of these things.
I don't really care about reaching the wider audience. This is a very narrow niche topic and and it's not supposed to be for a wide audience. It's just memories for the people who did it and routes and views for the people who might want to do it. In no way, shape or form I would want to attract "wider audience", who wouldn't care about fell running.
Always good when Pendle Hill makes an appearance on your channel! Good how you showed the statue of Alice Nutter, I had no idea it was there. Those cakes look scrumptious! Out of interest, how many people turn or roll their ankle on a run like this - the runners coming down were flying and the trail looked so uneven - rocks and stones everywhere. I know these runners will be prepared for it but it must be so easy to get a footstep wrong and go down?
I turned my ankle on this one going down. But if you run it off quickly enough (if it wasn't turned too badly), you can just carry on. The pain goes away. You kind of get used to it. You also get used to running with more agility.
I've heard of the Pendle Hill witches! I've been to Salem before. It's some history! I was told, and I don't know if it's true, that there were very few witch burnings during the dark ages, but that they picked up during the Renaissance. That date you gave would put Pendle Hill in that same Era. Crazy that these picked up just as we were becoming more scientific. BTW, beautiful race!
I can't remember exactly, I need to look it up. I am not sure about the rest of Europe but in England a renewed interest to witchcraft in 1600s was something to do with the King Charles the 1st paranoia and the Civil War.

Thank you for watching my geeky running video and commenting on it, Alan.

It's nearly the same video as last year, I must admit.
Always beautiful, what a lovely world Lancs is
Great to see you again Sara.

How heartening to see the next generation coming through - fell running has a bright future.
I agree
Cool...great to see all ages involved

I always want to capture it because it's like a want to take it all with me.

Go Olivia. Go Olga. Well done. If those 'witches' in the 1600's could fell run they might have got away. Best wishes.
Thank you, Nigel. The witches must have been fake, otherwise they could just fly away on their brooms :-)

You should consider becoming a coach with words of wisdom like that. Pass the second runner and you will be second. 😅😂
hahaha 😂
